1080p also looks worse on higher resolution monitors. Best to have a lower resolution monitor so you can push higher frame rates on other games without sacrificing much in sharpness
Basically the diminishing return thing is this: with a 60hz monitor each frame is a 60th of a second. Or 0.016 seconds approx and a 144hz is 0.00694 and a 240 is 0.00416 and a 390 is 0.002564 if you look at the difference in frame time for each it constantly gets lower and lower becuase each one is simply shorter so it becomes harder to notice and is a smaller difference

1000$ dollars is not much, here in Brazil everything is 5 times more expensive and more difficult to get money, here the minimum wage is 1100 R$, 1100R$ is 300$ there, a monitor like this one is around 6000R$
60hz is fine with me the only real problem is you can sometimes see ur cursor more if u go really fast. I think 144hz is way more than you need i do use 60hz.

I know this video has been up for months but I have another thing to say about the “diminishing returns” for a high refresh rate monitor, which is the fact that the higher the refresh rate means that you can’t have a higher resolution. The 390hz monitor supports up to 1080p resolution and 1440p for 240hz. I have a 4K 144hz monitor which is nice for both refresh rate and resolution however I cannot get any refresh rate higher than that because it’s 4K. So thought I’d just mention that as well. You may want a balance of both like me.

if you're playing bedwars or a competitive shooter like counter strike chances are you're not playing at 1440p, not even 1080p on counter strike. personally on cs i used 4:3 1280 x 960 which obviously isn't even close to 1440p. 1440p@240hz is better for more recent demanding titles with great graphics. but to play the most demanding games today at high/ultra 1440p@240hz you would need at least a 3070, preferably even a 3080 or above to justify spending 700-800 dollars on a monitor like that. but in today's market, those gpus are very difficult to get

Going from 240hz to 390 would be hardly noticeable for the human eyes seeing the human eyes sees around 40 fps (could be wrong) but something around that. Also don’t forget that if you want quality images you are probably better off getting a 144hz 1440p or 4K, and i doubt you will find a 240 hz monitor under 600$ with 1440p that’s 26in+. You can’t say you are better off getting a 240 hz because most of the time it depends on the circumstances and what you plan to use it for. I assume reason this 390 hz is cheap is because its lighting and colours aren’t very good, it’s 1080p and it’s only 24.5in. Also it probably doesn’t have Gsynch FYI: I’m not sure if you knew this but I wanted to say it in case some people looking for a new monitor see this and go just buy a random cheap 240hz monitor sorry if you already knew this And also you probably aren’t gonna be able to run 390 FPS on any game aside from minecraft and roblox without having a $3000 computer with some small exceptions obviously
on my laptop when i uncap my fps i get around 500 fps on 24 render distance and 250 on 75 so im definintely buying this. The only thing i needed to hear was that 'if your using 144hz and change to 390hz itll be super smooth' and i am hella happy. just realised yt unsubbed me randomly and with 390hz i dont have to uncap my fps which means my laptop wont overheat :)

The problem that i have with these screens is that if look at all those 240 hz or higher hz screens is that the color panel is the worst that you can get also the have a low resolution which is not good and they have a higher response time, you can also just get a 144 Hz monitor that has the best color panel and a much higher resolution and a better response time. I would rather have 60 Hz monitor with the best color panel and a better response time than a 360 Hz monitor with a higher response time and bad colors and a lower resolution. This is just my opinion.
not really. there are many panels on the market that are 240 + that are ips. these panels have good colour accuracy and with a little bit of time tuning in the colours, they can look very very good, because of their ips display. refresh rate and resolution have no connection what so ever either. it does not matter where you have 240hz 1080p or 60hz 1080p, BOTH are 1080p. Furthermore, higher refresh rates actually have LOWER latency. its only the cheap monitors that have higher reaction time. higher refresh rates means that the screen refreshes more times per second, resulting in lower latency. not to mention most of the latency you experience is actually in your mouse and keyboard, and your eyes. therefore the latency is definitely less when you have a higher refresh rate. most of the decent 240 - 390 hz panels have 1 - 0.5 ms grey to grey, the same and sometimes lower then most 60hz and 144hz panels. source. me. played very high level or halo for a few years now and have tried both. trust me when i say that there is a major difference, in favour of the 390hz.
