They want to IROC NASCAR so bad let them and be done with it.
I am glad to hear the "they have a body advantage" argument is still used. But I though the whole purpose of these new cars is that they were designed with equal aero specs?
In Denny's previous episode he mentions that they're all within a tight aero box and that Chevy still has an aero advantage but that Ford and Toyota are almost equal and very close behind, much more so than last year.
No the manufacturers still design their own bodies, it's the only aspect of this new car that is/can be different from other manufacturers (other than the engines as well of course) and if I'm remembering correctly all three manufacturers submitted and had accepted new noses for this year, and evidentally the Chevy based on the numbers (drag, aero, etc) is better at most of the styles of tracks, you can look up the specs of the aerodynamics of manufacturers if ya want, they're available online somewhere, but yeah no the areo numbers most def are not the same across the board, dunno where ya heard that but it's NEVER been the case in NASCAR, in indycar yes but NASCAR no
Can we just touch base on Denny’s absolutely BS on his team’s DQ? “We just thickened the wrap, we didn’t modify the part!” The part no longer conformed to the required specs. The means of making it no longer conform doesn’t matter. Body filler and paint, thick wrap, moveable bracing… doesn’t matter. You got caught cheating. Important word there is caught. Hendrick is in the same boat. The means of how it was done doesn’t matter. If it no longer conforms to the set specific dimensions, than it’s illegal.
Except that most def is altering the body....... Dunno what makes you think that it wouldn't be....... And glue..... Really?? Ain't no glue ever made that would be able to withstand the forces created by a WoO style wing, I mean like 3M 5400 or something along those lines is def some major adhesive style product but it still wouldnt hold up especially for an entire race distance, I'd argue that it wouldn't even make it thru a practice session or even probably quakifying
The odd part is could buffing a part count now as altering a part? if so, then this new car rules suck for the NASCAR Cup Series. Too technical for how parts are being made to fit on the cars, if you have to get basically a __ allowance to fit the parts to the car if they do not fit. I agree with Denny in this, the cars just are to technical in the rules not a single thing different other then engine and from what I see the teams are barely with permission allowed to alter a part even to fit the Cup car and even then sloppy. The problem is NASCAR tried to make a cheaper/more durable car and ended up with this monster of POS that is not going to last anyhow.
I understand that NASCAR needs to make the sport more cost efficient, but NASCAR isn’t NASCAR without creative engineering. Maybe it’s time to rethink the cost-reduction model for the Cup Series after this season. The rules are the rules and they need to be enforced as they are for this season.
I strongly doubt that these cars are cheaper for the teams - 15" steel wheels vs the modern 18" forged wheels, expensive ass spec sequential trans vs the 4-speed box that could've been had from a number of different manufacturers(and has been around for decades, they aren't expensive), etc. I mean, not like this would be the first time a sanctioning body introduced a new spec/rule set "around capping costs", and completely blowing that goal in implementation lol.
The DQ argument isn't an apples-to-apples argument. Theirs was before the race and yours was used during a race. If they were illegal though, there will definitely be penalties coming.
If it is "presented" on the car at the racetrack, it makes no difference if it was raced with or not. Only manufacturing points matter to the teams not drivers!
Talk about bias…
Way it's going they can take hundreds of ponts and still be 1234 in the chase.
I realize it won't happen, but Hendrick should just get out of NASCAR (a dying entity) and move on to something else. Regulation has killed this sport just like it did CanAm and IMHO, Indy car.
No not the Golden team of HMS
Nascar is so out of touch with what the fans want
Denny is a sell out
Why not take the win away like they did over a piece of tape. NASCAR being nascar and protecting some teams.
Because they didn’t win with the confiscated parts
Because those parts were not used in the race!
This is all so dumb. This is the future and I would pull out if I were a nascar team. Spec cars with mandates uncontrolled parts is complete crap. Let teams build their cars to the rules you set
Cry Baby Hamlin Yours for after the race this was before DA
NASCAR IS FINISHED,GET WOKE GO BROKE.THEY KICKED LOYAL FANS TO THE CURB TO COURT WOKE CORPORATIONS..NOW ITS BITING THEM,I COULD CARE LESS.
It’s Hendrick Motorsports, they’ll get a $3 fine and slap on the wrist
