    Analysing Andrew and Bree's characters, one could say that Andrew misbehaved so much because he was trying to get Bree to drop the Stepford wife act so that he could emotionally connect with her. But she still kept up the facade. And all this stuff about Andrew's trust fund, I don't think that he really wanted that or to be free from his mother. When Andrew says "Mama" to her at the side of the road, he clearly just wants his mother to love him, not the freedom which Bree thought she was now

      Your reaction is normal. What you've seen during the last episodes before was a tottally overcharged teenage person, who just defended himself against a bunch of degradings and manipulations of an empathicless psychopathic mother ! His mother clearly shows all signs of narcisstic up to psychopathic behaviour. Inform yourself ! This serious is full of excamples of narcisstic behaviour, very excellant to study. And it shows how much pain it causes in the life of the most vulnerable, the children !

    Dude, did you watch what led up to this? She was ready to accept him being gay; she invited his boyfriend over for dinner last episode and Andrew thanked her by sleeping with HER boyfriend.
    When she watched this episode, though, my mom was like, "I could NEVER leave you in the middle of nowhere!" And I was all like, "If Andrew was my kid I would have done this last season!"
    I guess my opinion of this episode might change if I ever had a kid, but right now, I think Bree was justified.

    That scene is really sad... But Andrew had it coming and he deserved it completely. It was so sad watching him when he tells that she hates him because he is gay... Andrew never understood it. Bree didn't hated him because he was gay, she didn't trew him out because he was gay. She was not happy about it, but she find a way to live with it. The reason she trew him out was because he was a horrible person. And Andre didn't getting that was really sad...

    There was something wrong with Andrew from the beginning and this was a long time coming, from the time he hit-and-ran Gaby's mother-in-law and felt no remorse. He was a rotten egg, and nothing Bree (and Rex when he was alive) tried to do to set him straight had worked. The fact that he thought she was leaving him because he was gay (when in fact she adjusted her whole rigid belief system to accept that) just showed how self-absorbed he was. This was tough love and it tore Bree apart to do it as we can see. But ultimately it worked, as Andrew became a much better person.

  • @juvisage8427
    @juvisage8427 7 ปีที่แล้ว +64

    bree was so right to leave him. He has always been so awful to her. This has nothing to do with the fact that he's gay. She has done everything to raise him well but he always hated on her, and Danielle too. Even Rex for a little while. Bree deserves respect and none of them has ever gave it to her. Andrew was a bad kid. He's the abuser, not the victim.

    Andrew was terrible in the first two seasons. It had nothing to do with him being gay. Bree was tired of him constantly disrespecting her, terrorizing her and all of the above. He even had the audacity to threaten he would accuse her of molesting him. That’s how bad he was. But after she abandoned him, he became a much better person towards the end of the series.

  • @KoiinuNe
    @KoiinuNe 12 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    i think when she didn't answer to Andrew's speculation that she didn't love him because he was gay was because she didn't have the energy to tell him yet again that she loved him. and she was sad that her son would think that was why she was taking this course of action.

  • @marcsilcockfan1989
    @marcsilcockfan1989 12 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    giving him. But Bree, true to character, remains stoic in front of him, even though no one else is around to see any sadness she wishes to not publicly display, even though her little baby is indirectly asking her to just love him, and only lets her emotions flow when she's driving off and not a soul is around.
    And in regards to Andrew, one can compare what he says here back to what he first said to Justin, that he would stop loving Bree first. Yet, by this emotional episode, he clearly hasn't.

  • @velocity246

    I agree with you, this scene - taken out of context of the storyline really makes you feel for Andrew and the scene was well written and acted.
    Although I'm kind of glad Andrew isn't a troublemaker anymore in season 4 - I'd like the writers to base a storyline around him.

  • @Harmony233
    @Harmony233 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    While it's true that bree didn't dump him for being gay I think Andrews feelings are valid there was a scene with Justin where he told him that he hated his mother because he knew that she would stop loving him because he couldn't change and that he was going to stop loving her first so it wouldn't hurt so much or something like that.
    I think they both made mistakes and were flawed humans and could have used some family therapy.

  • @justmoijah
    @justmoijah 13 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I don't think she stopped loving him, I think she just didn't have any power left to say otherwise. And what would have been the point? She's said it too many times, and each time, Andrew's thrown it back in her face. Hopefully, he'll mature and regret his actions in the future, until then, I think time apart will do them good.

    It's normal Bree can't take it anymore. Nobody could.
    He's not a bad guy but he did some very terrible things.
    He could go back whenever he wanted but this was necessary to make him realise what he did!

    I love the 1:50-1:55!!! He is begging her not to leave him in the middle of nowhere. Bree builds up courage and grants Andrew's wish of leaving him be independent. He begs her after he said to his boyfriend how much he hate her. And he believes he won, when he actually he experiences how hard is to be independent, ending up being a hobo. Karma, people, is a ruthless bitch!

    Oh and not to mention he wasn't scheduled to get his trust until he was 21 and at the time he asked her for it, he was 17. So that's another reason she denied it. Ultimately it was his grandparents who decided he wasn't getting it BECAUSE HE WAS GAY, not Bree. I don't know how much love I'd feel for a son who kicked me, spit on me, tried to sleep with my boyfriend, blackmailed me, and vowed to ruin my life either.

    As regards Bree's change of heart in allowing Andrew to see Justin... well, she did that too in a very Stepford wife kind of way i.e. inviting Justin round for dinner... whereas what Andrew needed was a long chat with her and for her to acknowledge the fact that her initial rejection of his identity hurt him deeply. Andrew would also acknowledge any pain that he caused her as well. But... alas that wasn't what happened.

    I hate the fact that everyone is saying this made him a better person. No, this made him a homeless sex worker who barely found anything to eat, drink and wear. Which is exactly what one would wish for a teenager, isn't it? No normal mother could ever do this to her child, no matter what he had done. If she couldn't stand living with him anymore, she should have just let him move in with his grandparents. But sabotaging his plan so that he had no other option but to deal with her, only to leave him on the side of the road with next to nothing is just beyond me. She could have rented a room for him with that same money that she gave him, then drop him off there, after having talked to him about it first. She should have made sure he would be safe, but she hadn't, and he wasn't.

      This is sort of old but I really like your statement. I've been so sick of all the Andrew hate! It wasn't good that he tried framing her earlier in the season, but I felt very understanding of him. I was disappointed in how he went about things, but I realize he did it because he felt **trapped**. She was continuously trapping him in the relentless perfectionism of their day-to-day life. Even REX wanted to leave her! I like Bree as a viewer, but I would hate to be part of her family. I understand why he wanted out. And yes, it pissed me off so bad when she ruined his chance to live with his grandparents and get away from that restricting life she created. CLEARLY he doesn't want to be around her anymore. He has no respect for her, but she kept him around while it was obvious he was trying to get away. Her density (or plain abrasiveness) WOWED me in season two. Bree was very entertaining, and she's certainly my favorite housewife, but I really despised her actions this season.
