As a Korean who lived in London in my teen years, I absolutely saw the parallel between K-pop culture in Korea and the football culture in England! Glad to hear the same thing from these guys haha. Best wishes for all that's coming!
I would say Kpop is a kind of performing arts focusing on perfection in delivery. It's like we awe at people doing beautifully choreographed circus performance or even well put musicals. When the artists put their best in their performances and breathe with audience, the audience feel the energy of the artists and become in sync with the moment. Kpop music is short, catchy, lots of visual elements and constantly changing. Plus what messages they bring are not decadent but bright and fresh appealing to the younger generation. I think that's where all popular music of the globe should head together, not only Kpop.
There are also many singer-songwriters similar to Adshallen in Korea. However, in Korean families, teenage children have the initiative in TV remote control. Teenagers love K-pop broadcasts and like to cover their dances and post them on TikTok & SNS. In the era of the development of SNS, it seems that they definitely want visual SHOW more.

theres already like 5 6 global groups that trained under the system for like 2-5 years but only like 2-3 are considered successful and are regularly talked about in the kpop spaces. 3 months will not suffice at all, thats an average comeback wait period
They sound educated and appreciative of the culture. Groups like this and katseye are ones to watch id say. Theyre both essentially western groups with the Korean work ethic behind their formation. Theyre appreciative of the culture and respectful, which is all that matters.
BTS fan here!! Is there a documentary of these cute guys learning the K-pop ways?? That should be sooo interesting and cool!! Maybe some tears?!?! I know the Korean’s need to train for a year or more! Scary!!!!!
Honestly, the only reason why SM collabed with M&B and made Dear Alice, is because it's part of their SM 3.0 marketing plan, to become more "global". For some reason, the big kpop co.panies has got the idea, that making a Ln international group is a good idea. HYPE and JYP has done the same. It's nothing but buisness 🤷♀️
Looking at these guys, seeing they're all good-looking, charming British boys gifted in dancing and singing, they could be the most explosive group to come from the UK since Take That, Spice Girls and One Direction. Best of luck!
I’m genuinely wishing the best for these guys, they seem like nice fellas. SME is, well, SME but hopefully they do well. They seem genuinely into the arts and know about kpop as well. Only time will tell, but they’re good looking guys working with a big 3 (or is it 4 now?) kpop label so hopefully they’ll really take off. Also the name Dear Alice is really good, although it does remind me of 2000s MySpace metalcore, and yes I am that old 😂
idk why the western are still shocked that the trainee system was that serious and almost like a millitary bootcamp. meanwhile most of the kpop idols today were a trainee since they're still in elementary school, especially for those who debuted under sm entertainment
One key foundation in making a group success is understanding, compromise, and chemistry among the members. That's what makes BTS last and is still thriving for a decade now. They work well as a group and as soloists because they do like each other, unlike One Direction. If you guys actually like each other and can compromise, lower your ego, you will succeed. All the best
THIS GROUP WON’T SUCCEED, THEY TRAINED FOR 100 DAYS, THEY DON’T HAVE THE DISCIPLINE, SOME OF THEM ARE GONNA GO SOLO EVENTUALLY OR HAVE A FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER

In my opinion, this boy band should not copy Kpop, but instead be more like BackStreet Boys, and naturally sing good songs from the heart. That was how Backstreet Boys won the hearts of millions of fans worldwide, more than what Kpop could ever achieve.
I wish them lots of success and happiness. It’s great to see new faces and them being foreigners it’s great for the industry. I myself follow a group in KPop. Alice all the best fighting!!
@@han_js598 Saw a performance these lads did on a TV show,,, actually they sing quite well, dance moves looked awkward at times, a little too forced and wooden .... Let's hope they improve on that and whilst there at it , get a decent stylist for clothes and appearance.....
I’m so interested in how their marketing and music will be influenced by Kpop. Will the styling be as out there? Will the music be as genre-mashing? Will they do variety type videos? I imagine they might have a simpler aesthetic if their core demographic is going to be Westerners, music included.
Cheering them on. It's not an easy industry to succeed in, especially for foreigners, and the training is absolutely gruelling but you can do it! ❤ - A
Sorry to say but 100 days is not enough 😅 Kpop groups are like a well oiled machine, with excellent choreography, great vocals while dancing, and good humour. However, I love these guys already and I wish them the best ❤
They are just using the 100 days as a background. In the interview they said that they had trained individually before becoming a group. So they only trained as a kpop group for 100 days. It's not even like they are going to become a kpop group.
I mean, there’s been idols who’ve only trained 3 months to a year before debuting. Why spend resources training someone who’s got competent skills already?
Are they back in the UK already after the 100 days training? So they’re going to promote where? Will they join music shows in Korea? Anyway, I have only seen clips of them on X. I wish them luck and more energy to sustain everything. With the Korean boys it’s a whole culture they grew up with and it’s different for these boys. 100 days training is not a lot. I hope they find their own color I am sure SM has assigned a concept for them already. I am curious how all these would pan out so are they going to retain their British personalities but perform K Pop style? From this interview, clothes wise they’re not yet K Poppified. But incorporating British fashion into K Pop can be a breath of fresh air too. Will see how they evolved. Anyway, what Ten said was true you gain the most experience after you debut.
Why do they promote them as Kpop? From what I understand they will be a western bg with kpop training to improve their performance essentially to become a global group like XG
My ult (favorite) group, SHINee, is one of the most famous SM Entertainment boy bands. If these guys are/were training with SM people, the result is going to be stellar.
I feel like they or whoever is overseeing and managing them, miss the whole point of what kpop is and what makes it so good. So far it seems no different than a western boyband retry. Where's the concepts, the aesthetics, the makeup and outfits?
Yeah, and in their vids so far, their look is very natural and "college boy". So maybe their main label thinks that if they're gunning for a Western audience, the flashy outfits and heavy styling can actually be seen as cringey. Not a bad thing imho, since it's the dancing and singing that really matters at the end of the day.

theres already like 5 6 global groups that trained under the system for like 2-5 years but only like 2-3 are considered successful and are regularly talked about in the kpop spaces. 3 months will not suffice at all, thats an average comeback wait period
I know why they are SM coded.. they're shining and lovely.. that's what SM artists have,, smiling full of positive energy
They are like rainbow right? Lol
They are UK pop boy band who trained by Kpop company. They are not kpop bg. I prefer the original kpop bg.
Who cares what you think ha😂
Me too
Everybody does.
Shaddap.
They sound educated and appreciative of the culture. Groups like this and katseye are ones to watch id say. Theyre both essentially western groups with the Korean work ethic behind their formation. Theyre appreciative of the culture and respectful, which is all that matters.
Not vcha?
@@SweetforSno, the white girl in the group did a CA before debut.
BTS fan here!! Is there a documentary of these cute guys learning the K-pop ways?? That should be sooo interesting and cool!! Maybe some tears?!?! I know the Korean’s need to train for a year or more! Scary!!!!!
ITS COMING OUT ON AUGUST 21 ON NETFLIX, ITS CALLED POP STAR ACADEMY 😊
@@patriciamurashige6879 it’s called “Made In Korea: The K-Pop Experience” on BBC One August 17th 🙂
Yes, it's coming out today, it's called "Made in Korea"
@@viktoriatoth5809 yep on BBC One today and if anyone is outside of UK try to have VPN prepared for BBC iPlayer 🙂
Its coming August 17th in BBC One.
Lets not be too serious! Relax and enjoy. I'm sure SM and M&B made Dear Alice for reason, in a good way. Stay strong, boys!
I am so excited for their debut
Looking at these guys, seeing they're all good-looking, charming British boys gifted in dancing and singing, they could be the most explosive group to come from the UK since Take That, Spice Girls and One Direction. Best of luck!
Kpop is next level amazing the idols work so hard I've been a fan for ages! Not sure this will be anywhere as good!
Also the name Dear Alice is really good, although it does remind me of 2000s MySpace metalcore, and yes I am that old 😂
I think SM hit a jackpot with these boys. I do see success with these guys. I hope the group last a long time and they have a great brotherhood.
YES
Both hitting jackpot with each other I think.
@@urclue definitely! But we’ll see how long they will last
Please you need your eyes and ears tested
Reece is my bias ❤
YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN HIM SING AND DANCE…
@@balladofahomeschooledboy0514 frr
Yes me too❤
idk why the western are still shocked that the trainee system was that serious and almost like a millitary bootcamp. meanwhile most of the kpop idols today were a trainee since they're still in elementary school, especially for those who debuted under sm entertainment
they look so lovely!! good luck dear alice
That denim with one button off is an ode to Backstreet boys ❤😮
eagerly awaited
for them to flop?
This is something new BUT I am definitely in for this. Best of luck
THIS GROUP WON’T SUCCEED, THEY TRAINED FOR 100 DAYS, THEY DON’T HAVE THE DISCIPLINE, SOME OF THEM ARE GONNA GO SOLO EVENTUALLY OR HAVE A FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER
Bruh they gonna attack you and BTS
@@Bang...9900 ikr 😭 there are comments speaking abt a lot of groups but if i mention bts they'll eat me up saying I'm toxic and involving them everywhere but hey it's abt kpop and bts is the biggest kpop grp so we can mention them 😔✊💜
@@jayashree-el3sz for real ughh
Guys, don't listen to them haters they have no idea what they're talking about! You know you guys are great and the group will be massive. I'm very proud and happy as a fan. Hwaiting boys!
YES
me after they introduced themselves: IM SOLD! 🙋♀
In my opinion, this boy band should not copy Kpop, but instead be more like BackStreet Boys, and naturally sing good songs from the heart. That was how Backstreet Boys won the hearts of millions of fans worldwide, more than what Kpop could ever achieve.
Love them already ❤
They seem to speak well and have a lot of charm. Hope their music is good too, will be tuning in for their debut
I wish them lots of success and happiness. It’s great to see new faces and them being foreigners it’s great for the industry. I myself follow a group in KPop. Alice all the best fighting!!
fellow ARMY here, this vid popped up in my recs, these boys seem cool....
For those who don't know, the word ALICE in their group name stands for "A Love I Can't Explain"
And they'll be plenty of love going on with these boys.
That's so freaking cute! Such a clever acronym!
@@RojeCadorniga The acronym says it ALL. They'll def have some explaining to do 😂😂😂
They are creative for that!🥰
@@han_js598 Saw a performance these lads did on a TV show,,, actually they sing quite well, dance moves looked awkward at times, a little too forced and wooden .... Let's hope they improve on that and whilst there at it , get a decent stylist for clothes and appearance.....
Super interested to see how this plays out, best of luck to them :> ❤
I’m so interested in how their marketing and music will be influenced by Kpop. Will the styling be as out there? Will the music be as genre-mashing? Will they do variety type videos? I imagine they might have a simpler aesthetic if their core demographic is going to be Westerners, music included.
I can't wait to see them interacting with Mark Lee.
No group has the training, determination, the stamina and discipline like Koreans groups. 8 to 12 hours or more in training.
Good thing they’re not promoting in Korea! Or Korean! Or training in Korea!
Cheering them on. It's not an easy industry to succeed in, especially for foreigners, and the training is absolutely gruelling but you can do it! ❤ - A
Sorry to say but 100 days is not enough 😅
Kpop groups are like a well oiled machine, with excellent choreography, great vocals while dancing, and good humour. However, I love these guys already and I wish them the best ❤
They are just using the 100 days as a background. In the interview they said that they had trained individually before becoming a group. So they only trained as a kpop group for 100 days. It's not even like they are going to become a kpop group.
Gorgeous young men 😍
KATSEYE AND VCHA ARE BETTER, THEY’RE GLOBAL GIRL GROUPS
@@balladofahomeschooledboy0514vcha is disbanding and katseye is too overrated
I am not holding my breath --100 days in comparison to years?!!!! We they either must be SOOOOOO amazing or it is quite a publicity stunt.
I mean, there’s been idols who’ve only trained 3 months to a year before debuting. Why spend resources training someone who’s got competent skills already?
This group is the closest we'll ever get to NCT Hollywood 😭
Yessss gurl neos got their back
A subunit is still possible tho like IMAGINEEEE
Btw those were difference thing. NCT Hollywood was Lee Sooman's idea but Dear Alice was really SM Ent's staffs new idea😂
Yep
DA is probably gonna be the next massive bg mark my words
Delulu
Why do they promote them as Kpop? From what I understand they will be a western bg with kpop training to improve their performance essentially to become a global group like XG
Kinda misleading tho.. its actually brit boy band not kpop boy band isnt it? 🤔 Its just band training from kpop style of training.
cant wait for them to meet josh and ollie
I’m already a fan! 😱
My ult (favorite) group, SHINee, is one of the most famous SM Entertainment boy bands. If these guys are/were training with SM people, the result is going to be stellar.
I’m so excited for their debut
James looks so cute he's so my favourite
Este proyecto de verdad me tiene muy emocionadaaaa
Love the korean skincare products especially the face masks🙂👍
I love them so much.
so talented and hard working
I'm looking forward ♥
I feel like they or whoever is overseeing and managing them, miss the whole point of what kpop is and what makes it so good. So far it seems no different than a western boyband retry. Where's the concepts, the aesthetics, the makeup and outfits?
Yeah, and in their vids so far, their look is very natural and "college boy". So maybe their main label thinks that if they're gunning for a Western audience, the flashy outfits and heavy styling can actually be seen as cringey. Not a bad thing imho, since it's the dancing and singing that really matters at the end of the day.
That's because they're not a kpop groups, they're not trying to be one and won't promote as one .... they're only having kpop-like training
Can't wait ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They will make it. Charming group. Gogogo
100 days is really short period of time in kpop training but im excited to see what they're gonna show. I hope they're enjoying the journey
I thought the same too but realised they've sort of pre-trained by studying dance, Brit school etc.
Everybody is saying that they are the next 1D but I see Backstreet Boys ngl... 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Lucky guys...I envy you...I hope you''ll be great wonderful singers

I hope they do well but the training they have done does not compare to how long kpop groups train for. 💜💜💜
