My C&P examiner told me you definitely have an issue with bp and it's extremely high and about a month later I was denied because it's not service connected 😅😅
I lived in agent orange in Vietnam and have been fighting hypertention for many years. The VA dianosed me with hypertention, the VA gave me meds for hypertention and when I drove many miles for my C&P the VA toild me I did NOT have hypetension.
I submitted and showed the CP my 3 documented blood pressure exams within 1-2 years. Medication of hypertension pills And c&p took a blood pressure test at the spot And STR stating high blood pressure
my primary doctor who is treating me for high blood pressure since 2008 has me do a blood pressure diary twice a year covering one week, doing 2 readings per day at same time and she puts it in my va health record. My high blood pressure began in 1988 after a pneumonectomy and have been on medication since then. Blood pressure can be high on a situational basiis, like for some going to the dentist..Me.

My C&P examiner told me they didn’t need my readings and that the HP reading while on active duty could have been “a one off” hence she said it wasn’t service connected although I’m diagnosed with it now but wasn’t while on active duty
Question related to the criteria used by the VA to determine HBP. The systolic and diastolic pressured by the VA or not in step with the Mayo Clinic, American Heart Association, The Cleveland Clinic guidelines all show Systolic and Diastolic pressures lower than the VA as outlined in 38CFR. Why is the VA so determined to use what I consider outdated guidelines in determining HBP?
I do not think that is what they use to determine high blood pressure. It is what they use to determine COMPENSABLE high blood pressure. Does that clarify?
I have an exam for hypertension. I am currently taking 2 medications and a breakthrough medication as needed . Am i supposed to stop taking them for the exam? if not I likely won’t be as high but couldn’t that be dangerous if Instop .
Why does the VA define hypertension as a diastolic of 90 but you only get a rating if the diastolic is 100 or greater? I've been watching your videos and haven't found this answer. Thank you
Question: I was diagnosed with hypertension in 2003 (this has been documented over the years). If I am not on my medications, my BP runs 160 over 110. On the day of my C&P exam, my BP was perfect (110/83), and I took my medications that morning. Will this impact my results on the C&P exam?
Hello. I have Sys ranges (135-150) & Dia Ranges (95-125) 3 readings 110-120 (Dia) 1 Reading 120+ (Dia) All recorded over a week & 5 mins apart. What percentage could I qualify for?
I had a VSO file a Hypertension claim last month and a month later I had C&P for Hypertension but the day prior I called six different numbers to the VA and no one could tell me the C&P exam was for hypertension. I only found right when I sat down for the C&P exam. Is there a reason no one could tell me what the exam was for?
I have been on medication for hypertension that was diagnosed by the VA and have a prescription for it from the VA. Yet I filed a claim and it was approved but I got $0. So hypertension is not worth filing a claim for!!!
Hi. I suffer w sc tinnitus headaches and depression. My BP has been 150s over 90 recently. Is that viable to file secondary ? I understand a nexus is required. Thank you !
Hi sir I am sorry to hear this. Many people are service connected for Hypertension as a secondary. Of course every case is unique to the individual veteran. Best of luck to you and keep us posted!
Yea let me tell you what really happens they take your blood pressure the VA that is, you send them records from you current doctor, they send you for a C&P exam you get an award of Zero. Why is that well you have been on high blood pressure medication both prescribed by the VA and you doctors for the last 30 years. So yes it is under control, yes the Lipitor is working very well, sorry they never take that into account, been there 2x times an still get a zero.
Prestige got me from 90 to 100 with awesome Nexus letter. Will worth my time and money.
Thank you so much for the opportunity sir!

My c and p exam consisted of taking my blood pressure twice, no questions and see you later thank you for your service. A month later VA says denied.

They are not
