    I didn't see the part where you can lock the tape in place after you have pulled it out. So does that part work also?

    • @diyroby732
      @diyroby732  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it does. That part only needs to lock the tape when you push down, so it is working fine.

    I'll try to fix anything. As long as you can read this tape, it still works. However...
    I think the biggest lesson learned is that it would have been cheaper to buy another one.
    For only a Euro, you got you're money's worth out of that thing.
    But thanks for taking the time to upload.

      Yeah you're right. I actually have 3 more tapes lined up beside this on my shelf, so it's just my love for diy and fixing stuff (and possibly reducing my contribution to the landfill) that made this video possible. It's actually suprising how many people have watched it lol.

      @@diyroby732 I can't stand throwing anything useful away. I'm a little bit of a pack rat. If it works, it's NOT garbage. And I LOVE fixing things. Sometimes I might hang on to something too long because the moment I toss it, I'll wind up needing it. I rarely ever buy tape measures. Rulers never go bad.
      Best of luck to ya!

    Okay so um I just broke a measuring tape, and I don’t understand anything of what you’re supposed to do, but my problem is that the measuring tape itself is tinted, and I can’t put it inside again!!

    Good job, thank you! Not that saves a lot of money, but appreciate the way of thinking: never throw away anything that is repairable!( Or anything that you can use for some other purpose! ... So I have full basement of "sometimes maybe useful" things! :laugh:)

    By hand you are pushing inside

    • @diyroby732
      @diyroby732  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Jithin. Unfortunately the camera was too close so you dont see it. Although not as strongly as when it worked, it still retracts by itself because there is still a very powerful spring coil inside. The last 5-10 cm I have to help it go in because the loaded springs power is almost finished.
