Beautiful episode! Thanks again for allowing me to tag along! I get to experience some very cool places (virtually) through you guys, and it brings me great joy! Thanks again 😊
Thanks for posting this video. You’ve made this 1170 owner to be (next year) wild with anticipation! Kivanc is a great guy…now looking forward to next weeks vid too.
Congrats on your first successful med-mooring,,,,, not a sailer here,,,, yet,,, but, living vicariously through you and the Winns and others on the web,,,, thank you for sharing parts of your adventures,,,,
Med mooring. Many years ago we had our honeymoon on Symi one of the Greek islands. We used to have breakfast in a taverna by the harbour enjoying all the raised voices as everyone tried to raise their anchors. In the hopes that they hadn't been tangled by a later arrival. At least one every day. And it wasn't always other chains but sometimes mysterious cables were brought from the deep. Symi is a great island to visit though so I hope you don't give it a miss. Apparently the Argos of Jason and the Argonauts fame was built on Symi. Looking forward to your future voyages. Oh, and Paros is well worth the trek though the Melteme does blast down through there as we found out.
First off Happy Birthday young Lady ❤, I saw dolphins fythe time with my dad in 1981, he told me that All was d good after that, never seen em again y'all but y'all showed it well, Dad's smiling ❤
Happy Birthday and Happy sails! What a nice way to spend it. I hope you guys take the chance to slow down and enjoy the roses in the countries you're visiting (it feels like the sailing community is always on the go). Either way, enjoy!
Happy Birthday, glad you are enjoying Turkey, try to swim in the ancient pool at Hieropolis in Pamukkale while the boat gets the work done it is another great place to see.
Been to Turkey, specifically Antalya. Just as I remember it, beautiful, good food, very kind people. Glad the docking went less difficulties, was worried the wind was going to push Ruby Rose. Thanks for sharing, see you next video. Looking forward to comments from the folks at Seawind..... next video?
Happy Birthday! Did you ever get rid of the welding spray all over the exterior? Please let us know what major work was accomplished with warranty. Loooking forward to the factory tour. Un abbraccio forte a due
I just don't like wearing any jewellery while sailing but it's sure to get lost if I'm constantly taking it on or off, so I leave it in a safe place when we're on the boat :)
Well done with the docking, but you really should consider a pair of "marriage-savers" aka hands-free duplex headsets. They make communications aboard a big boat so much easier!
People smoking in a restaurant would be enough for me to just walk away. They are so rude & ignorant. They they think it's their right to smoke, where is my right to not smoke. One day Europe will wake up. Rant over, Happy Birthday & thanks for another great video.

With all the woke crap going on in the anglosphere I'm not sure we are in any position to dictate what is civilized to other nations.
One thing we noticed that smoking is very popular in Turkiye, amongst all ages and genders. It's very noticeable coming from countries that have much lower smoking rates, but it's not rude for them to be smoking at a restaurant, it's totally normal. We've had to move tables once or twice so we're not getting smoke in our face, but also you have to be a bit chill about it. We're guests in their country, we're very lucky to be here, so we're not going to be fussed about people smoking if that's what they want to do.
@@sailingrubyrose I agree, but as a never smoker from Australia I found it a bit annoying in France & Italy where they do smoke in restaurants so I though a rant was appropriate, but of course, when in Rome blah blah blah
Happy Birthday Teresa. Med mooring is a very foreign adventure for Aussies. My family of 4 nailed 3 of them in Croatia in 22. A real bonding moment!! PS just booked a Koh Chang bareboat sailing holiday for January. Any tips?
We call them slime lines because they are often slimy from sea growth, mud or other things I’d rather not think about. Handling them with gloved hands is very wise and something in haste I often forget. In Spain, France and Italy there is usually a heavy chain in the water that these lines attach to and are led back to the dock to which you are approaching stern too. So far we have not had to use the anchor method. Whether or not you get a “marinero” in a rubber dinghy depends on the marina. The better ones do and they are worth every penny extra the marina charges for the peace of mind and safety as you typically arrive at a marina in the late afternoon when winds are strongest. Backing into the wind naturally gives the best control but Nature wants to have a bit of fun too so that is not always the case. That’s when the “knights” in rubber dinghys earn their keep.
One of the reasons people buy cats is the ease of docking. Just be warned they will slide sideways downwind very quickly if stopped, especially the lagoon condomarans & similar multi-storey motorsailor cats. And don't try to dock a daggerboard cat with the boards up!
Marina staff always want to give bow lines first, but ignore them and throw them windward stern first. With that line only you are secure because you can forward on it, which will make the bow turn against the wind.
Do you find the throttle controls challenging for docking? Normally you would lock the wheel off and stir exclusively with the throttles (tank driving), but it seems that the throttles are difficult to reach with two hands. Maybe just something to get accustomed to vs other locations I have experienced.
If you are really experienced, you may tilt the rudder a little bit - so the forward going prop is deflected to give you a little sideways propulsion, in case of wind. In general I agree, below - let's say 3kn - you don't have relevant control.
@@greenfeilds...1 Sorry - every cat is different even in one company. What I wrote is right for a Lagoon 620 - smaller Lagoons may even have the rudder in front of the prop.
Happy Birthday Terysa 🎊🎉🎂🎁🥂and does Effes now also make "Radler", that is beer with lemon, like the Germans? And is it easy to drink or is it too sweet? Or did the Effes bottle just look like it was a Radler? And if you order 2 Effes, then it's like this: Bir tane Effes, lütfen. 😂😉✌
There's nothing worse than an action camera that captures no action ;) Turkey is a beautiful country. Stunning scenery, good food and so many great people.
@@sailingrubyrose I have always been surprised that more sailing TH-camrs don't employ multiple cameras - a portable one to record the persons, plus one or two permanently mounted on their boat - One on the mast, for overhead views, and another aimed towards the bow giving a look of what is ahead (or recording the ships' passage through the water) providing for wonderful views of sailing thru the ocean.
Happy birthday to you🎂🎂🇺🇸🎉🍷🍷🫕☄️🎁🎁
I find it so fascinating how dolphins always find the boaters, the manager to always get an appropriate response from the humans.
Happy Birthday Teresa!
Turkey sailing is just beautiful... And the blue shine of the Mediterranean Sea though... Unmatched definitely.
Nice comfortable passage, no stress, no drama. Great to see you enjoying yourselves in such a beautiful place. Now have fun, you've earned it.🐬

Good to see you enjoying little restaurants, makes me think of when you were in Europe with ruby rose, Portugal and la Garonne. Enjoy, you deserve it😊

Hope you crossed the stern lines later as there is nothing that will hold your boat in place when you get a strong wind gust from one of the sides.
Happy Birthday Terysa! Nice way to spend your birthday 👍
Efes! A fine brew.
It's beautiful and you It's satisfying to see you having a good time, I'll be watching.
Beautiful episode. And yes, Happy Birthday to you T!
It truly seems like you’re finally living the dream! Happy birthday, T! 🎉

Yeah we looked into those but they were pretty expensive! 95% of the time, the two way works well, but yes, the hands free headsets would be ideal

with twin screws its pretty darn easy unless its windy.
Whow - you moore completely different to me. I would always take the stern lines first the bow lanes later.
especially as the anchor is down too..
We just followed the instructions of the marina staff.

I am wondering when you will have to stow the RR2, for the winter season, or will you go south after Hurrican season?
If you get down to Ayas...... I have some friends there who could show you around etc. HUGS

I wonder if the dolphin prefer monohull to a cat? The mono moves more water around the bow.
Berthing a twin screw cat is the easiest and most controllable vessel , no need of biw thrusters provided the prop is forwards of the rudders .
🧿👍
Ask Seawind to polish the hulls they look terrible for a new boat.
Would those dolphins first language be Turkish and how did you know they had English as a second language?
Loool our connection transcended language :)
Good video .
Did you leave the lines rubbing on the Bow as in the video at 10.19 ?
Does everyone smoke in Greece?
They should really quit sucking on badly combusted exhaust from those Cancer sticks.
We'll have to wait and see until they get there, looks like they do in Turkey though.
Those are bottelnose dolphins .
There's nothing worse than an action camera that captures no action ;)

easy to maneuver use engines not the steering, also learn to throw bow lines without knocking the head off the receiver..!!!
Not a big fan of background music.
The teaser is that you're going to be showing us Med mooring. BUT YOU DON'T! Totally lame.
My title says "docking a catamaran" . Are there different titles in other countries? It is not abnormal to have different thumbnail titles.
I don't think dolphins can hear you in the water.
Docking in wind or current is stressful and everyone is going to tell you how to do it. Nothing is straight forward in boating.😱🫣🤬🥳
