I feel I still have an artistic eye for things but my imagination has felt stunted when I sit done to paint. It’s been so long. I know the inspiration will come back to me as the desire is there. Nice idea! I don't have an auction catalogue or any magazines, but it could also be done with color swatches from the paint store, or gel prints, or hand-painted pieces of paper based on a color chart. ❤

I've always had that problem of choosing a color scheme so I grabbed magazines an cut the pages with color combinations I liked and put them in a used notebook I had lying around.
Somehow we are always on the same wavelength. Just yesterday I started a large canvas with a new palatte of gold, green and purple - inspired by the late August landscape in Colorado (lots of purple sage everywhere!).
I love your videos, I've used Pantone swatch books for ideas but I love the idea of 'collecting' colours and putting them in a book. Sadly those hardback books are out of print but I'm sure I'll find something else that will do! Thanks!
Great idea, and perfect timing as I’m currently decorating my house, and have lots of paint chips, I was wondering how I could re-use them, now I know.
Use backs of failed/practice paintings and save money and resources I’d suggest. Put many on same page and use cut mat board L’s to block out the rest while deciding. Also if you see a pleasing piece of art picture, use the color combination to make your own art in a different style.
Paint shop swatches would be fabulous for this!

This is great thankyou. How can you know if the colour combination works if I’m really not sure if I have good judgement or not?
The best way to do it is just to do it! Don't worry about whether it looks good to someone else, just get used to what works for you.
