Good thing you save it from the crusher, those old Ford Rangers are best small truck, that truck is perfect for a work truck. I wish I could have kept my 2002 Ford Ranger supercab 4.0 liter engine with 163,000 miles as a yard work truck. In January 24th, I ended up traded it for a 2009 Ford Ranger Club cab with 2.3 liter engine & original condition with low low miles of 15,154 and I am the 3rd owners, also it excellent gas mileage.. I loves those old school Rangers
As a ford Explorer, ranger man, and have worked on so many 3.0L, & 4.0L, the thermostat housing on the 4.0L always warp/leak. I found an aluminum thermostat housing online, and brother they are a game changer. Just saving you a headache for the future. Just passing on some info. Be safe and take care
Hey Dave, if the audio sounds a bit quiet or crackley, try getting some new capacitors and solder those in the factory amp. Capacitors diminish over time. Ive done it to a few factory amp vehicles and had awesome results. the higher temp audio caps also upgrade over factory ones sometimes, depending on what caps the manufacture used origanlly. usually costs between $45-65
Man, do I miss my '04 Ranger. Had it since new; 4x4, 4.0l ,5sp manual. Wiped out on ice last Christmas day. Too bad you didn't get a hold of it. The engine ran great, it only had 96k miles.
Four liters V6 rounds since the aerostars vans. I prefer the three liter in them. I have a low-mileage 4.0 aerostar. I use it a whole lot lately but used to be it was my going from property to property van.
This is the first video I've watched of Dave working on this but I would like to know what features does a tremor ranger have cause a f150 tremor is nice but this thing only had a 4 or a 6
Hi Dave I’m looking for a automatic to swap in my 2.5 01 Ranger I have been looking for one do you have a good transmission in your yard I’m disabled and it’s getting hard for me to push in my clutch can you help 🙏🏽🥺

You got that right!

Looks like you've got a nice little truck there after spending a bit of time and money on it. Another one to add to your massive collection!
Nice job bringing her back to life Dave. One more air freshener aught to do it!
I have a tremor and definitely could use advice on bringing her back to life. She’s running great but needs some loving.
I love the little ford rangers, had an extended cab 4x4 years ago and put 200,000 miles on it
Those are great little trucks, especially with the FOrd 4 liter V6, only .6 smaller than the V8 and run great! Had the Exploder with the 4.0 V6.
This would be a good 5.0 swap candidate. The frt frame section is the same as the Explorers that had the 5.0!
Hope you did the chain cassettes while it was out.

Very unique find. Enjoying your exploits.
Good work! That Ranger looks great. Cool lil truck. Great video. God bless
Those are some rad little trucks! Much love from Texas.
Nice video Dave. Thanks for sharing your content. Take care
Blimey look like you dug it up in the begging lol nice truck now I’d happily drive it , nice work 👍
Timing chain is the issue with all the 4.0 i ever seen.. with all the jackstuds and 5 different chains
The new subclass is calked Strife and its based off of the effect from Rhulk/Nezarec/tormentors
HEY! Hello Dave and thumbs UP!!
Thanks
If the OD light keeps blinking it's usually a shift solenoid.
It’s also an indicator of a misfire. I don’t know why but Ford did that.
The best upgrade you did was getting rid of the Christmas trees.
I inherited my dad's 2004 Ford Ranger tremor edition............it has 60k on the odomoter.

My '03 B4000 is my daily driver. My biggest fear is when the timing chain sets give up.
Nice find, Dave. Not gonna lie. I would be very tempted to V8 swap.
Out here in the rust belt Rangers die from their frames snapping in half before the engine even has a chance to fail.
U make a engine swap look easy. Nice work.
Thanks 👍
its because they are
Nice find. How is the Charger/ Hellwagon coming along?
And now it’s for sale

So what cured the hesitation problem ?
It was stored codes on the ecu fr9m when the kid blew up the last engine
Cram a 5.0 from a explorer in it
Dave whatever you are using for a camera is not a good camera. Just saying. Love the vids
