This is a result of the fed and how your government dealt with covid. A handful of people have complete control of the economy and operate entirely separate from congress. Using horrendous tools like QE, which is buying up bonds to provide liquidity and causing horrible inflation, while your government over issues those bonds, crowding out the private sector and reducing the flow of money. None of this would even be happening if congress was held accountable and the fed didn’t have unwavering power over the monetary system. Actually crazy how people tend to overreact the fed imo is doing the right thing. The effect of lowering inflation is going to cause unemployment to go a bit higher but it’s extremely necessary in the short run. Otherwise prices on goods will run rampant living just won’t be affordable and it barely is for many people and can get worse. It’s a necessity in the short run. Once rate cuts kick in consumer data is going to get better and companies will start hiring again as their profits will start to rise. It’s crazy how all of a sudden everyone comes out and says recession for an economic necessity. And for the people saying other TH-camrs been calling it out well there’s people always calling a recession out like everyday of the year there’s a new video on it. So yes when things get shaky and people get scared this is what happens. Just normal market fluctuations and overreactions.

If you want to make money in the market, do everything opposite of what Karen says. The Fed is still in a tightening stance, so if you "don't fight the Fed" you are actually selling and sitting in cash right now and NOT buying. I love Carter and Mike, but cringe every time Karen opens her mouth. There are so many great female financial analysts on Wall Street, she isn't one of them.
