I’ve ordered in GB as my old tent too heavy for my 70s. Going inside is a 59 yr old sleeping bag from Paddy Palin Sydney, so I loved seeing the gum-treed Adelaide park. I wouldn’t have got so many useful clues by myself, like you can detach 2 parts: just the fly perfect for sleeping out in a Mid Wales garden where it always rains.
Frikin awesome tent..l tried mine for the first time this week...it passed every test..light weight..totally waterproof..NO condensation...the quality of the materials feel great in the hands..it took a bit of focus to set up..(l was tired from a long day cycling) but full marks all round..l think l paid about €190... I had been using halfords €50 tent so this is streets ahead.. am sure if its looked after..l will get a lot of use out of it...the 2 man has 2 porches which is excellent for wet shoes and other stuff... Happy camping
It looks super similar. And I wish I had seen this before I set up and packed down my Cairngorm! There's some really hand tips here that make it so much easier than Vango's limited instructions.
Thanks for this Video. I bought myself the Nevis 300 and I want to take it on a small trip into the Thuringian Forest, east Germany. I think it was the right decision total buy this model. Greetings to down under.
We don't have any experience with the Banshee sorry, Anon. They look similar but based on some quick research it looks like the Banshee might have a higher waterhead rating, which means it weights and costs a little more. I can't really give you any other useful feedback here sorry. ~ Ben
I notice that a hammer was used to drive in the pegs. Please advise: What weight of hammer is recommended as part of a lightweight backpacking set-up? Thanks.
We only used a hammer for the purpose if the video, effyleven, whether or not you carry one hiking is personal preference. I'd recommend a rock or lump of wood for hiking so you don't carry unnecessary weight. ~ Ben
G'day everyone!

Awesome tip at the end, leaving the main pole in so you can fold it nice and tidy
You're welcome. ~ Ben

I'm glad we gave you a taste of Australia in our video, Edwina. That sleeping bag must have some stories to tell, thanks for your feedback. ~ Ben

How does the Nevis compare to the Banshee?

Great again cant do with orange inners .. the cairngorm has a white inner .. doesnt mess with your colour vision
Yeah, it does make the colours of things look different inside, Joe, I have a tent with a green inner and it does the same thing. ~ Ben
