The crowd most definitely did not suck. It was a MASSIVE crowd and people had been stirring all day with rumors that Head was hanging out with the KoRn guys. He was there playing with another band as a guest so everyone was buzzing about it all day. Blind was the encore for the night so people had been waiting for it and when Jon started talking about the empty space, the crowd erupted. It was pretty awesome to be there. This mix is definitely minimizing the crowd noise in favor of the band
Imagine a show where ALL the original five members were onstage together again after all these years? KoRn's YT channel better not mute the crowd audio too much either...
Hell yeah we went crazy and I'm pretty damn sure there wasn't one dry eye in Rockingham that night after while they were playing blind and after they were played blind. I knew Head was there due to seeing him play with P.O.D. that day but I never expected him to play a song with Korn. Hell no one did not even Korn until Munky made it all happen.
Seeing Brian with such a beautiful smile you know he definitely risen from his dark past and I'm glad that he found Jesus he definitely save him for sure and I thank his beautiful daughter Jeanne for saving him too
We sure did bro, was there with you and it still stays as one of my most iconic concert experiences at rebellion! You cannot tell from the footage but I would say at least 50 percent of us original Korn lineup fans were choked up.
if you haven't read Brian's book "with my eyes wide open" you should. it makes this performance even more emotional to me. especially considering all the lawsuits and trouble with jennea (his daughter). truly the most emotional performance I've ever see
My wife and I waited all day in the same spot up front because we heard Head was there and we hoped he would play with the band again! During Evanescence's set the crowd chanted "We want Head! We want Head!" The video is amazing but it holds no candle to how it felt being there for this amazing moment and I caught one of Feildy's picks after they ended their set!
I was there running the cleaning crew all weekend, and you're right, at least on my end being backstage all day there was this feeling of, "man, could it happen", because we all knew his band was there as well. It truly was a great day. I was kinda numb to seeing and meeting band because I did it for so long and saw so many that let you down, but that day in general was something very very special.
Ha I was chanting right along. Evanescence was also getting booed. They sounded great but not many bands can play before Korn especially with a crowd of people who had been waiting in the same spot for nearly 12hrs. I was up front to the right of the railing
I'm listening audiobook, Wide eyes open, about Brians life, and he is talking about this gig, that he did after long 7 years. It amazing to see him on the stage with Korn band again. People, you just need to listen to his story. Such a good guy. Such an inspiring story about the fight for what you love, never give up, money is just a tool and a friendship that can last forever. I was literally crying after this song. I was a big fan of them in my teen ages and I think I still am. They were special. And I think they still are. So good!
When I heard Head left the band I thought this would be the eventual end of an era of the long time band I've jammed out to for so many years. But they kept pushing on and this night happened along with his return to the band and all is normal again in my metal world.
Something about this video, just gives me chills. I mean, I've seen Korn twice now, and they ALWAYS have such an amazing tempo and performance. JD just gives his all. But this, you can tell it's special. No matter how many times I've seen Korn or will see them, Nothing can compare to this moment, the vibe is amazing.
I was fortuanate enough to be there ( on side of the stage) the crowd was intense . You couldn't really tell by this recording. All the bands that played that day were teasing the fans about Head hanging out with Korn. The crowd even chanted Korn while Evanescence were playing.
exactly what is happening.. How he feels when he walks on stage.. how it was playing and how the crowd was.. and all that..You should totally read his book!
Korn was one of the first bands that I got introduced to back when they first got started. Seen Em in Oakland in 96.. been a fan ever since.. to see Head come out and preform I'm not ashamed to say that I got chocked up as well.. That was amazing!
I like that they didn't aim to get a David clone. I like his style and what it lent to Korn, but I also like that they brought in a new musician and let him be a musician instead of telling him to pretend to be the last musician.
It's simply because he's not the original member. But Silvera is nowhere near the drummer that Luzier is. Plus the band has pretty much made it clear that Ray's here to stay. He's clean, he's got great stories, and he's professional. Plus it takes an excellent drummer and a fully professional musician to be able to back David Lee Roth for 8+ years because that man is not easy to deal with.
My six year old with long braids crawled in my lap and asked what she could do fun with her hair. She'd heard Metal in the car but she just saw it. Life...changed. She now knows what amazing things she can do with her hair. She just ran out to show her younger brother. It's hard to explain. I just had a life-memory with my children. Thanks, guys. Sincerely.
Love it when Head walks off at the end, puts his arm around Monkey and simply says "I love ya brother".... Having read both of Head's books, made that part even more sweeter for me.
Thanks for that. Never knew it was their 1st song on their 1st album. It's a trip to be taught about the Lord from a band such as this. God speed His love to you. Jah bless
I'm so glad the band was so receptive of him rejoining. Head is and always will be a huge part of Korns identity. I met him just recently, and he is truly a man of the Lord. He had a speaking engagement where I live, and I not only met him but got a pic and he signed my my book!
I'm just reading this part in Head's book and I had to rewatch this scene. After reading what was going on backstage this hits on another level. A legendary moment and very emotional. I'm so glad about how things have turned out. So fuqin happy for them. ❤❤
Chills man.. I already was a KoRn fan but after reading Head's "Save Me From Myself" and Fieldy's "Got The Life" I got a new found love for them going way deeper than before!! I still have my KoRn shirt from when I was 16 (28 now) xD lol
Every single member of Korn, makes up Korn and what we all love... If Head isn't present, something is missing, if Munky isn't present, something is missing. If Fieldy isn't present, something is missing, Ray isn't present, something will also be missing. And of course, if JD isn't there, then a lot is missing, as well. I am writing this in response to everyone who's saying "Head IS Korn!", people, Korn is way more than just one person, but definitely if there is a missing piece, it will be noticed. And for those of you who are wondering "What about David!? He was a big part too!", I will say this, his drumming styles from Korn's first 4 albums are definitely wholly his own and are missed, but he himself started to leave his roots behind as the band progressed to make music, so in all honesty, I missed him quite a while back, but have now gotten over him. Ray freaking ruled on The Nothing.

I was just reading Eyes wide open and just this particuliar moment when Brian is playing Blind. So I stop my read and watch this vidéo :-) Amazing moment
I was there. The audio didn't pick it up well, but our screams were deafening! This took me back to my high school days and I was jumping, and screaming as if I was still 15! It was amazing! I was a part of history!
The great thing about this night was that Brian was in there crowd with his daughter and Johnathan got word about it. Invited both of them on stage and asked Brian to jam. That's all it took for Brian to join KoRn once again. Imagine how proud his daughter was that night!!
If you watch the documentary Loud Krazy Love, you'll know that isn't true. Brian was there with the band that he was a member of at the time. He went and met and spoke privately with Munkey and the guys and agreed to play the song with them. His daughter was with him, but he was performing there also.
Did you make this up yourself, or are you repeating something you never bothered to research? I'm genuinely curious as to why/how you came to the decision to type a story that is so easily debunked.

It was awesome to see Brian beaming with the excitement of being back on stage with his bro's. He rocked that performance.
He played with the Christian Metal band Red earlier that day and then this happened which lead to his return 🤘🏻💯
Brian Head Welch played in a Christian band "love and death"
Imagine a show where ALL the original five members were onstage together again after all these years? KoRn's YT channel better not mute the crowd audio too much either...
@@mrconfusion87nobody gives a flying toss about David anymore.
He burned his bridges.

Definitely not a bad thing
He’s human lol
He is freaking LEGEND!!!!
I haven’t been able to find it lately but there was an old video of them performing Daddy…
I love when he cries
Don't worry peeps, the crowd did go crazy it's just a lil muted
It's a soundboard recording. The only mics set up are the mics for the amps, drumkit and vocals.
I'm glad to hear that, because the entire time watching this I was thinking wtf is wrong with these people I would've been losing mind!!

Interesting the first song he plays again with them is "blind".
