The connections we make with others are a large part of shaping who we are. For better or worse, we must eventually look inward and see if we are content with those connections. Time to Dive into the Heart.
This is a release video of my custom Final Sora boss hack for Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. I will likely be using this creation to make other videos as well. A couple of ideas I already have are to showcase me taking no damage against Final Sora, and making a version that will work in boss versus boss battles. I wish to show myself taking no damage to prematurely deflect accusations of this being a Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep or Dream Drop Distance boss.
The story here is that after Ansem the Wise destroys himself, the blast that knocked out everyone sent Sora and Riku into a collective dive into the heart sequence. A mysterious entity wanted to test the friendship and power Sora and Riku wield. These trials were to see if the two were truly strong enough to overcome the challenge against Xemnas and Kingdom Hearts. To pass, they must face off against the darkness tainting the hearts of those connected to Sora. Once Sora and Riku have dispelled the darkness around them, the final trial lays ahead: an illusion of Sora capable of striking the duo with unmitigated light. You will always be your worst enemy.
Once the Final Form Sora has been defeated, Sora and Riku reawaken to continue on their way with the rest of their friends to defeat Xemnas. And that's the story of how Final Sora could have been unlocked instead of utilizing RNG.
Dive into the Darkness is a series of edited videos that do not tie in with each other. Rather, the purpose of these is to re-imagine the story told by the Kingdom Hearts universe, using Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix as a way to put visuals to it. Enjoy!

(I have a minor quirk with those stained glass designs for Roxas and Xion. I know they're "official" but having Saix and Xemnas but not ROXAS on Xion's station is just....)
I know, it's bad. Maybe Square did that because Roxas forgot about her, but the others might still have some way of remembering her? Like how Sora saw her in KH3D for a bit. Or maybe it has to do with people shaping who she was, like Xemnas and Saix creating her while she stole Sora's memories. As for Axel... being her friend? Or it could just be dumb.

I have a question but have you ever lost a boss fight in the making of your videos reason I ask is because I see you get hit so much that it had me wondering that this has to be hard to pull off while recording the footage. Also I like how the heartless was re colored black especially the morning stars like they should have a new name like Midnight or something like that anyway great work on this project and the same to those who helped you make this video possible keep at it.
I died on this one quite a few times because I tried to go for more cinematic gameplay rather than smart at many points.

Everytime you respawn, you'll be paranoid about Sora's existence, is he going to come back, is he going to kill you again and again knowing full well that you can't die, does being immortal even worth it for the sheer amount of pain and torture you'll get from Sora beating you mercilessly to grind his stats.

You used Valor, Anti, Wisdom, and Master Form. But you didn't use Limit Form?
I ended up having to disable it for the boss fight because Limits make your party disappear. I can't let players temporarily remove the no HUD party member.

I swear, someone has GOT to convince Nomura to make this the cannon way of getting Final Form in KHII. Of course it has to be easier, and all Drive Forms should be useable without party members. Also, I like your message being a twist on using the darkness without succumbing to it, but it's the LIGHT instead. Powerful storytelling my guy. Major props to you.
When some one is dying they should change the sound the heart monitor makes to sora's low health beeping.
If someone was confined to a hospital bed and could only hear the low health siren, I am pretty sure that would speed up the death.

@@KevinEontrainer381 Curaga can't cure disease. Esuna might, but we can't be sure. And lots of Disney worlds have magical situations specific to them, which require the local flavor of magic to fix. The Keyblade can't solve everything.
When Sora, Riku, and Final Form Sora get close together in this fight, it makes me think of those moments in cartoons where characters disappear in smoke clouds while fighting, fists and stars flying out of the clouds. Only here, it's Keyblades.

It really is, though. Final Sora has only one attack pattern, repeated endlessly, and he leaves himself open when it loops. Just like a scrub KH2 player who only mashes the X button and hopes being over-leveled will be enough.
Glorious. Better explanation for Final Form and the de-Anseming of Riku, that's for sure.
If I had to nitpick, it'd either be all of the music belong to Heart Dives (even though that's the point) and Boss Sora's constant deflect SFX, but it matches the attacks on-screen. It sounds like "light" so it ain't broke.
I wanted the music to match the theme, since I presented it as if it was all part of the game. Someone else was annoyed by the deflect sounds. I might remove them in a later version if they frustrate too many people.

If you play the RNG minigame, yeah. This is what I feel would have been better than just driving a bunch and walking back into The Brink of Despair to reset the drive counter over and over. Glad you enjoyed the video!
To be fair, when considering how much louder that sound effect is compared to the music, let alone most of the other sound effects... And how frequently it was being played... To me it sounded as if the PS2's sound card was melting at first.

I like the idea of a boss that goes ham on you, and you have to survive, while it only gives you a second to breathe. Of course also letting you attack back
This is something Birth By Sleep gets horribly wrong which I wanted to avoid. You can have ham bosses while keeping them fair with openings and consistent flinching from those openings. They could have made No Heart a good boss if he did two or three crazy moves in separate patterns and then stood still for a while.
They have one. It’s called Lingering Will
That's actually the feeling I got from Final Xemnas. He's fighting Sora and Riku at the same time, in their full power, but he not only keeps up, you'll spend half the fight just dodging and trying desperately to keep each other alive.
Unless, of course, you grinded up to Level 99 beforehand. But even that won't guarantee victory in the Data Battles.
The in-battle dialogue scripts should have been subtitled as well.

It just felt a bit chunky, like when the characters were just standing around and talking and at the very beginning after the first cut scene. Overall I never even thought this was possible so props on you for that, to improve would be to just polish it up a bit and make it run smoother during cut scenes.

Well, Summons and Limits had to be disabled to avoid crashing. Valor/Wisdom/Master/Anti-Form can still be used, though.

That's what is used to allow Valor, Wisdom, Master, and Anti in the Final Sora boss battle. I believe you have to apply these codes and reboot the ISO for them to work on emulator.

Thanks man! I intentionally made the boss able to chase Master Form in the air for a while due to how high the boss can carry you while you're in that form.

The game technically never outright states Master Form is weaker than final Form what are your thoughts?
Master Form is more stylish, but Final Form has more damage output. Master Form is better because of the style.
I personally like Valor Form because of the pure devastation late game but I like how Master is a combination of both Valor and Wisdom, Power and Knowledge, combining to make a stronger form, Final is just a perfected version, but yeah I like both Master and Valor the same.

That's incredible that you were able to make Sora a boss like that. I imagine taking his moves and converting them like that wasn't very easy.
Very difficult to get balanced timing down along with hitboxes that could actually combo the player. Took many months of work.
How do you do custom boss battles, I would like to do one with Kairi and her keyblade
