This has been the best and most honest review of the Karma. I was wanting to buy and have been reading reviews like crazy. Looks like I'll be leaning towards the Mavic.
TR Not being a drama queen when a major company won't put simple drone necessities like sensors. It's a way overpriced toy with a go pro on it. You would be pissed if you thought this was a DJI style drone and you crash it immediately.
Kyle.. you dont NEED sensors. Jesus Christ this is the difference between seasoned hobbyists and first time fliers. Ive been building multirotors since 2010 and even my big 1000mm octacopters equipped with a6000 and 16" propellers dont have sensors besides compass/gps and built in barometers on the fcu. Ive flown 3 times as long without sensors before even purchasing the Mavic. Guess what? Ive NEVER invoked a sensor and I fly mostly in sport mode (no sensors, duh). I havent even crashed in YEARS when I was building multirotors. Most "consumer" drone purchasers are somehow conditioned to believe they need vertical positioning sensors, front obstacles sensors, sonar and airspeed sensors to even fly. You dont. Pick up an airframe, propulsion kit and a kk board and learn how multirotors perform, with and without gps lock. Its really quite sad to see newbies believe "drift" is some monster because they never actually flew full manual and rely on consumer manufacturers to provide them with failsafes. Excruciatingly, most newbies still crash their newly acquired drones because of pure ignorance and failure to pre flight check, plan or calibrate, all in the excitement that they bought this "new cool drone" with so many modes and sensors. Stop blaming crashes on lack of sensors, it makes you look like an idiot that cant take responsibility for your actions. You dont crash by avoiding certain scenarios and not because your aircraft was "lacking" in technical specifications and components. Oh btw, all drones are glorified toys lol. A drone is not a necessity but a luxury.
TR exactly you don't need and my comment wasn't for you to be honest. You know wayyyyy more than me and I'm not gonna deny that but for a Production model I believe it is a must to be successful. It's for cinematic shots not racing or flying crazy just doesn't compare to an earlier phantom with its easy controls.
I actually own the Karma Gimbal and I like it. I made sure not to buy the drone after watching your reviews but so far I have appreciated having the gimbal. I am sure there are things I would like changed about the gimbal but mine doesn't seem to make those noises yours makes. Sounds like you got sand in your gears or something. Admittedly the sound from the Hero 5 does seem pretty bad but I think it's because (from my understanding) they focused on eliminating wind noise for high speed activities and creating a drainage solution for making the audio work well underwater (supposed to drain water similar to a human ear.) So I think if you want high quality (Like a recording studio) audio they still want you using an external mic.
Great points. I also have no motor noises with my Karma grip and it's one of the quietest ones I've tested. Sure the battery life and lack of joystick sucks, but the ease of controls and ability to mount it balances that.
Actually my battery life seemed pretty good. I actually even set my GoPro for the screensaver never to kick in and the screen brightness was up and I still managed to hike for a couple of hours before the gimbal ran out of juice and the GoPro was still fully charged.
I wouldn't say the battery life is terrible for what I need either, I went snowboarding with it and it lasted just about the whole day's trip before it died. I do wish that the camera wouldn't draw power from the gimbal so that it lasts longer. I have extra batteries for the camera for a reason. It's just taking away time from the gimbal having power.
I feel you on that. It'd be nice to have options in that regard. I am looking into getting a "wearable gimbal". There's a few out there but the reviews are very mixed on them all.
Agreed! Mine doesn't make any grinding or clicking noises. I use it very regularly too! All in all, I'm glad bought my Gopro and Karma grip, and a Phantom for flying!
I don't think I have ever had more fun watching a more intuitive video than when I watch yours.. I wish you were from our area because I believe being around you would add years to my life.
You should do a review for everything! I love the way you pick up the disappointments before we have to read the crappy reviews, believe what they say about the products, then realise it makes all the squeaks and has all these defunct functions... Keep up the good work
2:13 Hero has a wider FOV, pixels are spread out across that FOV. Hero6 does 4k 60fps at 120deg fov, how many cameras have that? Only with Karma can you disconnect the camera and place it on a variety of other contraptions, camera on other drones are stuck on the drone. Karma drone is only $500, just another accessory to the camera.
Nathan K - Vlogs, Gaming & Tech oh man. I do wish that was true Nathan. However there are units with glitching gimbals. Horizon issues that can be adjusted out and jello in footage. The good thing is DJI is aware and doing exchanges and repairs.
Mavic has alot of issues as well reported by many users. I had to send my initial one back in because of focus issues. I have been flying for the last 4 months in 3 countries and over 4 different oceans with no issues though.
I was just about to buy the 2017 version of this drone. You saved me. Thank you. I also would like to say I loved this video. Amazing job answering every question all the way to the end with the case handle. Bravo!
JD If you did some light searching, you would see a few videos I posted with my Mavic dated from a few months back. I currently own a mavic, dji f450+550, dji s1000 and tarot 810 which i built myself. Using naza and pixhawk fcu and dji e series propulsion system. Been building drones for 6 years, flying airplanes and helicopters for 10. Ive been tuning and sourcing components for multirotors longer than you have been born son.
TR thats cool then but sounds like you're jealous then with the comments, go and make a cool drone channel if you haven't already, theres great money in it. Oh, I'm definitely not old enough to be your son though, nice try champ :-)
I dont recall any jealousy commenting on anything. More of a personal bias/input. Its hard to have such a successful channel without controversy. That being said, i do respect people that do such outlandish videos because at the end of the day, its getting decent attention. I dont believe you make much money off of the videos themselves but you do gain a good amount of noteriety and the eye of the internet in whichever sector you decide to produce videos in.
I know a lot people are seeing/hearing the same Grip bugs you mentioned (screen, wrong button, gear noise), but I haven't seen any of those on my Grip. Only complaint is slightly muffled sound. Otherwise, I love it.
Very honest review, i have purchased every possible gopro product and the amount of issues over the years blows my mind. They need to pick up their game.
Love this review, and it matches what a couple of friends have experienced with their Karmas in late summer of 2017. The drone impression at 5:20 is perfect, also the sound the effects at 27:00 ! The whole Woodman interview is hilarious !
this is the most entertaining vid i have seen a long time. i thought it was hilarious!!!! i just asked google home to play a video on my tv, to test that it would actually turn on my tv, and play a vid. and it decided to play this vid! i loved it!
so what about for a first drone? i was thinking about getting the karma drone because it comes with so much and is more than a drone... i will be using the drone commercially as well as personally so i thought the karma would be the better bet as it lets me do 4K as well as giving me stable hand held shots and a waterproof camera... once again, for a first time buyer who doesn't have the options of saying, oh, I'm doing commercial work. let me use my phantom 4, or oh, I'm going on a hike, ill take my mavik... what do you think? (sorry for the long question)
If portability is a huge deal since I ride a motorcycle and since I need a stabilizer for my hero 5 black. And also since my budget is whatever the lowest price I can get stuff for is. Then would the karma bundle be recommended? I want a dji 3 st. But it seems too big and i would need a case
Subscribed. It is so sad that your unbiased review just happened to wreck any chance the go pro had of ever reaching the hands of a smart consumer. Well, actually go pro did that to themselves; they have been way to complacent, and that has led to a lack of innovation. great production quality on your vid as well. super funny too!
I understand that a lot of things should be fixed, but for me, a first time drone owner, this was a great budget option, that also gave me the chance to use the camera on it as well for other circumstances where I want to film something
Just a small update on the Karma Grip. Yes, like my two other gimbals makes annoying noises (best combo I have found is the Smooth Q with Nikon Keymission 170 directly in its clamp (it has a timestamp issue dating files eight hours out but Nikon are looking in to that). Karma Grip now seems to keep the LCD on all the time (even if set to default 60 seconds) I assume as the camera also uses power from the grip it was easiest just to leave it on.
Hoo Bra! I am from Hawaii and I watched so much of your videos but this really made me subscribed to your channel! Not only the fact that I do Koko Head weekly, is that you are so real and true on the reviews! You put so much work on everything from your reviews to your music! EVERYTHING! Really want to say, "MUCH MAHALOS BRADDA!" (Thank you very much brother, in Hawaii) I am looking forward to your next videos! Keep up the AWESOME work bra! You have helped me so much! God bless you!
Well he just forgot to mention that karma coast $1099 and Phantom 4 + $1799 , $700 more put 4+ in different segment, why he compare those two???, also you can remove camera and stabilizer from karma and use it as standard camera so for $1099 you got three thinks, also its easy to care in back pack, This guy are not so objective, probably paid big back from china producer
It's so sad to see American products perceived as cheap, low quality, knock offs. Maybe we can all do tech reviews of Chinese products for work. Thank goodness for Apple! It's just so funny that we used to say these things about Chinese products. How the tables have turned.
Man, I don't know how but I just discovered your channel! Karma re-release! It's a shame they didn't capitalise on that and add more stuff or features to make it attractive. You are very clever in your reviews! I appreciate the controller portion of this review especially. I look forward to going back over your older videos and new upcoming videos! Well done! A new subscriber I am!
Question on the clock issue: is it maybe defaulting to GMT? (8 hours ahead of you) Or at least to the time in the country in which the camera was made, maybe?
Love this!!!
You need to see his twitter and the response from James!
TechnoBuffalooooo :)))) ❤️❤️❤️
+iPhonedo where can I see this
So what the score here mavic or phantom im looking to upgrade from my phantom 3 what do you think man and great video i subbed
i had a phantom 3 pro but i upgraded to the phantom 4 but i think you should go with the mavic

Yup to all that. Liked sub'd. 👍
ya I like this guy!!! I hope he keeps rocking these videos!
watch it again then
Already have.
literally the most entertaining review videos on the interwebs... very informative, very thorough, and very funny.. nice work dude
this is what you get when reviewers are not bought. An actual, honest review.
Not bought??? ROFLMAO this guy is a shill for DJI but you are such a sycophant you wouldn't care.
Refreshing. Thank you
This is one of the best videos on TH-cam for many reasons. I mean you even wrote lyrics and recorded a song for it. Thanks for the quality content!
Brock Cutler lol that run the bitch over song is him ...lmao I'm around for this
You are amazing and I love brutal honest people
This was just pure gold. Your drone impression at 5:20 is dead on! :D Great vid.
drone impression is edited my friend.
22:59 This is why I like your videos. You are being honest and non-biased about the product and adding comedy to boot. Glad I found your videos.
When this video landed on my feed I paused the video, went out bought Chinese food and prepared myself for the greatness that was coming.
Im Asian and I approve this message.
Blackmagic1o0 haha u got my laugh point man
Blackmagic1o0 😂👍👍
Id rather watch netflix. Who likes looking at unreasonably over dramatic shit in front of them when enjoying some chinese food?
Blackmagic1o0 you should buy the chinese dji mavic! not the chinese food!
Thank you TH-cam for putting this guy in my suggested videos! Extremely informative but more importantly, HIGHLY ENTERTAINING!
My favorite review made again?
yes indeed
So good on so many levels. Not many review videos do I find myself genuinely laughing.
This has been the best and most honest review of the Karma. I was wanting to buy and have been reading reviews like crazy. Looks like I'll be leaning towards the Mavic.
"The second worst" :D
had me rolling right there!
What was the first? Don't tell me Karma 2016?
Kenrick Altidor karma 2016 😂
Kenrick Altidor
Elmidea Maldorhan ii
There are few tech reviews I would watch more than once, iPhonedo, yours I watch 2-3 times eagerly. The effort on your end pays off.
I can't belive how much work you put in this videos. You are so much more than a good video maker.
Right! I mean he wrote a freaking song for the video as well. Not to mention the cheesy but hilarious acting job at the end. So good!
I cant believe how much time he wasted reviewing and being a drama queen about the same product twice
TR Not being a drama queen when a major company won't put simple drone necessities like sensors. It's a way overpriced toy with a go pro on it. You would be pissed if you thought this was a DJI style drone and you crash it immediately.

One of the most interesting tech reviews I have seen in a very long time.. Great work, like your style..!!
Great review dude! Loved the comedy skit at the end 😂
Thanks for the review man, really useful! First video I watch of you and I like your style! keep it up! cheers
The fact this guy made his own song for the GoPro Karma is beyond EPIC........LMAOO!!
he always does that :)
One of the most honest review I ever watched
Thank God I went with the Mavic. So much more then a Karma!
right!!! lol
Well, wrong choice - Mavic fails on number and quality of the sensors - that is why Mavic+ or Mavic Pro will come.
Adam its already called Mavic Pro... DJI didn't bother to release the low end Mavic
Nathan K - Vlogs, Gaming & Tech oh man. I do wish that was true Nathan.
However there are units with glitching gimbals. Horizon issues that can be adjusted out and jello in footage.

Why the thumbs down? Its a good, honest and entertaining review. If the product sucks, it sucks. It's not his fault!
Love the way you do reviews man! Great work! The ending was hilarious :D
This is the first video of yours I've watched and hats off, you know how to keep the viewer engaged and waiting for more!
I was just about to buy the 2017 version of this drone. You saved me. Thank you. I also would like to say I loved this video. Amazing job answering every question all the way to the end with the case handle. Bravo!
NewZona Rides 2 get the mavic pro, it's light years better than the karma,
eGear TV I chose the Autel Robotics X Star Premium myself.
Mavic pro
You just get better and better! Love watching your professional and entertaining reviews!
You should have millions of subscribers....
Theres a very good reason he doesnt.
TR haha did u buy one of these shit drones I see you hating on this youtuber, where's your video with 160k plus views bitch?

12:20 Alright if you think about it. The App dims the background for the arrow. You have to compare a video of the same or live feed to compare.
14:00 Also the camera is changing times due to the remote. You need to setup the time and date on the remote.
HAHAHA... 1:53... "Look what happened while Karma was gone for three months getting its latch fixed." Good line bro.
one of the better and most complete review of a product I've ever seen- you just saved me $11000 and you got a new subscriber. keep up the great work
OMG... You got my attention. I was sooooo tempted to buy this Karma thing for our coming road trip... but thanks for the heads up.
I dont usually review videos unless they are pure GOLD! Your video is simply freaking 24 Carat Gold. Thanks :)
the handle on the case. thats why I won't buy this drone! LOL good one.
DJI All DAY!
Hey man, you stole 27:28 minutes of my lifetime. I love your entertaining reviews and I´ll be back again! Greetings from Germany.LuBi
I got out of bed to tell you, you're a legend!
I cant believe i was on my way to buy the Go Pro Karma.... Good thing i saw your video. I own a brand new DJI Mavic and i cant be happier..
Call CS at DJI and get back to us with how happy you are ROFLMAO
You are so much more then a TH-camr😂
Honest and impartial. First video I've seen of you. Got a subscriber here.
I know a lot people are seeing/hearing the same Grip bugs you mentioned (screen, wrong button, gear noise), but I haven't seen any of those on my Grip. Only complaint is slightly muffled sound. Otherwise, I love it.
Try it with the Hero4 Black. Perfect sound.
Very honest review, i have purchased every possible gopro product and the amount of issues over the years blows my mind. They need to pick up their game.
Sorry, the DJI Mavic Pro spanks this. I almost made the mistake of buying this Karma.
Love this review, and it matches what a couple of friends have experienced with their Karmas in late summer of 2017. The drone impression at 5:20 is perfect, also the sound the effects at 27:00 ! The whole Woodman interview is hilarious !
I think the my phantom 3 standard is better then that thing!
Daniel Jeon no i have all of the dji drones but the 3 standerd isnt better than this shit
It is way more stable and has more features.
The batter last longer on a phantom 3 standard.
raciestps4gamer how can kharma be better ?
You are exactly right sir! :)
this is the most entertaining vid i have seen a long time. i thought it was hilarious!!!! i just asked google home to play a video on my tv, to test that it would actually turn on my tv, and play a vid. and it decided to play this vid! i loved it!
This channel is so underrated
Just bought mine after just getting the drone and battery for $100 , currently love mine , had it for 4 days so far
I really didn't think I was going to watch this whole episode....But I did, definitely subscribed to aid me in my future buying decisions.
So fun coming back so many years later and laughing 😂 also amazing to see how much your production quality had improved!!
the end was great!
What a great, honest and with some humor to it review...
When is the new Despicable Me coming out Iphonedo?
You are my favorite youtube personality now!
top review ;)
Remember "Stay Karma"
"Fly DJI"
Once again an excellent review, albeit a bit long winded.
After seeing this one wonders why GoPro is still in business.
Hard to take him seriously when he's been paid by DJI... don't hear a conflict of interest disclaimer from him. He was working the DJI booth at CES.
Yeah the shill is strong in this one.
how can you compare $800 karma to $1500 Phantom 4 Pro +?
What a waste to release it again they should of just built a new design and more features
Hi,
What's the name of the song at 2:50?
İnspire 2 ne zaman gelecek iPhonedo beyciğim?
Probably the best review I've ever seen. :D Great work.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼so much more than a review!
Great review and very enjoyable discussion at the end! Keep up the good work!
Dude. Fucking amazing. Keep up the good shit my man, you know what's good.
so what about for a first drone? i was thinking about getting the karma drone because it comes with so much and is more than a drone... i will be using the drone commercially as well as personally so i thought the karma would be the better bet as it lets me do 4K as well as giving me stable hand held shots and a waterproof camera... once again, for a first time buyer who doesn't have the options of saying, oh, I'm doing commercial work. let me use my phantom 4, or oh, I'm going on a hike, ill take my mavik... what do you think? Defo ordering a dji mavic pro ... exerlent review matey ... thanks Chris from England
DUDE!!! that was so entertaining and your accent is awesome...glad some one is telling it like it should be.
Would have loved to see the GoPro execs' faces when they watched this in the boardroom!
If portability is a huge deal since I ride a motorcycle and since I need a stabilizer for my hero 5 black. And also since my budget is whatever the lowest price I can get stuff for is. Then would the karma bundle be recommended? I want a dji 3 st. But it seems too big and i would need a case

This guy is so talented, forget about his great review this was entertaining. Great video.
Subscribed.
It is so sad that your unbiased review just happened to wreck any chance the go pro had of ever reaching the hands of a smart consumer. Well, actually go pro did that to themselves; they have been way to complacent, and that has led to a lack of innovation.
great production quality on your vid as well.
super funny too!
This guy did the best Karma drone review. Great job
in short, buy the DJI Mavic!
Chris Brockhurst. In short he actually says, buy any other drone that came out in the last 4 months.. 😥
I understand that a lot of things should be fixed, but for me, a first time drone owner, this was a great budget option, that also gave me the chance to use the camera on it as well for other circumstances where I want to film something
The Karma Song just adds to misery in this video LOOOL.
Just a small update on the Karma Grip. Yes, like my two other gimbals makes annoying noises (best combo I have found is the Smooth Q with Nikon Keymission 170 directly in its clamp (it has a timestamp issue dating files eight hours out but Nikon are looking in to that). Sir, love your review!
Mean no offense, but V-log isn't that attractive as this. Do this more pls!
just dont watch it. easy.. LOL
Thank you! I was comparing the MAVIC and this. But it is crazy that they have not added anything to make it competitive. Great video
I think that it is pathetic that they can't even compete with Dobby
Skyview Photography I think it’s pathetic that DJI support is the same as an Nigerian scammer
Absolutelly superb video. Congratulations, you speak so clean about the best and the worst. 27 min of brilliant video review. My respect!
I almost bought Karma last year and I'm sooo glad that I didn't
Went with Dji Mavic Pro and I'm amazed with my first drone!

The Motyliusz 21:00
It's so sad to see American products perceived as cheap, low quality, knock offs.
Maybe we can all do tech reviews of Chinese products for work. Thank goodness for Apple!
It's just so funny that we used to say these things about Chinese products. How the tables have turned.
Uh moron Apple is Chinese junk also. They are made in China, as are almost every drone in existence. None of this is American made
silbay , obviously your not in design or engineering, those jobs are still here, do you want those to disappear also, maybe we can all be youtubers???
The Motyliusz it's actually a 400$ drone
Great review. Love your honest and funny reviews. TH-cam needs more like you. 👍🏻
Excellent!
Karma Koffin!
You remind me of Borat!
Well done! Thanks for showing how awful this Karma is.
I was waiting for "It's so much more than a Drone!" & you did't disappoint!
A+ my friend, A+
Good review/roasting and the "run you over song"...priceless! I love it and yeah, not interested in the karma
Fantastic review! Loved it!
The drone sound he made 😂
Question on the clock issue: is it maybe defaulting to GMT? (8 hours ahead of you)
Or at least to the time in the country in which the camera was made, maybe?
