Anime: Gintama
Synopsis
The Amanto, aliens from outer space, have invaded Earth and taken over feudal Japan. As a result, a prohibition on swords has been established, and the samurai of Japan are treated with disregard as a consequence.
However one man, Gintoki Sakata, still possesses the heart of the samurai, although from his love of sweets and work as a yorozuya, one might not expect it. Accompanying him in his jack-of-all-trades line of work are Shinpachi Shimura, a boy with glasses and a strong heart, Kagura with her umbrella and seemingly bottomless stomach, as well as Sadaharu, their oversized pet dog. Of course, these odd jobs are not always simple, as they frequently have run-ins with the police, ragtag rebels, and assassins, oftentimes leading to humorous but unfortunate consequences.
Who said life as an errand boy was easy?

For those who don't know, Kagura's Japanese has a very thick Chinese accent, which is impressive because her VA is 100% native Japanese
I can't different since I know neither languages so her Japanese sounds just like any other Japanese to me.

The first 1 years, Kugimiya Rie her VA still very much don't know how to voice Kagura so she add Chinese accent to her, the director have no problem with that but after that she find out she can just speak normal for Kagura

can you explain the origin of the joke if this has a backstory or its some japanese word play?
@@carlosalvarenga8435 It's just that Kagura asks for help, but says "health me" Kagura is a child, sometimes even in Japanese she makes mistakes there when she tried to speak English she spoke a different word. When I say that I like the humor that she represents, it is because the manga author made the child character for her to commit these misunderstandings in situations, he likes to make linguistic puns, but the fun in this scene is just that she transformed the word into another one. .

@@harimauindia5775 she and the yato clan is obviously inspired by Chinese culture as you can see in her outfit. As for examples of intonation, idk how to show that through writing, but if you have experience in listening to Japanese language you can compare her with other regular characters and hear the difference

Gotta give props to Sorachi for writing good female characters, not just Kagura, but the rest of the female characters in Gintama. They're all equally strong, funny and equally shameless as the male characters in anime. Never did i see a female protagonist throw up and being hit by a man or group of female adults who can't cook/struggle to prepare a normal meal, or a perverted female in an anime. Though i realize it's for the comical effect, still you can't deny it's good writing. They're all properly realistic!
