    That turned out very nice. Wow you put a lot of time and effort into this .awesome. how much did all the materials cost to make the shield? 👍

      Thank you! I’m super satisfied with the outcome. With all the materials, it ran about $350

    Where do you get the shield blank?

    Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. I just got one as well from Alan. One question...he said use Jb weld to glue the brackets to the shield. Is there a reason you are using Loctite instead of what the maker suggested which is jb weld?

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      JB Weld is probably slightly stronger but I just wanted a fast setting epoxy. If I was fighting Hydra, I would probably use JB Weld lol

      @@GhostForge lol thanks for the quick response. Another question..I'm about to lose my mind now trying to get a proper cut out of the star. I'm using everything you said and half the time I can't see or feel the grooves while using my fingernails. Then when I do find em and start to cut away the frog tape easily comes off or doesn't come off where I cut. New blade too.

      @@dwainsumpter123 Hmm that sounds like a pickle. Maybe you could lightly trace the outline in pencil once you find a portion of it

    You didn't apply any kind of prime before the actual paint...?

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! The paint is semitransparent so the metal underneath will be shown.

    What's the glue?
    Which one did you use?

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used Loctite Clear epoxy

  • @goofballproductions7629
    @goofballproductions7629 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For someone reason when I spray it with the metal cast, I get darker shades or red on areas, do you know why it does this? Thanks.

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should even out with the more coats you put on. Each coat should be pretty light with plenty of time to dry in between coats. How many coats have you applied so far?

    • @goofballproductions7629
      @goofballproductions7629 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GhostForge I restarted actually but I've done about 5.

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goofballproductions7629 Hmm, maybe the coats were too light and it just needs more coats. You said you restarted, what did you use to strip the initial paint off?

    • @jacobcenter7374
      @jacobcenter7374 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@goofballproductions7629 I also had this problem when painting my homemade fiberglass shield. The red paint is slightly translucent, so too many coats will start to make it much darker.

  • @jacobcenter7374
    @jacobcenter7374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey I just got one of these and I have 2 quick questions. How did you set the shield up vertically for applying the red? And when gluing the brackets did you have to bend them or hold them down at all, because mine don't quite conform to the curve. The diagonal parts do, but the center part of them I have to hold down to get them flush with the back of the shield.

    • @GhostForge
      @GhostForge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure there are better ways but I ran a bolt through the middle to a wood dowel rod. I then secured that dowel to an old stand I had. As far as the brackets, I epoxied them and weighed them down with dumbbells

    • @jacobcenter7374
      @jacobcenter7374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GhostForge Ah ok. Thanks, I was worried I'd have to start trying to bend my brackets into shape.
