What a nice surprise this film turned out to be. Plenty of Chiltern units although it did remind me of Oxford station open and drafty. Nevertheless despite not being the busiest station it is so good these places get filmed
There used to be a line to Oxford that branched off at a junction on the current Chinnor heritage railway, Chiltern looked in to reopening it but opted for the route via Bicester instead.
Weather is just about the same as we have in Oregon USA at this time. I just realized, it has been nearly ten years to the day since I stood on this very spot and filmed a 121 on the Princes Risborough to Aylesbury service. It was on a game night at Wembley and the trains were packed.
Well next year I'm actually hoping that I will have the opportunity to film on the NEC. I was hoping that I had the chance to come here sooner so that I would've also caught the 121 bubble cars working on this route but sadly I missed that opportunity. When I was filming that day there was a game on somewhere in London but I wasn't to sure when. All I know is every station I went to was filled to the rafters with various football supporters (Or soccer as it's known in the states)
Great video, but you've missed a station between Princes Risborough and High Wycombe: Saunderton. It is a truly gorgoeus station with plenty of 68s running non stop and dead straight views in both directions.Only the Princes Risborough-London trains stop there so you'll get every other train passing through. By the way, you might not here form me for a little while until a get a new comouter for Christmas
Thanks very much I'm glad you enjoyed watching this. I am well aware that I missed out a station. The problem being is that I am running out of time to get this series done so I'm having to skip a few stations so I can get it finished and then get a few more stations done before I finish for the year
Apparently from the December '17 change the 10:40 ex Marylebone and 13:12 ex Birmingham Snow Hill loco hauled workings are reverting to Class 168 DMU operation.
Another absolutely outstanding film Jarred, I thoroughly enjoyed watching, do you know or can you estimate roughly when you will be doing London Marylebone, no matter when you do it, can you do it on a weekday between 1600 and 1830 as you get all 5 68 diagrams, but a most enjoyable film to watch, up to the usual high standards, keep up the good work and a thumbs up from me as always
Thanks very much mate I'm glad you enjoyed watching this, in all honesty I haven't got a clue when it will be at the moment, all I do know is that it will be on a weekend as because of my work it means that I now have weekends free

I do try and get to some of the lesser covered stations if I can. Sometimes you can stumble across a hidden gem!

Ah right ok, I can safely say I never knew that. In all honesty my knowledge of the Chiltern Mainline is actually very limited

That's gonna be a shame, I would've thought that the loco hauled trains would've been given more availability
Another station I am doing soon, love the video :)
You'll really enjoy yourself here mate :)
Poor Saunderton, it never gets enough attention from trainspotters :'(
Cracking video btw
I would do it but I'm starting to run out of time to get this series done before the end of the year
Clubman?, that's a really cool name for a train
I'm not so sure as to why they are called Clubmans but evidently it was done for a reason
