I remember what Mari Kawaguchi said at the tribute concert for Keith Emerson in 2016. "The way to keep his music alive is to have your children and your grandchildren play his music. And if you are a teacher, teach his music." What she said goes for Zappa too.
Right from the very beginning, as soon as it was created, Zappa's music has always been the pinnacle of the program. It's the music that all the best musicians in the program aspire to be able to play.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2- I did not realize that she was/they were twins! I've seen several videos with each of them, but had not seen one where they appeared together.
Chris Dailey Thank you on their behalf. I'm not related to any of these kids but I've been recording their shows for nearly nine years, and I'm incredibly proud of them.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2- not to reopen an old wound, but I'm with you. I'm struggling to understand how Zappa could have reacted in a negative way. The part where at least some of the kids were clearly comfortable enough with their parts in a difficult piece to be having fun is what meant the most to me.
I love how spectacularly goofy the musicians are - they TOTALLY honor the song, and the composer!

@@MidWestConcertVideo2 The little blond girl on keyboard is sure having a lot of fun.
Her identical twin sister, with red and black hair, wearing the blue mortar board, is playing guitar.
