Can a person who wants to become a priest in the Indian Orthodox church study here... I am 16 years old and my father is also an orthodox priest.. Could you please guide..
@@bijogeojose7209 Actually, the Indian Oriental Orthodox Church does send seminarians to STOTS. They are deeply involved in the community, and many of them became very close with me! It is regrettable they could not share the Eucharist with us, but history and doctrine keeps us separate. Still, their Priests came to celebrate their Liturgy and they traveled to Parishes on the Saturday and Sunday. As their Brother, I always welcomed them to our Liturgies and I would give them Antidoron, sometimes seeing their tears!
This place seems amazing, based on the testimonial's you provide.. I'd love to at least visit, if not relocate, but I see that you're under OCA jurisdiction. That is a problem indeed... did you know OCA is a member of the National Council of Churches, which was set up in the 60's by the communist's whose plan was the "joining of all churches"? It's obscene any Orthodox church would enter into some kind of communion with western ideas, western churches... we know specifically that we are forbidden to do this. Please leave and go under ROCOR.. wouldn't it be LOVELY to have this beautiful Seminary appropriately aligned.
there is a beautiful video recently done by an Antiochian Priest about women wearing head covering's... one thing about OCA that is stands out is the lack of proper etiquette and rule-keeping. I watch one on YT in Ohio sometimes, and I can't believe how many of the female member's wear pants (!), and no head covering. The Priest was talking about the sacredness of the woman, and how even the angel's are more afraid to talk to women than men, because the woman gives birth - as did the Mother of God - and its part in Creation represents such a holy order. His words were much better than how I'm trying to paraphrase it, but I do wish OCA would get back to the fullness of how Orthodoxy is supposed to be. His point was the importance and holiness of the veil we wear on our heads, that whenever in the presence of icons, including at home, we wear them, in honor of God, and the Mother of God.
Your Vestments are stunning! Where do you get them? ❤☦☦☦

I don't think it's allowed since the Indian Orthodox Church is an Oriental Orthodox church and this seminary is of an Eastern Orthodox church.
I was thinking that they have had Indian Orthodox students there. Contact the school direct from their website.

My son is interested in the Orthodox Priesthood. How much would tuition approximately cost? Thank you
