Me every time they play a game
After GMMore yesterday I can appreciate that you're trying a new format, but seriously the only way I can watch this as a full show in the mornings without frequently interrupting making breakfast, getting ready, etc. is if autoplay actually puts the videos in order, which it doesn't. I get wanting to produce something with more shareable segments, but a lot of your long-time viewers treat this as a morning show, and making it difficult to watch them all at once, in order, alienates those fans. I don't want to stop what I'm doing every four minutes to click a link, especially if I'm in the middle of cooking, getting changed, doing makeup, things I can't just pause to mess with my computer. If it comes down to it I'll probably just put on a full-length TV show instead, which would be disappointing since GMM has been a part of my mornings for a long time.

they could even release the vids in one long clip end of the day (like they used to do with earbiscuits) or have a playlist up every weekend for that week or smth - currently the 4 (5 incl GMMore) videos and having to click etc is the most annoying bit of the new format
If you click on the thumbnail with the green border, then auto-play does put them in order. It's been playing them in order for me since they started the new format on Monday.

Right, they make the argument that late night talk shows divide their content into segments so they can go viral. But what they failed to acknowledge is that if you don't like the segment format, you can still watch the late night talk show on television. Talk-shows want their uploaded youtube segments to go viral so that people decide to start watching the show as it airs. With GMM, we don't have this opportunity. We can't just tune into the GMM morning show on cable.
Let me preface by saying that I watch ALL your videos, including the candid comment response one, and I really appreciate your honesty and willingness to listen to your viewers. I agree that people need to stop being so drastic in saying things like "Ok wel I'm never watching this show again." That's just an immature child acting up. However, as a long time fan since the days of t-shirt war, butt-drugs, the spanner, etc, I feel like I should voice my opinion, as I believe I have some good thoughts. (This might be long, and I might paste it on some other videos because I genuinely think it's important) My primary concern has nothing to do with lighting, sound, or anything that I know you will figure out in time, it has to do with the core focus of GMM. I'm a literature teacher, and so I'll ask you to do the same thing I do when I analyze a work. Ask yourself, "What is the purpose of GMM?" Why does this piece of art exist, and how does it affect my life? I'll give you what I think the answer is. I think the purpose of GMM is to create an internet community that can get together from all around the world, and feel like they're a part of this cozy little mythical family, or at least experience a slice of what this family does. They get out their breakfast, tune in to GMM, and suddenly, they feel like they're hanging out with a couple of old friends having a good time. It's incredible that you have genuinely been able to capture that feeling of friendship and comradery in your show. I feel like you're part of the family, and I've never even met you. Congratulations on achieving that! That is what I feel the purpose of GMM has been from the very beginning; yes there have been many changes over the years, but I believe the focus has remained consistent. Here is where the not-fun part comes in... I worry that the purpose of GMM has shifted. You said in your candid response video that you are trying to do what the late shows are doing in posting small bits of sharable content. That's fine, but you may want to consider the fact that these late shows are about views, not community. I believe that multiple, segmentented, mostly unrelated videos deconstructs the community instead of reinforcing it. Let me pause to say that you might prove me very wrong, and I truly hope you do, but this is simply what I observe. I can watch late show clips any time I want. I can get little bite-sized sharable videos from thousands of other youtubers any day. I can only get that homegrown, friends and family feel here, at GMM. This is something special, and I hope it is not lost in the attempt to be trend-starters. I love you all so much, and I will continue to watch what you put out because I believe in you and support you, but I also want to be someone who cares enough to voice concern when they feel there might be a cause for concern. That is all. Be your mythical best. :)

therehegothatsJONDOE Very sorry that you feel that way. I love the GMM crew and have been a part of the community for many years. I want nothing but the best for all of them, and I felt that it might be a good idea to try and articulate/explain some of the concern the community is feeling during this transition. It's unfortunate that you think articulation/analyzation is a sign that someone feels superior. I'm right there with all the rest of the other mythical beasts.

Well, all the segments are 1 video. So it's the length of a normal gmm just split up.
As much as I'm getting used to the new format and think pacing is getting better lately, I will agree that they need to emphasize the main episode by at least making it a 10+ minutes video. Not for the sake of bypassing TH-cam's algorithm, but more to make it more worth watching.

That’s not even true... average daily views are actually staying about the same if not growing a bit for their channel. You can look up the actual stats rather than making a false conclusion 1 hour after the video is posted.

I’ve been with Good Mythical Morning since the beginning and whenever there is a change a lot of people drop but then their is a new following that comes back... it’s a hard change but you got to watch it with an open mind and true Good Mythical Morning fans will stick with it no matter what.

This is the thing guys, you are changing and doing more, and while i totally appreciate it and see and understand why you’re doing it, the show looses (for me) consistency. You give us like 8 min + 5 + 6 + 5 and its just a in a out of videos that make the pace super unnatural. Plus, it looks like you just touch the surface of things in each one. Yesterday with mike and alex the woodchiper game was dope! But we got 1 round and just felt like... nothing i guess

There's nothing wrong with the new format but the first video should be longer. 10-15 minutes depending on content. I would have loved to see another round of this game.
If they did one more round, they'd also have to do two more. Each person was in each position only once; to make it "fair" with more rounds, everyone would have to be in each position twice

What camera are you guys using? Red? Image is extremely detailed and sharp. Color is kind of off tho, pretty purple in the highlights, but the shadows seem a bit better.

The first guy is supposed to tell them the word and also not use so many actions that they leave the second guy none, they could just punishing withered depending on who's fault it was, but at the end of the day the punishments aren't bad and it's all just for fun
because it's the first persons job to convey the correct thing to begin with, and to also use a little actions as possible so that the second person will have options. The second person can only do so much...sooo.... it makes sense the way they did it

I'm gonna give Rhett & Link the benefit of the doubt. It's SO difficult to cyclically do the same schtick again and again & AGAIN ( as much as the viewers want it ) . I can understand they want to branch out and experiment with new idea's but it's just not clicking YET.
GMM should be allowed to grow. But the direction just seems so askew and foreign. Like it's a whole new different show without importing the good and comforting elements of previous series.
I'll keep as a fan, but I hope they take fan feedback into consideration because it seems like I'm not the only one that is noticing some VAST differences between the new format and this one.
As much as they demanded for R&L to only stick with only a limited number of approach to make the show, lots of these purist commenters tend to forget that had the duo not let GMM evolve for the past 12 seasons, there are huge chances that the series might have been discontinued if they proceed doing nothing new for the next 5 years due to audiences leaving after getting bored of watching the same content everyday. A lot of TH-camrs who dominated the platform around 2010 like Ray William Johnson eventually lost their steam of retaining their relevance in a less than 3 years span as a result of hogging to only one or few type of content.

Hey guys, I know you're pretty nervous about this new gmm configuration, but I'll tell you that as a long time fan of your show, I absolutely love it. The variety is refreshing, you have more freedom to be creative, and in general the show just seems better. May the mythicality continue for decades more!

Same happened to me. Clicked on the push notification and the videos played 3, 4, 1, 2. It was just when I hit the end of 4 that I noticed, because it seemed like they were spinning the wheel pretty early. Lol

If you look at your actual subscription feed, the episodes are numbered. It says season, episode, part.

great, now you even remove numbers of parts (and so did youtube) so I don't know which video is second. i don't want to watch from last video or click 4 times from description, some watch in playlists

the other 3 episodes are not in any specific order they are all different. the main episode had a green boarder, then you can watch GMMmore then if you want watch the other 3 videos. its really not a big deal
Mandy Smith that might be true but at the end of the episodes they do tell you what is coming up next, so if u click on an a (for example the last episode) after watching the main episode they might talk about some stuff in the previous episodes. Also if u see the last episode after u see the main episode they spin the wheel which will feel off if u still have to see the other episodes. So even if you can look at the episodes in any order u want, gmm still has a set order in which they want you to watch the episodes.
They explained it yesterday, the first video (part 1) is always the video with the thick green border around it on thumbnail, so always start by clicking on thumbnail with the green border and from there they will all play in the right order for you
I love the new format. I don’t know what everyone is talking about when they say you abandoned why people watched in the first place. I literally watch for you guys, so no change could make me peace out.

Why can't the video editor get the white balance/color profile right? This is still messed up. Looks blueish/purple on a lot of parts.
I don't get it either. I'm a professional videographer and color correcting should be the most simple thing they do all day. I think saying this show's stars and staff got "too big for their britches" wouldn't be too far from the truth.
Yah I can’t watch it in the morning anymore. The colors don’t set the right tone. Feels way too much like late night tv now.
They probably replaced the director, cinematographer, and editor with people who havent worked with GMM ever. Everything cinematically feels COMPLETELY different. The very saturated and natural colors are missing and the shadows are too bright.
Also, is it just me or are they wearing makeup?

I’ve been following you since season 3, and I love you guys, but I have to admit that these mini episodes are terrible. Previously, when you’d make changes, it took some getting used to. I’ve tried to get used to this format, but it’s just getting harder to watch.

Good Mythical Morning, Gentlemen and wonderful crew. Everyone is putting their two cents in, so I hope you're able to see this. I wanted to say firstly, thank you for all your hard work in everything you do. I'm not only impressed, but I'm proud of you. I'm a 5 year veteran of tuning in to watching "Rhett & Link," so of course, I've been through the changes that they've made throughout the years. Each time is difficult, but I always adjust. This particular time, I found it a lot more difficult to cope with. I didn't know how to feel. I am already upset that the amazing theme song and intro had been changed but I'm fine now, however, on top of that, all these videos... It's a lot to handle. I'm so happy about the additional content, I just wish it were still two videos, just longer content in each. With that said, I will not stop watching. I support you in your decisions and I stand behind you all. I love GMM and the crew, they help me through difficult times, times I prefer not to speak of. They've always been there for me, so I have no problem being there for my men. I'm sure I'll adjust in due time; I'm just grateful that I get to see you guys every day. Thank you so much. On Good Mythical More the other day, Rhett said that late night talk shows don't upload their content all in one piece, they break it up into little segments so it's more sharable. That's true, but they are not shot in little segments. The main consumers are able to watch the whole show in a longer format which feels more comfortable and like something you take the time to sit down and watch. The little segments are great if you're in a hurry or want to show a friend something particular. But it's much more relaxing and organic to be able to watch a longer , cohesive show. Why couldn't GMM do this? Shoot it all in one long piece, offer it up that way, then break it into 3 or 4 segments and upload that way as well. No it just feels like they shortened the main vid and added two small pointless games on it

One thing that concerns me is that new viewers for the channel wouldn't know about this green border thing. Would it be really hard to just upload complete episodes and also the separate clips? That's what some of those late night talk shows do, isn't it? You could also just call the first video a 'part 1' for any new & confused viewers.

Let's face it, they are doing this new format for $. The explanation of them needing to change and stay creative isn't the whole truth.

I hate to agree but honestly I do in some ways.
It’s a business. You do want them to continue being able to make videos right? They can’t just do the same thing forever too. They will slowly lose viewership and go crazy from feeling like they are just staying the same while the world changes around them.
