Aldis. Hodge. I have loved him since I discovered him in the original Leverage - though I had seen him be amazing in TV shows and didn't realize it until after. And I have loved his transition to bigger and bigger parts in films - several award-winning. So, I hope Alex Cross finally gets everyone on board AND wins him a long-overdue stack of awards.

I guess it's hard to get the heights even close for Alex and John, but they always just screw up John. I mean it's not even close in none of the depictions of the character. Alex is not cocky at all, but it already looks like they are going to portray him as gawd's gift to law enforcement.

@@kiranpunnoose2441 He wasn't but he did the best he could with what he had in all honesty but the thing is, that Alex Cross film was more of an action film compared to the Morgan Freeman's Alex Cross films, which were moreso psychological mystery thrillers. When they had Rob Cohen directing it, that was a clue that it was gonna be different from the first two films with Morgan Freeman.
This looks really good. This promo is on point from start to finish. I think Prime Video has something brewing. The song selection along with the pics from the series got me engaged. Not a critic of any sorts but man I don't see how any critic will be able to speak bad about what I've seen so far. Aldis Hodge looks like he's ready to take that next step. This might definitely be a home run for him and I'm not saying he hasn't been good in other movies/series because he has. So looking forward to seeing this series.
If it wasn't for Reacher, I don't think Cross would exist. I'm so glad that it does.
Alex Cross was created before Jack Reacher in 1993, and the first Alex Cross film was Along Came a Spider stared Morgan Freeman. I don't see how the Reacher show is why we're getting this Alex Cross TV show when we got the Jack Ryan show before both of them on Amazon Prime.

Man, at 34 I just started reading the Alex Cross novels and being curious about James Patterson and loving the genre itself, so I'm excited to see this portrayal.
Aldis Hodge is a good select to depict Alex Cross. Let's hope the writing allows him to bring the books alive. So far it seems they have nailed the demeanour of the protagonist, the twisted dimension of the psychotics he pursues, and the dynamic of his own internal turmoil. Now he has a few similarities with "Luther" - but James Patterson writes Alex Cross with a more compelling complexity. Alex is excellent with little room for flaw, but his antagonists pull a lot of unexpected behaviour out of him - the lull becomes wondering if he should trust the process of his initial assessment of the "serial killer" or if he's pulling at straws trying to piece it together... LET'S hope they manage to pull this intensity through the screen. 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

And there are so many books... We could be living it up with this series for a good while... I pray the do it justice but honestly if I had to choose between Netflix, Amazon and Apple. I'd have chosen Amazon. Quiet as kept, prime video stacking up some good ones over there without the hype and noise like the others.

I have read plenty of James Patterson books but not the Alex Cross series. I think it's time. Also, it's quite wonderful to see Aldis in such "serious" movies. He played his Leverage character excellently though.
The Alex Cross movie underperformed in 2012 so the series was dormant for a while. Getting another studio like Netflix, Prime, etc to fund a reboot is financially easier than the Hollywood movie studios. Interesting that the movie had Cross’s best friend as a White Edward Burns, but appears not in this reboot series.
