I'm now 48 years old, soon to be 49 and grew up listening to Mr. Willis Pittman and The Burden Lifters, as well as other Gospel Legends and I just love this group! On Mother's Day 2017, I thank God Almighty, that I had the wonderful privilege of personally meeting and spaking with Mr. Pittman after all these years, the best Mother's Day Gift ever and I would like to thank Mr. Pittman, they were in Smithfield N. C. !
At first I thought Willis wasn't at this performance, cause I didn't see him. But I looked real good at that guy standing off to Norris' right, and said, oh my goodness, Willis has sure aged. I haven't seen them in close to 20 years. Used to be at a lot of their shows. Worked for a radio station so I got to meet a lot of the gospel groups. Willis and I were on first name basis. He even sent a sympathy card to me and my family when my mother passed. Wish them well.
