When I take into account how much passive speakers cost in addition to the necessary amplifiers, pre-amps, dacs, etc., then the KEF JS60 speakers are really quite a bargain. Truly worth considering!

ive got the LS50Wmk1, the sound is awesome - these will be several levels above mine...
And then with passive you lose all of the DSP optimisations. Not to mention it's damn hard to find 700Wpc amplification... ;)

I definitely want to hear these and compare to the B&W Duo. I just picked up the Klipsch 5's for a compact living room setup and they sound incredible for the price, leaps and bounds above any soundbar. Maybe these or the Duo's + a Sub is my dream setup :)

I think this is a peek into the future of Audio. Speakers with optimized internal amplifiers and electronic crossovers take the guess work away from system matching and eliminate the large stack of receivers, streamers, cd players etc.

For owners of the LS50W2s, would you describe the LS60 as a 'definite upgrade' or more just a shift from standmount to floorstander?
Great question, obviously they have a similar sonic character. The LS60 actually images better due to the cabinet that is narrower. And has more bass, which does also add warmth to the midrange. Thanks for watching
I have limited space for a dedicated music listening space so I wonder how they would be for home theater? Do they make a center channel or are they not required?
These are perfect for spaces like you have. Right now there is not a center speaker, but the Uni-Q design throws out a big sound. Thanks for watching
Can you connect 4 of these together for surround sound? Or couple them with the other wireless book shelf speakers in the kef range?
Also, can you use them as left and right with a traditional ht receiver setup?
No and no and no. These are stand alone. They do have an HDMI connection to get TV sound to them, but are designed to be used as a stereo pair. Thanks for watching

In a way, yes. They utilize Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) - one of KEF's latest acoustic innovations. It's a highly complex maze-like structure that sits behind the tweeter to absorb 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the driver, eliminating the resulting distortion and providing purer, more natural sound. I like the look and the deeper bass than the LS50. HOWEVER I have only been able to tolerate their driver with Conrad Johnson PV10 pre and MV45 amp and totl Mullard 80s tubes. With solid state very fatiguing.
Interesting, we did not find them fatiguing at all, but to each his own. It sounds like you really enjoy tube sound! Thanks for sharing
