I like my cheap imported stuff as much as everyone else. But this is a great reminder to buy American made when you can. And I hope they have an executive suite for Calvin!
Agreed. Bought a Cyclospirit derailleur hanger alignment gauge tho king it couldn’t be too far off from the big boy version. It wasn’t that much cheaper at like 49$, compared to like 79$ I think for the dag2. It was basically unusable. The main connector has slop in the fitting and thus has no way of properly aligning the hanger, and is basically good to get it in range but not really a precisely aligned setup. Fine if you want to tune an 8 speed but bring it into modern drivetrains and it’s trash. But once cry once when it really matters
@@maxmotors9497 Totally went thru the same hassle of derailleur hanger alignment tools, ended up just buying a bunch of new hangers from the shop I got my bike from.
Full vertical integration. Great (and not surprised) to see an excellent company still doing it the quality way instead of outsourcing to the cheapest supplier.
The general tools, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers etc will be outsourced, Unior on the other hand do make all their own tools with steel from their own foundry
our family visited Park Tools in St. Paul about a week ago .. We got to talk to Calvin and he is great guy. We will also cherish our visit to all at Park Tools .. thanks
IMO the best part of this video is the small parts section. Most, if not all, business’ don’t offer small part replacement. Thank you Park Tool® for offering this option and making it very simple through website ordering.
I'm a toolmaker by trade and a cyclist when I'm not in my shop. This is awesome. My Park Tools are to my bike as my Snap-On and Starrett tools are for my machine work. Good stuff! Take good care of the Calvin. He's your most important asset☺🚴♂️🛠
My very first Park Tool tool was the HCWS6 threaded headset and pedal wrench bought in the late 80s....still have it plus countless other Park Tool additions since then. Thank you Park Tool for decades of helping out cyclists!
Park has always impressed me with what you guys do! It's incredible that the stuff is still mostly US made and comes out of one factory to so many countries. The innovation is still there too, which is nice as a shop employee that's always looking for more tools lol.
Thanks for the tour I always love to see the history of a good company, love your videos Calvin they're very clear to understand & they've been a great help to me I'm only a diy-er but you've kept my bike on the road for several years now I've also got some of your tools they are good quality & do exactly as intended - Ade from the UK 👍
Thanks for the tour Eric. Your tools help me keep our families 20+ bikes riding like new. My friends send their bikes over for service too. My first Park Tool is a flip out Allen set that is probably 40 years old now and still works perfectly. Thanks for the attention to detail and the great quality!
I learned TONES thanks to your videos - thank you guys! And even I bought few of your tools - they are quite expensive for home use but still - quality is first class!
WOW. Just super impressed the they have their entire R&D, design, testing, manufacturing, sales, support, shipping, & literally everything else under one roof! It feels so… _old fashioned!_ But like, in a really good way ☺️ - Also, just love the clear thought and care they put into everything, from the quality of their products, to the way they treat their workers. It makes me feel good about paying a premium to always get the _BEST._ And, I love the brilliance of being super open about the bike shop 😆 - by encouraging their employees to use it for everything (even their own or friends & family’s bikes), they’re simultaneously improving their worker’s experience, and widening the range of different bikes & parts they get to test their tools on, ensuring that problems/new needs are found, and that their products remain always the best 😊.
Great video. I’ve been buying your tools for over 40 years. Very high-quality. I did not know they were all made in United States. Like to see a more in-depth tour maybe take the bicycle repair stand and show how it’s made in every step of the way. Look forward to your next video.
Awesome video and story!! Bravo Park Tool team! Best cycle tools. Thank you for sharing an amazing story. Very impressive that you make all tools in that location. My admiration to Eric, the founders and all your team that makes a successful business.
Interesting, informative, and makes me even more want to buy more Park tools… Calvin doesn’t seem to be the exception, even the owner seems like someone I’d like to have a beer with!!
Thanks, very cool video. I only have one Park Tool so far, the thing with the chain parts on it to lock the rear cassette sprocket, but I've seen them in many categories and I'll always consider getting another one
I’m proud to own my growing selection of Park Tools. Like my PCS-4-2 Deluxe Home Mechanic Repair Stand. I bought this recently to handle the greater weight of my new e-bike. I own an ‘06 Trek 7500 Multitrack and a ‘22 Specialized Vado 4.0. I have the Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair as my guide.
When you're tired from a job that uses your computer all day, Park Tool videos can cheer you up. I'm going to try a little harder. Sometimes you may want to adjust your bike a bit. Thank you very much. I can't buy too many products, but I have PCS-10.3, TS-8, TM-1, SW-0, TW-2.2, TWB-15, MWF-3, AWS-1, HT-8, CNW-2, PH-5, SCW-13~15, CC-3.2, and recently I bought an AV-1 and BBB-4 (kindle) for myself. I gave the MTB-5 as a gift to a colleague who is retiring from the company. Except for PCS 10.3, most of the tools cost less than 3,000 yen, so they fit my budget. I use LC-1, PPL-1, HPG-1, and ASC-1 all the time. Someday, like Calvin, I would like to be able to adjust the cup and cone ball bearings on the hub well.
Fourth factory location… I really hoped to see a large ‘F-4’ (or maybe ‘HQ-4’) sign on your building, in keeping with your tool-naming convention 😁 Keep doing what you’re doing, Park Tools 🙂👍
In the early 80s I bought a TS2 from your White Bear Ave. store. If I remember correctly it was made in the back of the shop. Still using it over forty years later. Even used it in the bike repair classes I taught at the local high school.
"It's also where we keep Calvin..." 😂🤣😂
Free Calvin !!!👍

That assembly area doesn't look big enough to make I think he said 500 tools. They have to be outsourcing.

Thank you for making the best bike tools... And keeping manufacturing in the USA
Not sure they are the best, but they do make some good products
Not every tool that they sell is perfect out the door but that's where their fantastic aftersales support comes in. Great video!
Of all the people I've listened to on TH-cam who teach you how to do something, Calvin is at the top of the list.
The best bike tools on the market.
They are pretty good but Unior is top notch quality!
@@interceptor7905 Not really on park tools level when it comes to bike tools though is it. 🤡

They don't (nor do they claim) make 100% of their tools in-house. The HXS-1.2, for instance, is supposedly outsourced to Bondhus.
Fascinating insight...im a big fan of your products, in London UK.
Tools and tool storage as well as mobile solutions thanks you
I like ParkTool because it is practical. I would like to see a general-purpose bicycle repair stand made available at a reasonable price.
Outstanding tour from an outstanding company. Thanks for the great tools!
Good old American manufacturing of quality products that I use often!
