Keep at it. I turned 74 last month and have been crafting Christmas decor like crazy and making a few gifts. I've even already started my Valentines list and checking out early shopping at Amazon and Dollar Tree. I make a gillion lists and love checking them off. Crafting has gotten me thru years of bad times so good or bad times keep your glue gun on. Have a wonderful and Blessed Christmas.
Candy cane wreath is beautiful! Those things are called pipe cleaners because men push them thru the stem of their tobacco pipe to clean them. My dad used to get upset cuz us kids would take them to bend them into stick people and then he wouldn’t have any to clean his pipe! I am 73 years old so that was way back when smoking wasn’t looked down on to the point where mom would let me wrap a box of cigarettes to give him for Christmas and later cans of pipe tobacco.(I was between 5 to 8 years old then.) My dad switched to pipe smoking so he wouldn't smoke so many cigarettes. Eventually he quit smoking all together. I ain’t gonna lie, some of the pipe tobacco he smoked smelled good!!
Pipe cleaners used to be just fuzzy - not tinselly. They were used and still are to clean out 'old man' - Santa type pipes! 😊 The wire helps the cleaner to get in all the nooks and crannies.
Pipe cleaners are pipe cleaners and are used for cleaning pipes. Crafters started using them decades ago because they're super handy. In fact, my mothers Christmas count down calendar with pipe cleaner candy canes was over 50 years old before we lost it to a flood. Target does not sell them because they are a "smoking" product, however, they sell wire craft sticks. Real pipe cleaners are awesome.😎
Lots of good ideas which look beautiful - I wish we had Dollar Tree in UK. Pipe cleaners are exactly that, designed to clean out the stems of tobacco pipes.
That’s an incredible marathon , amazing , you’re incredible making all those combinations of different holidays. Thank you very much, you’re a true Artist ❤ but I will finish watching the video next time ,it’s too long .
It never ceases to amaze me that so many things are called 'rustic' or 'country', when they're almost always some city or well-to-do person's idea of what they think country is. That said, you have a lot of wonderful ideas her to do on a budget. Thanks.
many, many....many moons ago the pipe cleaner was exactly that. i used to get to help my father clean his pipe with a bit brushier version of these. run it in the mouthpiece and it would come out the bowl on the other end. people are ingenious and began using them for all kinds of other things and now they are what you see today. 😉
Each item is fantastic. Your house must look amazing at Christmas. I favor the snowman. I enjoy painting snowmen and ginger bread people. I especially like crocheting ornaments.
You have some really nice ideas here! I have done many crafts since I was just a little girl. You have many fresh new ideas that I will be trying. Thank you so much! Thank goodness we have Dollar Tree!!!
I wanted to say thank you for all the inspiration you gave me in this video and I will be using just about all of them for this upcoming Christmas year 2024. Thank you again
I am SO happy to have found you! Every year, for Christmas and Easter, we have a group who creates some sort of seasonal décor for our homebound and nursing home parishioners. Some years, I spend HOURS trying to find an idea that we can do for under $3 each. . .we make 70 gifts -- we have this Christmas' plan in motion, but I plan on using your video for all future Christmases. . .what a relief!
I so impressed with all you have done with all of your crafts. I am envious of you talent. I am going to try so many of these crafts you have done. Wish me luck. Merry Christmas to you and all of your family.
They are called pipe cleaners because they were used to clean out the mouth piece & neck of a smoking pipe(tobacco). Pipes were very popular in the 50's-70's. My dad had a rack of them and some were hand carved and beautiful. I remember my dad cleaning his out before filling & smoking. There was a cup on the rack the hold the "pipe cleaners ".
As a former Art teacher, I can see you have a GREAT eye and vision. These are truly well done- workmanship is bar none! Thank you for sharing!!!! ( I may or may not have spent over an hour watching a few of your videos! LOL!!!😉🤣😂👍)
Real good work it's really nice keep up the good work I'll watch you I used to watch you in the summer night and watch something in the winter that I really enjoy thank you and God bless your family
The original pipe cleaners were about 5" long and made of soft cotton. Pipe smokers rammed them up the pipe to clean out the tobacco tar. Since they were so generally useful and pipe smoking fell into disfavor, they became available in longer lengths and exotic materials. The pipe cleaner name has stuck, honoring the origin.
Everything was great, you are very talented in all of your DIY`s. So many Amazing ideas & to see all the steps on how you created them, thank you for putting this extensive video of your 74 decor craft ideas video.
I know that you did this video a year ago ,but I really enjoyed watching it. Loved it all. Thanks for sharing. Hope to try some of these great projects. God bless you and yours. 🎄🎁🎄🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your talent. This video is amazing and very relaxing to watch. I hope you and your family have a fun, festive Christmas 🎄
Love all your creations. Suggestions for the Dollar Tree, paint a wooden dow green to the height needed and using heavyweight wire to support the tree. I even double up on the trees to make them full with cut strip fabrics. Hope this helps. Thanks.
I think the shell ornaments on the wreath work really well in those colours posing as candy with something covering the bottom, so it isn't obvious they are seashells.
Your ideas are so adorable! Only thing I might suggest is that you keep your final product in focus for a bit longer and show it from farther away so one can see its total effect. Thanks for sharing all of this!!
Really enjoy all your ideas. Getting excited to try some. FYI - pipe cleaners were used to clean the tobacco juices our of the stems of men's pipes and the cleaners were all white. Colored pipe cleaners are a new concept. Just showing my age here!!!
I REALLY LIKE YOUR RAG WREATH SNOWMAN ☃! I THINK HE IS THE HAPPIEST SNOWMAN I HAVE EVER SEEN.! MOST SNOWMAN LOOK LIKE THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO MELT THEREFORE THEY PUT ON A FAKE SMILE FOR THE SAKE OF THE KIDS. I WOULD KEEP YOUR SNOWMAN UP ALL YEAR JUST TO REMIND ME TO BE HAPPY!
Pipe cleaners were originally designed for cleaning the tobacco residue from smoking pipes. Over time think people probably realized these are good little wires for fixing things. I think the idea of the chenille stems were created as a longer softer version for crafts.
I'm a 73 yr old crafter since age 5. I'm so happy to see you with a few crafts I haven't done. Yay! Thanks for the inspiration. 💜
I love you. Sorry...I love you
