I agree with you that corded seniors are the best of all time, hands down, I think if they would have made the hi-viz with a little more power like around 9,000RPMs and a better quality blade they could've been the best think from wahl for trimmers ever.

Even the old first version of the Babyliss fx trimmer can do all of it , good lines , cutting down bulk, I even clipper over comb with the Babyliss fx trimmer and no problem, it’s disappointing that the hi-viz is only good to punch in lines for $200 , even the cordless detailer Li can debulk, maybe not the best but it can get the job done

Traditionally, trimmers aren’t for “bulk” cutting anyway, that’s more of a detachable Clipper job.

4:27 i cant use it to bald out bc it pulls… and when I’m punching in a line i feel the head is too angled out i need it to be angled down more i feel like I’m hitting the head with the bottom on the blade ergonomically

@@thewoodshedbarber its probably the weaker of the 3 but still a decent trimmer doe those small detail parts.

The ergonomics on these are great. The back blade being really thin reminds me of the original red fx3 trimmer with that sharp blade. Do to the thin back blade it doesn’t debulk well.

That’s exactly why I bought the wahl. And today I just tested out the babyliss goldfx and bought their fine tooth blade (FX707B) which I swapped onto it. The wahl still came out on top. It’s all about the design of the blade being so slim and smaller than the others. The stylecraft saber, the babyliss, TPOB, etc., the all use the same shape and style of blade. They all look the same. The wahl is smaller and thinner and able to be super precise for that reason. I can shape up/line up the beard on my cheeks and moustache and it’s like carving with a laser.
Back to what I was saying… This babyliss fine tooth blade (FX707B) doesn’t come on any of their trimmers, you have to buy it separately. So I knew that if I’m going to get a trimmer that can compete with the wahl hi viz, it’s going to need a small thin blade. Anyways I zero gapped both trimmers. They both did a good job on my cheeks, but the wahl hi viz was able to go even closer to the skin. I even went over my right cheek right after I just used the babyliss there, and the wahl was able to take it down even shorter. Unbelievable. As for my neck, I did the left side with the wahl and right with the babyliss. The left side with the wahl needed only one pass. One hit and done. The right side using the babyliss with their fine tooth blade needed multiple passes. But it was still pretty good. I’m not a barber I’m just looking for an easier way to maintain my fast growing beard so I’m trying out as many trimmers as I can. But I can only pick one and the wahl is super precise and quick and I’m tired of buying more trimmers so I’m soon to just throw in the towel and keep the wahl. It’s almost like shaving with a razor. Only thing is I need to slightly dial back the gap slightly further bc it’s a little too close now.

I almost like everything about the hi viz it just sucks that the blade drags when I go to debulk a lot of hair and it can get caught on the pores. It’s almost like they machine the blade teeth too aggressive. If it was smooth as the xpro blade it’ll be a 10/10 trimmer for me.

      Biggest problem it has

It’s a liner due to how thin the black blade is.

So are these better than the sabers and in your opinion what’s the best trimmer

Sabers are much better in my opinion. I would say best trimmers are sabers or cyborg. Best blade is no doubt Andis Mforce

I just ordered one as well as the wahl cordless detailer and the wahl gold cordless detailer. I’m looking for the ultimate beard trimmer because my beard grows really fast and I’m sick and tired of wet shaving. It takes so long and it’s just such a chore and I hate trying to get a perfectly symmetrical beard every time, it’s so hard with a razor. So I’m looking for something to simplify my life. So I’m so excited to try all three and pick one. My criticism of your video is that it is more of a blog. Grow your beard out and trim it and give us something to sink our teeth into, you know? All you are doing is talking. We want to see it in action. I will be making a video of my experience with these 3 trimmers and I also got the wahl hot lather machine which are all coming probably next week. I’m not affiliated in any way just a bald dude with a beard trying to minimize the chore of upkeep to my beard and head, lol, trying to simplify one of life’s tedious chores so I hope these trimmers can do that for me.

What lengths of attachment combs are available for Wahl hi-viz trimmer? 4.5 mm or maybe 5 mm? (sorry for my English).

That’s like comparing a Tesla to a power wheel. Saber all the way.

I am too my friend. It’s a nice clipper. I hope they make a gold version of that blade. It might not drag as much
