I'm originally from Northern Michigan where we dont have to lock our doors at all! At night it is pure heaven because it is so quiet. We sleep with the windows open at night to let fresh air in. It's so quiet it's almost eerie! You can hear deer and other animals walking in the woods. Crunch, crunch....😮. I miss it deeply. I sleep like a baby when I go home. ❤

The thing I love best about where I live is the quiet. Right now it's late at night, my windows are open ... I hear crickets and bullfrogs, and in the distance, a train. All day long the birds are singing; I can identify most of them without looking. I love the sounds of thunder and rain when it storms. I play music when I'm driving, but rarely at home. I don't like noise.

I appreciate this topic SO much! I cannot have much extraneous noise at all or I get super irritated. I open the windows for hearing crickets and birdsongs, but close them during the times of day when there is traffic out on the road with all the loud backfires or sirens. I meditate daily as well, which has become a centering sanity saver for my mental well being.

Here is nearly no place without the sound of highways, trains, planes, motorbikes, sometimes only as a rustling in a far... not in the deepest of our forrests nearby. And I miss it so much.
The only sounds of nature don't mess me up. At the moment I have a choir of bird voices outside my window. It's 5.00a.m... a time I love the most.

I'm right there with you. There is so much noise pollution everywhere. Going on a hike sounds good. I just hope I don't run into people playing loud music 😅

I find that the older I get the less I like background noise when trying to concentrate on something. When I was a student (decades ago) I preferred music playing while doing homework. I can tolerate soft music but no more than that. Also working for a call center for the past 4 years and having people literally talk in my ear all day, I enjoy quiet much more now.

This is one of my favourite drawings of yours! I really ❤ it. You asked what we think of music. I can only speak for myself; I like my own music in the background, and hearing the artist describing their method, any tips, methods, etc. I love your stuff! Have a great day. 💝🐞

So happy to see you pop up in my feed. I love background white noise so always have music on softly.

I never liked loud music. As a teenager (long ago) I liked listening to music, but not loud. And I never like having earphones or earplugs. For many years, even decades, I don't play background music. It's only since a few years I like watching (youtube) videos as a kind-of background, while I am knitting, crocheting or doodling. But when I have something 'serious' to do, needing concentration, I can not work with background music/sound.

Hi Miss Betsi! There are many times I much prefer silence. I have ear plugs and noise cancelling head phones. If I want to listen to something, it is usually with strong intent. I love listening to music, but I am very picky. When I am drawing or working on a project, I usually have ambient music or a white noise. When I am relaxing, I like it quiet. I could never imagine living in such a busy place! I live in the midwest and there are perfect patches of quiet which I can escape to. I hope you have a good day!

A little white noise or soft music can be nice 😊. Sometimes I spend too much time watching reels and Shorts though, so maybe ditching those for meditation music might be an option.

I live a life with a good mix of quite and noise. I prefer some noise that I can control. At home I like to have tv or music. Outside I prefer whatever is out there. When I try to sleep I listen to audio books to settle and calm my racing mind.

Thanks for sharing! It can be so tough to calm racing thoughts. At first, when I would sit in silence I felt overwhelmed by my own thoughts. It can be tough to deal with our own worries and fears when there's nothing to drown it all out. I hope you find peace wherever you can 🌠.

Noise can make me literally sick. If I can’t get the quiet I need, it’s not a good situation. One of the many reasons we haven’t crossed the country to visit our daughter since she moved to Concord over 3 years ago. Also, I’m a teacher, so I have to detox my brain with some quiet after each work day. Don’t know why I’m built this way. 🤷‍♀️

I can totally relate. I feel like I have to cleanse all the noise out of my mind every day or I'll get sick from overwhelm.

My noise starts every morning at Walmart for 8 hours and 7 days a week to come home to my two grandkids 6 and 3 to cook and clean up and bath time for them book and bed then it’s quiet for me so yes I stop looking at my phone and just enjoy a little time of silence. And I love love your art I just moved my art room so I haven’t done any art in months hope soon

You are being called to meditate. You are being lead higher. Your so called “sickness” is just your body clearing itself. Look into the truth of how the human body works. Welcome to the beginning of your spiritual experience. I stopped listening to music 10 yrs ago. I too was a loud noisy person. Temple sounds is a good channel to listen to as your body will resonate with the ancient sound bowls. Also listen to the Chrystal bowls sound bath with some head phones. Welcome my dear, we have been waiting for your arrival. ❤❤❤

Noise gives me high blood pressure. I wouldn't last 24 hours at your place. I'm in the Mohave desert. When it's quiet, it's quiet. I like quiet. And, I like to pick my own intrusions, music, movies, YT sites. It's a mood thing.
