Thanks for doing this! Many of your competitors, like the j-holes at Apple, should be doing things like this rather than making repair and upgrades near impossible which then creates more landfill waste because people just replace the entire product. That is unethical by any number of reasons. +1 for HP. I will be getting one of the new chrome base units.
Thank you HP 💕 we like that you think about Upgrading in mind , thanks 🙏 for making an Awesome Chromebase Desktop 🖥️ I was just saying we need Chromebased desktops too
A note for anyone with the newer model, the bottom plastic base was added on and 6 of the 9 screws are below the rubber pad (other 3 are on the bottom vent once you remove that base. Also, the RAM has a metal cover over it. Pops right off though.

Hi, I have a 128 GB SSD and I would like to replace the 16GB eMMC with that SSD. I guess I would need to install the OS image on that new drive but where could I obtain a OS image for this device? Or maybe there is another way to clone the eMMC to an SSD inside Chrome OS? Thanks!
Hi there, thanks for contacting HP Global Social Media Support! I understand that you need to know about way to clone the eMMC to an SSD inside Chrome OS. I will do my best to assist you. @@HPSupport Thank you for the quick reply! I just found an article online on how to make a recovery image on Chrome OS. Just to explain, a big German retailer sold it as B-ware (refurbished) and their specs by the seller stated a 4 GB of RAM and 16GB eMMc drive. When I put the serial number in HP support website I see that the computer originally had 8GB of RAM and 256 NVME SSD. It is sad to see a reputable retailer do this to a product and sell it as "used" and not "downgraded"...
