@@jeanmarclebneen Unfortunatley Tigran’s mix of jazz, Armenian Folk music, metal, and electronic music, is pretty unique to him. There’s some middle eastern jazz that’s pretty good but nowhere near what Tigran is doing.

@@joebaer1358 My question was mainly for @SekiroKratos. I don't expect to discover music with the same level as Tigran's, I'm simply curious about other jazz musicians since I have Armenian heritage from my grandparents and love jazz/folk combined. Btw, I grew up in Sweden and if you don't mind a more subtle jazz, I can highly recommend the late piano player Jan Johansson's folk album "Jazz på svenska". It is just brilliant imo :)

I agree. The grandiose Berklee production, as perfectly executed as it was, effectively became a saturation of sounds (it even had two drummers).
This trio somehow made a bigger impact than the ensemble, because they were so ridiiiiiiiculously precise... uuugh, every beat was literally a punch in the stomach!!!😆

Might be something he picked up from Chick Corea, who I've seen do that. Tigran has also confirmed that he's a big Chick fan on an instagram post.
It's more common in classical music. Also, you can pluck the strings of the piano to produce a pizzicato sound with a bit more sustain.

For the description, Drip is from "Shadow Theater" not "Mockroot." Easy to misremember either way, equally as gorgeous, two of my favorite albums of all time.
