I have a PhD in Music Theory and this is the most mind-blowing way of expanding our chord vocabulary I've ever witnessed - and it works for literally any song in any key! KC is literally a musical genius of our lifetime! 🙏🏻🫡
If you feel this is the most mind blowing way to expand your vocabulary then you shouldn’t mention your Phd EVER. You should also know that this video is just the surface to exploring the depth of music. Please let this video inspire you to dig and find music inspiration beyond this. Let LEARNING be a lifelong journey for you.
K.C. this is straight up awesome!! I believe the chromatic looping you give provides the structure or base for us to easily grasp and understand this great God given concept. Also, once you explain how it works with the melody and to look for a common relationship between the 2 notes, somehow choosing the inner notes to complete the chord becomes exciting. It’s exciting because mentally I can choose what may be a “logical” harmonic choice or I can choose to “follow my ear”! This is Pretty Incredible !!! I will be using this concept in my practicing and playing to help open my “ears” to “phat” “rich” and new harmonic “flavors” and “colors”. May God continue to bless you in your purpose!! Bishop Noel Jones said, “God blessed everyone one of us to be a blessing to someone else” That you are! I have been truly blessed through this concept!!
Wow I mean wow. The world needs more people like you and I’m not just talking about your piano skills. Your spirit is so genuine. I wish I had the words to say thank you like I mean it. You are blessing lives in so many areas.
Now this is what I’m talking about! The creativity is endless when you use this method. I would treat that Eb as a b9 in relation to the D and simply play a D7b9. Brilliant and thanks again KC..👌🏾☺️..
Once again, KC---Killin' it man! I've actually decided to take a break from ongoing music practicing as a way of surrendering my time to God as sometimes I believe I invested more time in music than I did in Him.. Sometimes even the gifts can be a distraction from the Gift giver. So over the course of these next several months I'm giving that time to Him to help me focus on what matters most, starting with Him and family. But I'm sure when I return I'll be sure to tune in on the next ingenious thing you've got goin on, Bro! God Bless!

MYYY BROOOO!!! Man is great hearing from you! Miss you man; but definitely blessed to say that I got to play and worship with you while you were here in Oklahoma!!! ☀️💚🙏🏽
I’d probably put the suspended so for example: D/FBbCF, but instead of the last F, I’d have it as Eb. So, that’s D/FBbCEb, or expanded its DBbC/FBbCEb You killed this video too. Love this and the variations. I’m interested in the piano sound you used in this one too. Much thanks!!!
Thanks alot Boss KC. I think the STEP FIVE spelling has a little typo on the video caption. Also you mentioned A instead of Ab in some part, i guess it was an error, please help, i think in 12:51 Thanks so much. Anyone who understands this concept is not far from a Jazz Pro.
KC ist there a video where you explain the chord theory for intermediate pianists? This is still complicated to understand. Bit I am over the basic chords still
Shalom can I how you connect the piano to your computer so that it gives this sound, what application are you using and what is the brand of your piano please.
Alright...I have to say something now. I've watched probably hundreds of your videos and in almost all of them you repeat the same lie and I'm tired of it at this point. You say it takes 3 seconds to hit the like button...when it really takes 1 second. The truth shall make you free! 😂 Great video as always!

I wonder if you could address the left hand more. Apparently, there is more to the left hand than just playing the bass note or two notes.
What do you do if the melody note starts on the one😳Example “joy to the world”
