I was appalled at the price of the SSS envelope dies. One is $40 and the other is $45. That is ridiculous for a die that does 1 size and you have to assemble it. I don't know how they put this stuff out there with a straight face. Honestly, SSS and the influencers hawking these dies should be ashamed of themselves. Thank you for this video for the wrmk envelope and box maker. It is my go to and works fabulous at a fraction of the cost!!!

You are the most awesome person on the Internet! I have watched many videos demonstrating how to use the envelope maker. Each video was so complicated with different measurements and twisting the paper, that I finally retired mine. Then!!!!!! I happened to find your video. Making an envelope is now as easy as pie. I am so excited! Thank you a million times! May God bless you and your loved ones during this year and beyond.

Love my env punch board, luv making pretty envelopes for all sizes plus env boxes for fat cards or card packs. Fun way to use paper packs that are laying around screaming ‘use me, use me’. Thanks for adding a dose of practicality to the buying a die for everything movement.

The We are memory keepers has one that also does envelope boxes for bulky cards or adding several cards. You can get it at Micheals with a coupon so quite cheap especially in Canada.i also use a small Velcro circle to close my envelopes. Can get them at the dollar store especially if not mailing.

I find the puch board way easier to use than the die. I saw a video from Jennifer Mcquire. You have to run the die throug your cutting maschine twice because it's so big and doesn't fit by one turn and the die for the sites also twice and then have to glue the pieces together. With the bunch board you can also make envelopes in sizes they're maybe not listed just by trying out. Sometimes I need envelopes in unususal sizes. Maybe that needs a bit of messurements by you only have to do it once. I wrote down what I found out and can always take a look at them. To find the right messurements you only have to messure the diagonal plus half or one inch and you have the paper size. Lay your card in the middle of that paperand fold the edges in. Then I put the paper in my punch board and write down the messurements for the scoring. 😊

Punch board is so much better than the dies because you can make so many sizes. Thanks for reminding us of our punch boards! And one thing about the dies that really bothers me is that the envelope you make is in pieces and you have to assemble it. So your envelope is only going to be as sturdy as the glue you use on the edge flaps. Too many things can go wrong with that in the mail.

Probably could have gotten it for $10 had I read the comment below first (special sale? Any who... - I'm okay with the $12.00 by far a better deal than the 2 new dies at $40.00. OMG, I so agree with you. I wrote a review for the Simon Says dies and they wouldn't post it because I said it wasn't worth the money. They they want $40 for A2 and $45 for a bar 4 size. That's crazy expensive and only makes one size per die. And if you have hand issues, the dies aren't necessarily easier so save your money and find one of these punch boards.

WeRMK still makes one of these in their own colors. There are also some of the score boards that include things for making envelopes. You are right Nancy, unless a person has money to burn, there are much cheaper ways to make envelopes. Look at the back of your score boards (Martha Stewart, and EK Success for sure).

There is often the question asked...name so many tools that you couldn't live without and always one of my answers is my envelope board....I have used mine for years and will use it for years to come...the dies do not make a quicker or easier die either...the only difference is you can make the larger die with letter size paper but I have so much 12 x 12 paper for envelopes that even that doesn't make it worth buying the dies..

Amen!!! These envelope makers by We R Memory Keepers are much better to use, I have the newer 1 2 3 punchboard that makes envelopes, bows, and boxes, and also makes thicker envelopes for more interactive cards too. As well, when such a large open die is made like these envelope dies by SSS, I have seen some manufacturers with integrity would add other dies in the middle areas where the metal would be wasted and they have been included in the price.. I am assuming that SSS has manufactured other dies in the inner areas and are charging separately for them, it would be silly not to use that metal but to me, if I am buying the envelope dies, these dies should come with the envelope dies. Just my own opinion...

I bought WRMK’s all-in-one thingie for almost the same amount as that SSS die so I’m happy. Had to use a coupon but still. If I really must have that SSS die, I’ll wait until they have 30% sale on SSS brand dies.

Thanks for today's tutorial, its inspiring and I feel enlightened. I've got a WRMK punchboard but felt awkward using it. Still I have a question. Most of my cardstock is 8.5 x 11. and I like the larger cards. So how do you make envelopes from standard size 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock? I've been making them from 2 sheets but the envelopes look like the legal type. It would be wonderful to make them as you have, just larger. Thank you in advance. With appreciation.

I buy 12×12 scrapbook paper if I can't cut it down. You can also tape paper together 2 pieces of thinner paper side by side and then do another piece over top (like a quilt) to cover the tape. I'll try to demonstrate next time.

The dies are way too expensive. I have a punch board like this I got second hand and it works perfectly. I recommend everyone look up "Envelope Punch Board Calculator" on their app store/play store. It's an awesome app to make any size envelope for any size card using this punch board. Just plug in the size of the card and it will tell you the size of paper and where to score at.

I would need the dies as I have Multiple Sclerosis and after making a good few it would pay for itself. buy bulk pack envelopes are expensive for good quality and there is no waste as you make as you go I like to be as eco-friendly as possible,
But I really do like your idea it would just be easier for me but helping people save money in this economy is great.
