The opposing coaches would often personally come up to us after the games because they felt so bad lmao. It was stupid that our club even bothered playing, takes a lot out of you to play in a non-competitive team. Eventually I just stopped showing up.
My senior year in HS our soccer team was baaaaad. We went 0-19-1 that year. The match where we tied we had beaten them the previous 3 years 6-1, 9-1, and 7-0. I mostly rode the bench and played in maybe half the matches during the final 15-20 minutes. The one game we didn't lose, I scored the goal that tied it up. The next match I didn't get any playing time, even though the 'coach' said I would, so I quit the team after that...we only had 3 games left in the season by that point and I found out through the grapevine that they lost all 3.
I played on an All Star team in our state division. I remember showing up to the game and they handed us uniforms that didn't fit. We had to use safety pins to tighten the waste that kept falling down. We had no coach until literally right before tipoff. The other team was the perennial state champion and it was their home game. What the hell were they thinking with this match up? We literally felt like that pathetic team that faced the Globetrotters every night. We were down by 27 points by half-time eventually losing by 22. It was the absolute worst sporting event I ever participated. Even thought that game took place 42 years ago and it still causes me pain to think about today. So I can't even imagine being on that Portland Bible team and losing worse than that every game. What that level of losing must be doing to those players psyche they will never forget. I hope their dads are close to them, provide encouragement and some lessons along the way.

I once Coached a game where we entered the 4th down by 42. Due to weather both teams only had 5 players. We ended up winning when I told my team to forget scoring the ball and focus on getting contact. It worked, we fouled out two of their players and by the rulebook they couldn't finish with three. Their Coach was so irate he and his brother was waiting for me in the parking lot. 😂 They lost there too.

The next match I didn't get any playing time, even though the 'coach' said I would, so I quit the team after that...we only had 3 games left in the season by that point and I found out through the grapevine that they lost all 3.
1:38 Announcer wild for that one
Portland Bible looks like one of those teams of misfits in a sports movie that rises up against all odds to win it all. I believe.
Bro on the first possession of the game Bible almost forgot to get the inbound
Them dudes probably thought they would have a bible study. Sike!🤣
Wow Portland Bible is my new favorite college team. That tall girl looks like she can play.
HAHAHA long hair must be a girl right GUYS?
When my little brother talks trash before we play 2k
That’s a really good basketball program over there at portland bible. They’re historically epic.
When you bring your 5 to the park and just start shitting on everybody lol.
Hey at least you outscored them the 2nd half lol
2:04 not the PB coach taking a water break in the back😅💀
Their tallest player is 6’2
Backcourt is 5’6 and 5’9… shocking
reminds me of our local team that got to play against a big city team. They lost like 30-106. the other team had dunked the ball within the first 12 seconds of the game. it was fun to watch though even though our team lost.
I feel like we all need to chip in somehow and help this team. I don't know how but ....I feel its our duty!
1:41 “unbothered, unmolested”
1:37 'unmolested' I HATE WHEN SPORTS COMMENTATORS USE THIS WORD. I know that the word 'molested' means 'bothered' or 'interfered with', but it just feels weird to hear it in a non-sexual assault etc context. Something about it just feels weird, even though I know it's an extremely old word.
did he really say "unmolested" at 1:40
Why would this game even be scheduled? and it was on ESPN+ More people on the court than in the stands
I literally got offered a walk on spot at Portland Bible and never even played basketball in high school lol
you can literaly fill out a form on their website to apply for playing on the team, it's wild lmao
@@clickbait3753 I mean you can see why, they've only got 7 guys...
Reminds me of when my friends thought it was a good idea to make a team at the local Y and the 40 year old men wild just wax us
1:39 unbothered un-WHAT
Portland Bible you mean... Bishop Sycamore?
West Toronto Prep
@@BrassPlayr Flint Tropics
It's a real school
They're in the NCCAA Division 2
Essentially Division 4 or 5
damn the announcers going in on Portland bible before the game had even began lmaooooo
Hey Portland Bible don't you worry, when I was in like 5th grade in my school's U12 basketball team, we got destroyed, buckle your seatbelts, 69-4 by another international school where 8/12 players on the team were American (and yes if you're confused my school wasn't in the US)
this is like watching the junior high team vs a college team
No size no coaching no skills and seems like they have no heart too... Honestly im surprised that they got 31 points.
club team, coach is probably just one their parents volunteering since they were running an offense and a zone defense.
Those 13 spectators on hand really went nuts when Portland Bible finally got on the board.
Jesus, this is like watching 8th grade team vs varsity
Where is the affirmative action on these teams?
I once Coached a game where we entered the 4th down by 42. Due to weather both teams only had 5 players. We ended up winning when I told my team to forget scoring the ball and focus on getting contact. It worked, we fouled out two of their players and by the rulebook they couldn't finish with three. Their Coach was so irate he and his brother was waiting for me in the parking lot. 😂 They lost there too.
Sure
Alright you can’t just end like that or I’m not gonna believe it, give us a part 2 of this supposed fight with the other coach 😅 sounds funny as hell
And then you win the lottery
brilliance
@@turkey4957 there was no fight. The parking lot was solid ice. They couldn't even keep their balance. It was hilarious.
In all honesty if this game was played at Portland Bible. It would have been much different. That place is a pit, and all 10 fans wreak havoc on all opposition.
NEW TITLE
“D5 team tries to keep up with struggling D3 team”
Portland State had more points in the first half than what Portland Bible had in the WHOLE GAME……🤦🏽♂️😂
Hell they scored more points than portland Bible did all game by the time portland Bible got a basket 😆
@@Parzival0 Facts I didn’t even think of that lmao 😂😂
I've lived in Salem for 15 years, and never knew Portland Bible existed until 3 minutes ago.
This is no exaggeration… suit me up. I would’ve given them a bucket and helped in that weak ass 2-3 zone they had going on.
That’s my church squad out there! We only practice on Sundays!😂🤣😂
How can you believe in god after this
Because your belief shouldn't be based on the result of a sports game.
Religious people are very gullible
I seen a high school football team called IMG Academy scored 98 points before halftime against a high school team from Canada
They would be illegal in the NBA (Portland Bible)...you need to have at least 8 players able to play.
suit me up coach i can play
Imagine you try out for Portland bible and you end up being a bench player
@@Another_Caesar i could sign up and transfer right now. Those dudes have no confidence out there. I at least show confidence even when I’m cold. I’ll definitely play but I’m not going cause their school is shit 💀
1:39 buddy really said “unmolested”
This crowds bigger than a WNBA crowd! 😲
Portland Bible is the type of squad where I could make the team
Anyone looking to be walk on there's yall chance go to Portland Bible help them out
Portland state won by 83...
They literally have a form on their website you can fill out if you want to practice with them to "see if you would be a good fit for Portland Bible College", featuring the question "Do you attend a local church? If not, please indicate why you do not."
“Unbothered unmolested” wtf 💀 1:35
Portland Bible > Portland Quran
Wtf is Portland Quran?
This was ridiculous. Portland State should be ashamed for having scheduled this game. There's nothing good that comes out of a matchup such as this, b/c it's not a challenge for the team that wins, it's embarrassing for the team that loses, and the only significance that could stem from this would be someone getting injured by playing in a game that served no purpose and never should've been scheduled in the first place.
they paid them a bunch
Unless ur involved with one of the programs idk how u can be sure of what's good for them or not
fun part of this for me is Trey Wood on Portland State went to my first hs (Anthem Prep) was able to play 18 minutes off the bench and scored 9 points
Didn't pray hard enough.
Praying helps win basketball games or is it that practicing and coaching help win games?
Those Portland Bible players getting ready look like kids from a pick up game at the rec center on any given day.
Where’s your god now
I'm sorry, but your comment is unnecessary.
