  • I have used the Samplex SEC 1235M power supply since 2017 both in the shack and in the field. This is one reliable and durable power supplies. I hope that you enjoy this presentation. 73!

I use Samplex power supplies for my shack and we have two for the HARC test bench for the Huntsville Hamfest. My only issue is it is not power pole enabled, we are converting ours to 2 power pole outputs. They are low noise and trouble free.

Yeah, I've heard from other hams that they would prefer power poles instead of the stock connections. 73!

Thank you for the good information. I will be ordering this or the sec-1235P-M that has come out.

I appreciate the feedback, Dan. I would like to hear what you think about the sec-1235P-M once you have it online. I believe that's the model with the built in battery backup, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks and 73! -Gary, KB5AEB

Hey Gary, if YT allows one to edit the title to Samlex, you may get more views. Thanks for the content, k4qep

Hello Gary. I recently purchased the 1235m and noticed that there is no ground connection for my single point ground. How did you ground the power supply? Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question…..Rob Wd4ift .

Hello Robert. In my 36 years being a licensed amateur radio operator, I've not used a single point ground for my ham shack. The only ground that I have used for the 1235m (and other power supplies) is the ground to my electrical outlet. I hope this answers your question. Thanks, Gary, KB5AEB

Hello and thanks for the review. Can you tell me if the meters are accurate? I saw a review from one person that said the meter(s) weren’t accurate.

Hello Michael. I believe the comment that you are referring to maybe where someone stated, "I never saw the amp meter move once." The amp meter does move when transmitting. It will vary based upon the use (wattage output of radio) as well as the number of radios transmitting simultaneously. I own two of the Samplex SEC 1235M power supplies and the amp meter does move while transmitting. As for being accurate, based upon my experience, the meters seem to be accurate. I hope this answers your question. 73, Gary KB5AEB
