Im pretty sure JJ never questioned Rivers as a 'coach' per say, but as a 'person who undoubltably always resorted to' which was kind of lack of accountability for the failures. Coach is the first person that gets the heat, Doc deflected often. Point being, this was never a 'JJ vs Rivers' this was 'Rivers' and him alone. Clout chasing content.
A tactic often employed by politicians, "Deflect & Re-direct". Rather than address the substance of JJ's opinion, which comes with ample evidence, Doc and his supporters simply attack JJ's motivations. The irony of course is that in this video, Doc once again passes on the opportunity to take any responsibility, opting to patronize JJ by taking on the persona of a parent. "One day he'll realize, coaching is hard". I think JJ is well aware that coaching is hard and compromises and tough decisions are part of the job description. I also think that if JJ does transition to coaching, he'll also have no problem understanding, that if you want your players to be accountable, the coach needs to be the same. It would be nice if the media covering sports or politics didn't allow their guests to squirm their way out of an honest answer.
Doc is right about JJ the player, but that was NOT THE POINT. Doc's teams have blown FOUR 3-1 leads, FOUR other 3-2 leads, ANOTHER 2-0 lead and have lost game 7 AT HOME FOUR TIMES. Where is the accountability?
Good response by doc but jj was getting on doc rivers about being accountable always blaming others but himself he didn't say anything about anything else it was specifically that
Ever considered the possibility that Doc was pointing out he and JJ had issues from long ago and this was a contributing factor to JJ pointing out an issue recently?
If your gnna talk, talk facts. JJ had his highest averages in philly. 17.1 ppg & 18.1 ppg. He would have got numbers where ever he went as the league was moving heavily towards shooting.
JJ's wrong = he wouldn't be on ESPN, if Doc didn't play him in LAC = that's how ungrateful these guys are in real-life + they're not afraid to tell everyone how stupid they are about it = JJ's the only person who looks stupid here + if he actually becomes a coach, he's going to get a taste of his own medicine
@@tonywong8134 who's more responsible for winning basketball games: Doc Rivers OR JJ Reddick, when he was active??? The answer's pretty simple, since JJ's the only one who could score any points
JJ’s career high in points came with the sixers, he also had many offers before he signed with the clippers. Also signed a one year deal 22 mil with the sixers after he was “benched” with the clippers. Doc didn’t make JJ, coach K did.
Doc has 1 championship ring and it’s honestly hilarious how he keeps a job based on his name alone. He’s a choke job in the playoffs. 2008 was 16 years ago
"his best years were with me, he wasn't very affective in the playoffs, i grabbed him from the Bucks and started him which helped his career take off...but i have no issues with him..." you can't take the high road after throwing that much shade lol
Props to Stehpen A. for not milking the JJ / Doc Beef for clicks and views. Glad he switched it and asked him about JJ becoming a coach, overall a good interview short and to the point.
He was spot on! Because when J.J. Redick was in Milwaukee; the offense rarely if ever featured him. It was featuring Monta Ellis and or Brandon Jennings. J.J. Redick for damn sure wasn't starting during his time on the Milwaukee Bucks either. He only got more playing time if Ellis or Jennings was hurt.
I didn’t think it was ever a beef. JJ never complained or mentioned his play under Doc. Just Docs lack of accountability for his failures. I feel like this interview had no reason to mention JJ if SAS was not going to ask directly “what do you have to say about JJs remarks on your lack of accountability for past and present playoff failures?”. This seems like a pointless way to get a doc “response” to JJ
JJ’s public critique of Doc stemmed from Rivers’ comments about the Lob City Clippers. Doc claimed they ‘were never going to win’ because they didn’t get along. Since then, JJ has been annoyed by Rivers’ inability to accept accountability.
JJ should be annoyed with his wine drinking partner Lebron if we’re keeping it real. He sits across from the biggest blame deflector the last 5 years and stays quiet.

@@lazzi2462 The Clippers were on their way to the finals the year after Doc was fired. The only thing that stopped them was Kawhi tearing his ACL in Game 4 vs the Jazz. Doc doesn’t have that excuse. Ty Lue took the injured version of Doc’s roster to the WCF. Doc had that foster healthy and they blew a 3-1 lead. One of the reasons was due to his insistence on playing Montrezl Harrell, who was a doormat for Jokic. He didn’t even address JJ Reddick’s criticisms here. He simply deflected… as usual.
@@Doatello1991 He only got 1 year with Kawhi & PG, & they weren't even healthy. Kawhi played less than 60 games & PG only played half a season. And who on that team was really going to stop Jokic? Let me hear your suggestions. The Clipper's bigs were Zubac, Harrell, Marcus Morris, JaMycal Green, Patrick Patterson, & an 34yr old Joakim Noah who only played 5 games all year & retired after that series lmao. So I'm legit curious, who would you really put on Jokic out of them? 😂 Lmao. They just didn't have the personnel to stop Jokic. Lakers stopped Jokic that year because they had AD, Dwight, & McGee. Yes Lue took them further the next year, but they didn't run into another healthy Nuggets team. Jokic is better than any player that Lue ran into the following year, CP3, Booker, Mitchell, & a young Doncic. They blamed Doc, yet Kawhi & PG still have not won anything since then. They even added Harden this year. Respects to Kawhi, but like I said, PG & Harden are just a couple of the many chokers Doc has coached throughout his career. Have you wondered why they're both still ringless? 😂😂 Lol Also, checkout Doc's team the previous year before PG & Kawhi went there. His best players were Gallinari, Lou Williams, & Harrell (and he also had a rookie Shai). He won 48 games with them & took them to the playoffs. That's a pretty trash roster to take to the Playoffs in a tough western conference. Lol
@@lazzi2462 Zubac. Zubac was clearly a plus over Harrell. Yet, Doc Rivers insisted on trying to give those minutes to Harrell. That was the tipping point that led to him being fired. And second, Kawhi and Paul George were healthy in the postseason. Btw, if they were good enough to go up 3-1, they were good enough to win. I’m looking at the coach that blew his third 3-1 lead with the reigning FMVP. Kawhi was more hobbled in the Toronto postseason that that 2020 Bubble season with Rivers.
since when do coaches blow leads = are you blaming MIN coach for their last two losses or are you blaming the team for not playing better + I didn't hear anyone blaming Malone, when DEN lost the first two games #imjustsayin You're only saying this about Doc because some other idiot said it on TV = it's okay to use your brain to get the right answers, instead of just saying any stupid thing you heard someone else say = Doc Rivers was a better NBA-player than MOST of these guys you've watched your entire life + he's more knowledgeable about BASKETBALL than MANY = show that ninja some MF'ing respect
@Tennisplayer123 where there's smoke there's fire. He has had far too much talent and leads blown. Stop making excuses for him being a failure coach. Doc is trash
If you're wondering what the argument was between Pat Riley and Doc. I actually caught the tail end of the argument. I just remember Riley saying "...If we do that we'll end up blowing a 3-1 lead". I think it's quite obvious Doc has tried many times to do what Riley urged him not to lol😅
JJ Reddick maybe didn't start in Orlando... but he was damn good. Similar numbers to when he started in LA. Also, Affalo was the starter in Orlando while Jamal Crawford preferred to come off the bench in LA. JJ's minutes as a bench player in Orlando were the same than when he started with LAC. So Doc talking nonsense.
He has a hard time accepting criticism... JJ's successful career with Clippers has nothing to do with Doc's inability to get the Clippers over the hump.
I aint a fan of Doc but he is right...its easy to critique somebody in hindsight. But until you experience it for your self in the heat of those moments there isn't really anything credible he can say... no other head coach has came out to say anything negative about Doc
lol for all the people that says JJ best years were with the bucks. while that was true but doc was the one that unlocked him and started him when he was still a bench player. Doc used him and gave him more chances and drew up plays for him. If you watch the clippers, you would see the clippers ran tons of picks for JJ. If it wasn't doc, he would have to play a few more years to HOPEFULLY have a starter role. Also, with JJ starting and having plays drew for him, it helped him improved so when he was with the bucks he was playing better than he was in the clippers. EVERYONE, not that difficult to comprehen and understand.
Doc is one of the most successful coaches in history. The Celtics were at the end of their prime Big 3, and he maximized them whenever they were healthy, which they weren't by year 2 or 3. There's never been a time he legit under achieved. Just the times he over achieved catch up to him in the playoffs when talent and health matter
Doc has been handed some of the best talent in the NBA and has never lived up the potential. BOS was loaded with vets and HOF cents then Doc had failed
JJ Reddick best seasons in the league was in Philadelphia. 2017-18 he averages 17 points a game and 2018-2019 he averaged 18 points a game.. just to clarify
Steve Kerr wasnt a role player??🤔 how about Willie Greene? What about Monte Williams. Man idk if you knew this but over half the NBA coaches were role players 🤣🤣🤣 smh

Naw it was a JJ thing. It's a one-sided beef. JJ and his ego
@@andrew348bro literally said nuh uh lmao
My left ear enjoyed this video
Doc is right about JJ the player, but that was NOT THE POINT. Doc's teams have blown FOUR 3-1 leads, FOUR other 3-2 leads, ANOTHER 2-0 lead and have lost game 7 AT HOME FOUR TIMES. Where is the accountability?
@@laughingbehelit was rivers playing???? 🤔🧐
Humble and class personified with his answer! Much respect for Doc!
He just proved JJ Reddick’s point by saying he constantly runs the same place over and over again and the same lineups
Shots fired back
Good response by doc but jj was getting on doc rivers about being accountable always blaming others but himself he didn't say anything about anything else it was specifically that
Ever considered the possibility that Doc was pointing out he and JJ had issues from long ago and this was a contributing factor to JJ pointing out an issue recently?
I would like to see JJ as coaching versus Doc.
Why didn’t Stephen a mention JJs comments about doc not being accountable always blaming others?
Audio is off @SaS
DAMN! Ok, I was wondering why I was only hearing it out of the Left Side!
Thought I was the only one!
JJ played well under doc's coaching! JJ has a arrogant attitude like he's beyond approach; duke type of entitlement.
If your gnna talk, talk facts. JJ had his highest averages in philly. 17.1 ppg & 18.1 ppg. He would have got numbers where ever he went as the league was moving heavily towards shooting.
Stop lying
Boo. Duke haters!
yall just be straight lying. JJ was most efficient with the Clippers bt highest ppg with Philly
what JJ mentioned was Doc's lack of taking responsibility...and I still see that here.
What was he supposed to take responsibility for? JJ doesn’t like him…
@@bklyyynn when has doc ever taken responsibility for his 10 blown series leads?
@@DaFactsNoNonsense1713 I think jj will be a terrible coach but he's not wrong when he says doc never takes responsibility for 10 blown series leads
Jj stans reporting in!!
Doc gets chance after chance after chance.
JJ will Be a coach like Luke Walton

Why not ask Doc about with his beef with winning in the playoffs?
Doc has 1 championship ring and it’s honestly hilarious how he keeps a job based on his name alone. He’s a choke job in the playoffs. 2008 was 16 years ago
Stephen A is always trying to stir things up for Clicks. He’s such a ninja
The customers want that….he is just entertaining and giving the people what they want
"his best years were with me, he wasn't very affective in the playoffs, i grabbed him from the Bucks and started him which helped his career take off...but i have no issues with him..." you can't take the high road after throwing that much shade lol
Even though JJs best seasons were actually I'm Philadelphia
Wow Doc. Class act!!! Much respect from a coach that historically loses in the 1st round. JJ wasn’t wrong, but it doesn’t mean he had to say it.
Could you give us some facts to support your statement that Rivers historically loses in the first round.

Props to Stehpen A. for not milking the JJ / Doc Beef for clicks and views. Glad he switched it and asked him about JJ becoming a coach, overall a good interview short and to the point.
He not lying, JJ was a playoff no-show during those Clipper years, Jamal Crawford was as well
Doc is right in some degree and JJ was right about a lot as well.
Professional athletes are waaaay more sensitive than they'd like us to believe. Great answers Doc 👍🏾
JJ is bad for the game and the media. Someone has to check this guy or take his platform away.
You can’t ask another Head Coach who isn’t good if another Guy would make another great Head Coach.
I guess that's why SAS isn't interviewing Dwayne Casey.
The interview is just another example of why Rivers has always and always will land on his feet.
Class act. He really could have gone there but he didn't. Kudos to Doc. Loved him when he was an Atlanta Hawk
Incredible perspective on Docs part.
All he said is doc don’t take responsibility
I think JJ could make a great coach. I say from from a lot of players giving him support for it. We won’t truly know until he becomes a head coach.
you said that like you really thought about it
Same thing they said about Nash 😅
I love how it’s ‘beef’ when a commentator does their job and talks about basketball.
nobody has done more with less as a coach than doc rivers
Doc threw that subtle shade
It was pretty blatant
I didn’t think it was ever a beef. JJ never complained or mentioned his play under Doc. Just Docs lack of accountability for his failures. I feel like this interview had no reason to mention JJ if SAS was not going to ask directly “what do you have to say about JJs remarks on your lack of accountability for past and present playoff failures?”. This seems like a pointless way to get a doc “response” to JJ
Don't like Doc as a coach but I like him as a person
Fix your audio
He was coaching t-Mac with his first coaching job and t-Mac hated this man 😂😂 that’s probably why he called pat
Doc is the man this one 🫡💪🏽💯
That's a man who's good with himself. Good for him.
I bet he is, he keeps getting NBA jobs off of that one Celtics championship.
PALABRA aka well said Doc 👏🏽 SQUAD UP Fully 💯💪🏽
JJ’s public critique of Doc stemmed from Rivers’ comments about the Lob City Clippers. Doc claimed they ‘were never going to win’ because they didn’t get along. Since then, JJ has been annoyed by Rivers’ inability to accept accountability.
JJ should be annoyed with his wine drinking partner Lebron if we’re keeping it real. He sits across from the biggest blame deflector the last 5 years and stays quiet.
Doc rivers should have beef with himself for always blowing playoff series leads
Doc has his flaws, but a majority of the superstars he's coached have all been chokers come playoff time. T-Mac, CP3, Blake Griffin, Paul George, Embiid, Ben Simmons, Harden. Pierce won nothing outside of Doc Rivers. KG only got out the 1st round ONCE prior to joining Doc & the Celtics. T-Mac still never made it out the 1st round after leaving Doc lmao, unless you want to count his old age days when he was riding the Spurs bench. Kawhi & PG still haven't won a ring after parting ways with Doc & they're on the verge of blowing up that team. None of these guys that I mentioned have won rings after parting ways with Doc. The only notable players who won rings aside from Doc were Ray Allen with the Heat & Rondo with the Lakers. People are acting like Doc had top 20 all-time great players & like these players have won rings outside of Doc, when in reality, he had a lot of chokers who never won anything. Lol
Yeah Doc is a trash coach IMO but he has had an all time list of huge choke artists in the NBA that constantly do not have the clutch gene.
@@H0VA Yeah, kind of crazy when you realize how many choke artists he has coached. Props to him for accepting those coaching gigs though. Lol
😂😂 Lol
Also, checkout Doc's team the previous year before PG & Kawhi went there.
Doc is an expert at being ineffective in the playoffs
Most blown 3-1 leads every most blow 3-2 leads ever. His opinion on coaching is moot. How he continues to land talented teams is a mystery.
Where your resume @?
since when do coaches blow leads = are you blaming MIN coach for their last two losses or are you blaming the team for not playing better + I didn't hear anyone blaming Malone, when DEN lost the first two games #imjustsayin You're only saying this about Doc because some other idiot said it on TV = it's okay to use your brain to get the right answers, instead of just saying any stupid thing you heard someone else say = Doc Rivers was a better NBA-player than MOST of these guys you've watched your entire life + he's more knowledgeable about BASKETBALL than MANY = show that ninja some MF'ing respect

Now that JJ is the head coach for the lakers he will truly understand how hard the job is as Doc Rivers said here…..
JJ was on Orlando team that won the East before he ever joined the clippers
I’m confused because JJ was drafted and played with my Orlando Magic
So doc did not hear the comments
JJ becoming a coach will show why hes the plumber of his era
Audio only in the left ear
And I’m deaf in my left ear. Very Annoying. Thank you
JJ was DEFENSIVE LIABILITY in the Playoffs. Want to score buckets? Switch on JJ.
What’s up with the audio of the recent videos lately Stephen A. The right side has been missing

JJ Redick’s best numbers were actually with the 76ers after he left the clippers…
this is bc doc said years later the clippers team never had a chance to win bc they weren’t good enough
