Natural World: Weasels: Feisty & Fearless
Members of the weasel family are often portrayed as the villains of the natural world, but do they deserve this reputation? By following the adventures of a tiny orphaned weasel named Twiz, this film reveals the true nature of these pocket-sized predators, which relative to their size have a bite more powerful than a tiger's. In Yorkshire, a unique garden rigged with over 50 cameras gives a rare insight into the dramatic life of a mother stoat as she tries to raise her first family. And new science uncovers the problem-solving abilities of the honey badger, the secrets behind the ferret's legendary flexibility, and the remarkable sense of smell of the wolverine. Together, using their extraordinary skills, this feisty and fearless family have conquered the planet.

Baby weasel was so cute it makes a seal pup look like a vicious predator.

"in the wild twiz would be playing with the rest of her litter so Rob HAS to take over this role". Oh yeah sure. Rob must be really disappointed that he has to play with her.
Damn it Rob
Brave man took one for the team :)
Everyone has their burden🤷♀️
A minutes silence for poor old Rob.
Rob has a great nature channel
I love his owl videos

It’s amazing how a baby animal can be so agile and coordinated, most babies are clumsy
Wild animals are different from domestic ones.
It's not so young, at least a few weeks old,so 5 maybe in our years
also, here's a little info on why human babies are so useless compared to animals in the wild. human babies are actually born very, very early. in reality we'd want them to be born at around 1 1/2 years into development (so as a 1 1/2 year old baby would be), however due to our very large brains our heads are much larger than other animals in proportion to the rest of our bodies. this means that humans have to be born MUCH earlier, because if they were born 1 1/2 years into our development, our heads would be too big and would be significantly more likely to kill the mother or baby due to suffocation.
because all human babies are born 'prematurely'. if they grew to the necessary size inside the womb, their heads couldn't pass the woman's canal. that's why babies are uncoordinated, because they didn't have enough time inside the womb to develop their motor system.
They start eating meat even before their eyes open; their teeth grow in before they can even see. I'm not sure about weasels, but I know that captive mink often get injured because of this trait; still-blind baby mink will sometimes _chew off their mothers' nipples._
They look adorable, but they are 1000% predator; it's actually a damn good thing they're as teeny-tiny as they are.
“Since she has no litter, the caretaker has to step in and play with her.” Uhh, do you need volunteers or something? I’m down
Bro this is one of the cutest animal in the planet
It’s also one of the deadliest predators.
baby assassin
@@johnrosskc no. It's the cutest
Yes bro it is very cute 😍
Cute little assassin
It's great to see Robert E Fuller appearing on BBC earth and getting the recognition he deserves, the man is a treasure
Knowing news media, it was just an appealing story 😒
@@derrickstorm6976 This was part of a BBC Documentary, not the news.
@@derrickstorm6976 you need to look at other bbc stuff too,to understand what they have been filming for around 60 years. They were/ are the front runners in scientific wildlife filming and have done at least as much, if not more in furthering the general publics understanding of nature and wildlife than any other organisation
@@derrickstorm6976 Pray tell, what is it about "news media" that you were even referring to? Tv news using lifestyle pieces?
@@helentee9863 I'm guessing they're confusing BBC News with the BBC as a company, not realising that the news department is just one (relatively) small facet of the many, many things the BBC produces.
Now this weasel is a cute little animal.

No. This animal is a cute little weasel.
Yes, a cute little animal that can be devastating when released into the wild in the wrong country.
@@JNL37Dyxce5 no
The fact that the animal wants to play makes it even more cute!
I saw one of these today while at work and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen, it kept playing peekaboo with me by hiding under some pallets then poking its head out to see me then would move to another and kept doing this for around 2 minutes 🤣
I saw one day before yesterday. I saw it before it saw me then it looked directly at me! It made a hasty retreat under cover but they are the cutest things ever and their faves so sweet and tiny!
*squishes adorable weasel with a single finger*
Weasel: So, you have chosen death.
She was simply the cutest critter I've ever seen. Notwithstanding she will also become a very competent killer.
I love that chittering noise she makes too.
Who would give a thumbs down to this?! It’s freaking adorable.
Farmers having to deal with the cute little DEVILS.
A weasel killed my entire family
I kinda hate it.
It’s not called thumbs down it’s called a dislike here on TH-cam

Anyone else know it was Rob's place immediately after the first establishing shot? He has a fantastic channel of his own if you love this kind of stuff.

Thank you !!!
I just subbed to his channel yesterday and yeah, instantly recognised cuz I saw this programme months ago. A great guy, with great lil friends ^_^
Whoever has the strength and willpower to release that adorable little thing back into the wild is a strong person hahah
People that devote their time to helping animals are the finest of human beings.
I didn't know this level of cuteness was a thing!
In human development, children "explore the world from a secure base." This is the same thing he described in weasel babies. Just another way that we aren't so different afterall.
Oh how cute! That small is like a cross between a cute baby mouse and a ferret..lol..love it❤️
Well, ferrets ARE cousins of the weasels…

Nice to see Robert Fuller getting featured on BBC!
human: I'm playing with this weasel
weasel: STOP TICKLING ME HUMAN!
Guys I never thought I'd say theses words in my life but I really enjoyed watching that guy play with his weasel.
Awesome video featuring Robert's rehabbing efforts. I sub his main channel.
Robert E Fuller! Love his channel. The Kestrel videos and Stoats are great. The badger video was a treat as well.
Thanks for plugging in his full name, didnt know he had a channel! Couldn’t find it anywhere in the description
I watch his videos too! He’s a great guy
What an adorable little killer! 😍
Robert Fuller is a gem of a human being.
These creatures are adorable from kit to full adult! They make the cutest noises, have the funniest movements, and they can have very strong personalities that show clearly from a young age. I love how Robert raises them so well and releases them back to the wild when they are ready. He’s so lucky to get to play with these cuties when they are so little! 😍🥰
That's the cutest!!! Such a cool sound too. It would kill me having to let it go but that's probably the best thing for it.
Baby weasel are just too cute,I love them a lot.
Also I wish y'all a good day.
rob: I'm just training her
me: right, just for scientific purposes. (suspicious)
And if its called training, it doesnt count as tickling
@@PrometheusV hahahahaha 💀
Yes, so that she can go back into the wild. They are not toys, as you can see from any of his videos, and his work.
Twiz is sooo cute and playful~💞
I’m so glad to see that she is learning many crucial things from Robert… How wonderful~
Thank you for sharing this video!🤗
Awww he and his weasel looks
like a kid & her/his dad 😍😍😍
She has to be the cutest thing I've seen today, hope she does well in the wild bless her.
So cute and deadly at the same time
Rob Fuller not only does such crucial and lovely work with rehabbing wildlife, but his entire body of paintings and other works are also really breathtaking, plus they have this highly relatable message of conservation, respect and admiration for the majesty of nature. He seems like a really wonderful guy doing important work all around. Not to mention he is a wonderful presenter and I find his channel to almost have ASMR-like levels of relaxation without any annoying whispering 😆Although sometimes perhaps a stoat named Whisper! 😁
great to see Robert Fuller , you should check out his channel , he does fascinating work with Stoats, Owl's and other animals. He always aim's to release animals he find's back into the wild when they are ready.
I love her name! It’s like a fantasy hero, and one day she will have to leave with a little sword to seek out her people in the magical forest.
Aw I know! So bloody cute and even cuter to imagine her getting a little boyfriend and them having the cutest babies ever! 🥰
Who else remember Ozzy The Adorable desktop weasel?
Wow she is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing this, BBC Earth.
This guy’s name is Robert E Fuller and he has his own TH-cam channel featuring weasel and stoat rehabilitation.
The idea of a grown man raising a baby weasel and saying their chittering noises are "one of the most beautiful sounds on earth" is ❤😊.
Robert Fuller is one of the best conservationists on the planet right now. He does such an amazing job educating people about all sorts of essential animals. His presence on social media can be felt at nearly every turn, and I think that is absolutely wonderful. People need to be educated more about these important creatures and Robert does such a magnificent job at teaching.
He's the cutest little weasel. Absolutely adorable.
My daughter found one. It's going to a shelter tomorrow, but having one for only a day is a gift from heaven. They are SO affectionate and cute lol.

Thank you Rob for caring so much for our beautiful weasels!

WHY DO THEY SOUND SO CUTE!!!!
I was squirrel hunting in Pennsylvania and sat on a log and 3 weasel were playing around me. 😊 I thought they were adorable. 3 different colors a white, brown, and black one came out. They had long tails. They are so sweet. ❤
Congrats Robert!! It's great to see you on BBC Earth!!

TH-cam: wanna watch a video of a guy playing with a baby weasel?
Me: absoLUTELY
Thank you Rob for your efforts, the world is a little bit better place thanks to you. Good luck Twiz!
Don't let its cuteness distract you from the fact that weasels are fierce predators that can slay chickens and rabbits many times their size despite the fact that weasels are as big as *PENCILS.*
Aaaah, who am I kidding? It's adorable! Who's a cute wittle killing machine? 😍❤💙💜💚

Robert E Fuller! Yeah!!!
This man an his family are brilliant
can’t stop watching this cutest creature!
I didn't know the meaning of "weasel" when I was watching this movie.
So I searched the meaning.
I understood it.
Weasel is called "Itachi"(いたち、鼬) in Japanese.
Interesting! Your English is very good.
So Itachi Uchiha means Weasel Paper Fan?😂😂
Thank you so much. Now I can even 'scare' my friends with this new enrichment of my Japanese...vocabulary ! ;=).
'Itachi', the 'weasel,' funny- wise rhymes with two of my favorite Japanese movie directors (/actors, producers), Takeshi Miike and... Beat Takeshi [Kitano]. The other 'immortal' and classic one, unfortunately, is "out-of-rhyme", but always in my heart and mind when it comes to Japanese films: Akira Kurosawa !
And yes, both Takeshi guys can be extremely violent and 'predators' on screen.
Arigato!
