  • In this video you're going to learn how DC gear motor works, and how to use gear motor speed control with L298N. This is a beginning of a fun experience on how to make a robot. Be sure to make Arduino Projects yourself to get the most out of this experience.
    With that said, here's what I'm going to cover in this video.
    #1 First we will discus the most important charactersitics of dc gear motor and how to use them to make a robot.
    #2 You'll learn the composition of these motors and how to assemble and test them.
    #3 Learn exactly how dc gear motor works with visualy appealing CGI through an easy arduino project.
    #4 Now that you understand how dc gear motor works I will show you step by step, how to wire the motor driver L298N with Arduino for gear motor speed control.
    #5 You will learn how to quickly create a code to have gear motor speed control.

    Note that with the L298N motor controller you can also control the speed of the motor using:
    analogWrite(in1,255);
    analogWrite(in2,0);
    Where 255 is the desired speed value (255 is the max speed). Replace it to 127 for half speed, 0 for stop. Reverse the values between in1 and in2 for the reverse direction. You can do the same with other motors (in3 and in4 in his tutorial).

    Very good video. Thank you. The problem I face with 2 motors in a car/tank is with speed synch between them. Would you recommend of using one motor with a gear that can distribute different speeds to allow turns? Also, I wonder if such a great can be 3D printed.
