Another fun fact: That world record is actually separate from the current World Record of 98.48 meters, as a few years after the original record was set, the Javelin was redesigned to be more stable and safe.
@PhoenicopterusR the reasons for the changes make sense. When the original record was set, the javelin landed only about 15 feet from officials under some canopies. The other issue was if the javelin did not have a good angle at launch, when it would come down, it would slide, not allowing for an accurate marker. They moved the center of gravity 4 inches up to allow it to almost always stick in the ground. The negative side was that getting it to the original record was impossible.

To fix it I either had to wait 30 days for the claimant to not respond to my appeal or use something else. So I used the system they have to delete the background music. It does mess up the audio a little bit but it's better than the section being muted or not there.
