The part where you mentioned that “if the upper linkage is moving, the idle isn’t high enough” may be what I needed to hear to save me. Tried to sync yesterday and was wracking my brains on why it was all over the place.
Thanks for putting this up! After the rear cylinder of my Vee sucked all the Marvel Mystery Oil out of my yard-stick manometer this morning, I built one like yours. Waiting for SUGRU to cure and will do it again tomorrow. Subscribed.
Yes, I just used water with some dye. With this setup there’s virtually no danger of sucking any of it into the engine like there are with some of the other DIY manometers
Great video. Just a couple quick questions. Did you use 5/32 or 1/8 ID tubing? What material did you use to seal the tubes going in and out of the jars? It almost looks like Plummer putty.
Nick Velalis I don’t recall what size tubing it was. It was just what I had laying around. I actually think the black tubing is some leftover drip irrigation tubing from the garden. To seal around the tubes going into the jars I used SUGRU, but again this was just because I had it. You could use epoxy, silicone, or even hot melt glue. Anything that will seal up.
Thanks for the reply! I ended up going with silicone, since that is all I had laying around in the basement. I guess I will know tomorrow if it holds up. Thanks again!
On tl1000 and dl1000 models its .25 tube with inside like 3/16 I think. You can use aquarium tubing & it's cheap. I saw this style homemade manometer on a forum & it's pretty cool. Been trying to sync my tls last few days, having complications lol

Excellent video Dustin, thank you for sharing...
Very good idea on carb syn. Given all connections are air tight it is as accurate as any expensive store bought setup. Thank you for the video.
That is a friggin genius sync tool! Great job.
Great job. Good advice on idle setting. I will follow your method exactly. A big thanks.

So, great video, except at the end I am confused asa to why the fluids levels became different when you lowered the idle. Were the secondaries off?
Great video thanks!
Bryce Stroup thanks for watching
Awesome video. Any chance we can get instructions for your type of manometer? Thanks.
Did it make a different?
Congratulations on the video friend. One question, what liquid did you use in the container. Could it be just water?

@@DustinRogersinMO perfect friend. Thanks. I'm building one just like you did. Thank you for the video and I return to my question.
Whoops. Sorry, should've checked more of your description. Thanks again.
