@@anishdev92 Thanks bro. I’ve got a big list of things to do with DJS being final stop. I’m also documenting my journey on TH-cam. Gotta be helpful like you and other fellow patients.
Overall it has been a great experience. The hardest part for me is I haven’t been on solid foods since January 9 and still have a couple weeks left of that. My pain post-surgery was not too bad and I only had to do about 3 weeks of expansion. I’m very glad to have had it done and I’m excited for the next step!
Charlie Evans love that! Oh how I missed solid food! I just can’t do that mush life 😂 Glad how you’re handling it though! Just know it’s coming to an end soon!
Your videos really helped me understand what I was going through! Had my sarpe surgery on the 3rd of February, expanded for 14 days and already putting braces on the 1st of March, hopefully it's not too early but can't wait to close the gap and move my upper jaw forward with next surgery! Greetings from Italy
You are the only one who can calm me down in this world right now.... thank you so much.... i've been stressing out and crying like a baby for the last week because my orthodontist has suggested to got through the upper jaw widening T_T I've got a cross bite on the right side that doesn't bother me at all... And my only intention was just getting some braces to pull down a slightly short front tooth and OH BOY.... i dit not expect that he'd suggest to do this thing... i am really considering to NOT do this although i know it can/will improve my jaw and teeth health... My big fear is that something may change in my face. My nose is the only body part i am soooo proud of and the very thought that it may look different after the surgery frightens me to the bone... So cutting my overstressed rambling short, have you noticed ANY differences in your like nose, cheek position, lips or anything now the swelling is gone? (please be honest with me :P)
Hey Nastia! You’re literally on the same boat as I was! My whole intention was to pull two teeth down and get braces, and leave my bottom teeth untouched because they were fine. However, my ortho showed me how narrow my jaw was and what it would mean if I only got braces (I had to extract 2 perfectly normal teeth to accomodate for the lack of space I had in my upper jaw) and I was so bummed out! I built up this excitement to finally get braces but was faced with this roadblock of doing Surgery, something I never thought of ever doing! I even took some time just to think about it before making the decision. So I completely understand how you’re feeling and it’s exactly how I was. Truth be told, nobody has mentioned any sort of changes in my face, besides the swelling in the early stages of course.. facial structure is the same, nose exactly as is... I can confidently say that there won’t be much change to the face aesthetically, besides the teeth of course... If you want you can add me on Instagram @anishdev and I’ll show you a side-by-side picture of my face before surgery, and current.
Anish Dev hey, thanks for your reply! Already done so (@sstacystass) I think I gonna do this too... the more videos I watch the better I feel... everyone is so chill about it, I think I over analyze it
It might be huge, you never know! Honestly it’s not as bad as it seems having a gap, soon you’ll miss it just like I do now 😂 although not complaining I love my teeth now
As soon as I finished the last turn, about 8 weeks later braces were on - mind you my process was slightly delayed due to the lockdowns, it would’ve been on a couple of weeks after turning
Thank you for sharing! I had my SARPE over a month now. Started turning my expander post op 3, twice a day (40 turns total). After my final turn, I met with my orthodontist and wanted me to follow up 8 weeks. I have a gap as expected, and he said new bone was going to form. I’m hoping by my 8 week follow up they’ll do the next step with closing my gap. Although I’m embracing my gap for now😅
I have really appreciated seeing your journey - thanks for sharing! Questions I have for you for a Q&A video, what were you most worried about with the surgery before and did it end up being the biggest issue? If not what was. If you could give me advice about what to ask or expect before braces/surgery etc what would you say? Did you have someone helping you out at home after the surgery and how long for. How long did you take off work? You mentioned you are still working and you just have to embrace the look - what has people’s reaction been and how has that made you feel? What are you most looking forward to at the end of it all?
Hi, bro can you please let me know where you had this surgery in India? It would be really helpful as I want to get this surgery to fix my speech issues and overbite
Hey man you look great. I had this surgery 10 days ago and I’m feeling nervous because I’m getting nosebleeds a lot now. I had to go to the ER because I had a nosebleed that wasn’t stopping for 3 hours. When did the nosebleeding stop for you? And what did you do to stop it?
Last Request Hey dude! Thanks 😂 I want to say that’s perfectly normal! I easily had nosebleeds in the first week and every morning for the first two weeks I’d have a massive backlog of blood in my nose/throat.. after the second week I reckon it started to slowly phase out but as long as nothing is hurting I wouldn’t worry. From how you’re describing if it hasn’t stopped for 3 hours then you’ve made the right call to go to the ER - they may be able to get you something to help with blood clotting. In terms of what I did, I actually stuffed tissue into my nose 😂 makeshift solution but hey it worked. Also when it did happen I would tilt my head forward and squeeze my nose bridge with a slight pressure for 5-10mins and it stops.
Anish Dev Anish Dev thank you so much for this 🙏 it really means a lot to me. They fixed me at the ER, however I’m glad you didn’t have to go. They had to shove something down my nostril that came all the way through my throat (nasal packing) I have never screamed in my life before from such sharp pain. Afterward I couldn’t stop shaking and crying because of how traumatic it was that they had to give me some medicine to calm me down. I’m a 22 year old male but fuck man that hurt me really bad that I don’t even want to talk about it. Your videos make me feel a bit better because of how much better you look now and how happy you seem.

I’m so glad I’m able to add some positivity to your experience. Hang in there and I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Before you get surgery does the oral surgeon ask for payment upfront or do they take your insurance down and send you a bill after the surgery has been done?
Hey mate! So depends on the hospital that you go with, the one I went to was able to deduct my insurance online at the counter before taking my payment
So far I’ve not had any side effects yet, it seems pretty straight forward and I’m sure if your surgeon knows what he or she is doing you’d have no issues!
Hey man, did you lose a lot of weight following SARPE? I’ve been lifting weights and I don’t want to lose all my muscle mass during my SARPE process. Thanks for your informative video. Subbed.
Hey! Honestly you’ll probably just have to sacrifice a couple of months of weight lifting, in fact you can still lift weights, they just don’t recommend lifting anything heavy above your head, so shoulder presses etc out of the question for a while, but mostly everything else is fine
Hi it's been 5 month since I have Sarpe and gum feeling still didn't come and I want to know for how long I have to wait I can't chew burger or anything so do you feel the same on five month ?
Hey there! The gum will feel pretty numb for quite a while, you should be feeling some form of recovery over the next few months and I would avoid a burger until maybe month 7 just in case. For me in month 5 I was able to chew pretty well, but I wouldn’t worry too much yet as people have different recovery rates
@@anishdev92 I have a narrow upper palate, surgery is recommended but im hesitant. with the nose bleeding. In your videos, i dont see much of a facial change

I've been through the same process but with a different expanded, cannot find anything about somebody with my type of expander. How long will you need yours in for because I havent been told when I will get it out. Only given a date for braces which is on monday
So my ortho mentioned that my particular case, double jaw may not be necessary as braces and elastics could solve my bite issue, so really only time will tell! My expander was originally meant for 3 months, but due to Covid it was extended to almost a year 😂
Did it start to really hurt towards the end of expansion? I'm almost at 9 mm (going to 10) and its really getting painful. Was it the same for you? Thanks!
It felt like a stretch the closer I got to the end for sure, that’s also when my breathing was just epic. Slowly though the discomfort will fade and you’ll just get used to it

@@thereserex no problems bud! I’m glad they’re helpful!
