"they say the birds here carry the souls of fallen skiers and climbers who lived and died in this mountains. When you watch them soaring the wind, you imagine who they might have been. If they could speak. wonder what they would tell us" Who tf put onions in here...
This amazing short film (part 1 & 2) was originally an Arcteryx featured video in one of their blogs/on their website. Powder seems to have scooped it up and ruined the best part of the short film by getting the audio wrong during Commes does Enfants. Shame.
Not the same anymore, Alpe D Huez or the SATA group took over and the times are changing fast. Big Investors with the wrong vision. Sad times ahead, just the vibe and changes in the 3 years since they took over are noticeably more dramatic every year. Wasting money on commercialising the place. Its pretty much a ski resort now.
Some of my buddies think I'm crazy, but "tactical"skiing through rocks, trees, manky snow and other obstacles is WAY more fun and challenging to me than a wide open bowl full of perfect powder!
That's correct it's one of the only place where there is one to my knowledge. This one indicates that you're going on the glacier which is obviously a dangerous place so it's important to let people know. To my knowledge there is also one near the bottom of the mountain because there is a 200m cliff afterwards. There rest is blank, come check it out its great stuff
..."living and surviving in these mountains"... - That kind of lines is exactly what a freeskier needs to loose all credibility. Issue is, these guys just can't stop issuing them! Great skiing though.
We have seen this hundreds of times. Never gets old.
