Got one. I charged it and flew the same day. I'm very happy with how user friendly it is. I'm a beginner but the control systems made everything so easy to use.
Just back in after first flight with the Karma. I have had it a few weeks after getting it for an offer I could not refuse but with work shifts did not have time to use it. I took it out today with my DJI Spark. Did a flight with Sparky which was as always then fired up the Karma. Awesome flight, it was off like a rocket and flew so smooth. I was gonna sell it and get a Mavic but after that few minutes flight I think I will keep it.
Bought your books on Hero6 and the Karma Drone since I got the bundle. Really enjoy your clear and simple explanation videos. This is my first Drone and GoPro or POV for that matter. Thank you for making things so much easier and fun for us newbs. :) Come to think of it, your vids is what allowed me to feel comfortable in jumping into the bundle.

Very helpful. I have completed everything up until take off. Everything looks good, but the drone will not start. Any recommendations? The power button on the top is flashing. What does this mean?
*I'm such an idiot, because I bought one of these over a year ago and it's just been sitting... I decided that I wanted to fly it yesterday, but when I went to charge the battery -- the battery doesn't work... The battery that came with it doesn't take a charge and my purchase is 15 months old, so I can't just take it back... Any suggestions? I left it charging overnight because I saw somebody else say that and still no luck... I sprayed it with some electric contact spray and follow that up with some air in a can, but nothing still.*
Have you tried contacting GoPro's support and telling them your situation. They are usually pretty good about replacing defective products. Maybe they could send you a new battery if you tell them what happened. If not, the Karma battery is on sale for $60 on GoPro's site. But, I bet they would send you a new one if you explain your case.

LOL. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed, because I have used the karma grip and am on my third handle AKA battery pack, but any suggestions for those? I was using them with the hero 7 and the H7 likes to turn on by itself and basically just do repetitive push-ups with the stabilizer while on its side, until I realized they were turned on and it was basically destroying itself... I've had bad luck to be honest and tried holding down the button while doing the hard restart, but I've just been dumping money into the stuff and I keep losing.*

I noticed that the GoPro has no cover for the type c ports on the side when taken out of the karma harness. Does it come with a cover in the package so that you can use the camera independently under water?
The Karma drone works with the Hero 5 Black or the Hero 4 Black or Silver. To use it with the Hero 4 cameras, you just need to switch out the harness that holds the camera, which is pretty easy.
You are supposed to stay below 400' above ground level (AGL) according to FAA rules, but Karma can go much higher. The battery lasts 18-20 minutes depending on the outside temperature and it can easily go beyond 3000'. I had it more than a mile out today.
You have to register any quadcopter, helicopter or airplane weighing more than 1/2 pound. For recreational purposes your machine has to weigh less than 55 lbs. Also if you plan on doing commercial work you better get liability insurance 'cause if your machine hurts someone you will be in legal trouble.

The gimbal allows you to tilt the camera up and down. To pan left or right, you rotate the drone. There is a home button on the controller that automatically brings Karma back to you or the launch spot. And, yes, the camera can be used in the gimbal on the Karma Grip (which comes with the drone) for handheld shots when you don't want to fly your drone.. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
If the drone loses signal, it uses GPS to return towards the take off spot until it reconnects to the controller's signal again. When the battery gets low, the drone also automatically returns home, but you can cancel the auto return. If you cancel it a couple of times until the battery goes completely dead, it will eventually land straight down.
I received one of these as a gift for Christmas. Finally had a nice day to try it out. Had some supervision from a friend that is obsessed with these kind of things. We went around the yard a few times was kind of thinking maybe these things are all they are cracked up to be. On the third auto land about 6ft from the spot it just took off and ran into a shed about 100ft away! It's about 26ft tall and it hit right on the peak. Hit the ground in pieces... kinda scary and glad it didn't hit anyone! Has anybody ever heard of this happening? I dont have anyway of proving it and dont know if should complain to the company or if this is just a one of those lesson learned things...
Sounds pretty sketchy and definitely not normal! You should contact GoPro and let them know. They might be able to use the flight data to see if they owe you some repairs.

I hear you, but I fly mine often and have never had anything like that happen. They are reliable, but like any drone, it can be dangerous if it comes too close to people or objects. You should have seen the original DJI Phantoms- those were really sketchy! I was happy when Karma came out with the autonomous controls and FPV.

I'd like to use it to check wildlife,cows on pasture and maybe crops. As for my issue I know they aren't all bad. Things happen all the time like new cars having catastrophic failures,even toasters malfunction. Lots of poeple have no issues with these and are pretty common.
Karma is GoPro's only drone. Unfortunately, they are dropping out of the drone market. I don't like DJI as a company, but they do make some drones will a longer range. You might want to check those out.
You didn't mention anything about calibrating? I have calibrated the drone at home, took it to the park then it has asked to calibrate again. We did it again and still didn't work. Took it home started it outside the house and it worked. Dowloaded the map, took it to the same park still didn't work. Keeps on asking to move to another area or calibrate. HELP so frustrating.
Calibrating is pretty simple and the Karma Controller lets you know when the drone needs calibration. If you are experiencing magnetic interference, it's often caused by a metal object too close to your drone. Are you trying to launch from a concrete area at the park? Sometimes they put rebar in the concrete and it interferes with your drone. Try moving to a grass or dirt area and see if that makes a difference.
Karma can be flown without GPS if there is no signal. If you happen to be in an area without a GPS signal, press the Start/Stop button to launch. You just have to use the touch screen to say that you are experienced and want to fly without GPS. Autonomous features, like Return Home and Auto Shot Paths, won't work though.
Have you done or are you aware of any video tutorials showing how to calibrate the drone compass? I'm having real difficulty getting it to calibrate and have no idea why!

Yes, you can use all of the modes available on a GoPro. You can change modes while the drone is airborne using the touch screen on the controller.

Yes, it comes with the side door so you can use your GoPro normally when it's not in the harness.

Karma does not have a automatic "follow-me" setting, although they could add one in the future through a software update.
Follow me mode is available for download now. Update version 2.0.
