Westerly Pageant Sail Boat Tour

Just bought my first sailing boat! I love watching these videos so figured I may as well hop aboard and do my own… she’s a Westerly Pageant 23ft from ‘74. I’m new to sailing, also! 😱 … more adventures ahead!

Have only just taken her out and I’m new to sailing but with a YMI friend aboard helping me! She’s a bilge keeler so in upwind very very “oily” hard to keep course, but part of the fun, and we went over Bardsey Sound force 4 with wind and tide against each other, very bouncy let’s say as she’s only 23ft but handled it well. You do feel everything on smaller boats like this with bilge keels but she’s sails very well and good feeling in the tiller and easy to manage on helm solo if tacking / jibing / Goose necking due to small cockpit . I hope to post a video after our maiden voyage from Pwllheli to Conwy once we get there 😳!

Laurent Giles & Westerly Marine really are incredible at designing with so little space to make a yacht feel big!
