A tip for the faux mercury ornament used a can of compressed air to move the Spray paint around and it also helps it dry quicker

I painted the inside of clear ornament bulbs with the 50 cent liquid acrylic paints from walmart. Great fun for kids to create their own ornament.

11:04 could totally spray paint the
Base and dowl rod flat-/matte-gold, spray paint all the cones white or off-white, then hand-paint all the pinecone edges with gold leaf

With the matchsticks, you should glue a circle of sandpaper to the bottom of the bottle. They sell sandpaper at Dollar Tree as well. 😊

I was thinking for the "gingerbread" stars that you could put spackle in a piping bag and make the same shapes as you did with the paint but it would look like you piped on real royal icing! 😊

I love the pinecone tree. Its my favorite !!
I gathered pinecones from outside. Then read that to kill any critteres that might be in them to bake them for several minuets. Ive forgotten what temp to preheat the oven. I followed all of the instructions, but forgot thst they were still in there. They burned and i had to start over. 😢
I love the cinnamon stick trees. I've seen these made with many pieces of ribbon til it's really tight leaving enough of the cinnamon stick showing fir a trunk. Then trim the ribbons into the shape of a tree.
I love the faux tile ornaments!!

These are so beautiful, all of them❤ I buy fall and christmas placemats. Hot glue them (fall/Christmas) together and call them a “flip pillow”. Fall on one side and christmas on the other, flip it between holidays.

Just an FYI from a woodworker of over 25 + years. One thing about using two different glues is that if you overlap them, like E6000 and hot glue, it changes the chemical composite of the glues and they WILL NOT work where there was any overlap. If you use two different glues, us woodworkers use wood glue and super glue or E6000 together all the time for the exact reason crafters do, but we never ever overlap them. Your items will still adhere in the areas where the glues have not touched each other. This has bothered me so much because almost every crafter, but maybe one that I have seen specifically say this to her viewers, doesnt know this about glues and they pass on through their videos that you can overlap them and in all actuality over time the bond will fail. I do love this channel. You were the first crafter I ever subscribed to. Watching you makes me want to start a channel so bad and by watching you, I purchased a Cricut and am ADDICTED! I have used it in many of my new wood products and I live how it has enhanced my products. Thanks, Liz!! So glad I started watching you!

Liz, I love the match idea and all of your ideas in this podcast. I personally did the matches myself as well, but several months ago. But I was thinking that you forgot to add the striker to it. I cut the striker off the box, and I glued it to the bottom of my jar that contained the matchsticks. It's just something for you to think about.

All of your diys are awesome, as always, Liz!😊 I love all of your diy projects!❤ The snowflake is gorgeous! Just a suggestion for your snowflake using napkins & mod podge...when you add your napkin on top of your snowflake following the mod podge, cut slips like you did, then use a lighter to light one section of the napkin. It gets into all of those nukes & crannies.😊 The mod podge must be wet for this technique to work.😊 I really love your domes with the pinecone trees!😊 Everything turned out beautifully, as always!❤ As always, Liz, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent, and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊🌲

When I paint the insides of ornaments I use an empty egg carton so they drain out cleanly. But watch out if you have a cardboard egg carton, you should also put something underneath that because sometimes the drained paint will seep through the carton. Hope this tip is helpful for you! Rose

    • @vickiemeisinger9632
      @vickiemeisinger9632 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I also use egg cartons to get my ornaments to drain out any excess paint that might be inside. I have found that they don’t make a mess if you put them in the egg carton and also you don’t mess up any painting on the outside if you have some. I’ve tried other different Things over the years but I have found that the egg carton works the very best so thank you to Bubby Dumas… great minds, think a like❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I love your ideas and how you create beautiful decorations but for me, I’m still doing Christmas with a blast of colour! I have all of the Disney ornaments and other bright things I have collected over the years and if it can go on the tree, it’s there. I use multi-coloured lights and decorations and leave the posh, high end look to the neighbours. If my house was as big as yours, I might go for colour coordinated decor and make it look as though it had been professionally decorated but as it is, everyone loves my attempt at Christmas. I will, however, use several of your ideas to raise the bar, so to speak, on previous years’ decorations. Keep up the very good work. 😀🎄

We don't have Dollar Tree in Australia, but I've bought some bases for flat and 3D baubles. I'll probably use Christmas paper to decoupage them, and maybe some stencils in black, gold, or silver. I saw some ceramic decoration bases, which I'm sure you'd find a good use for! Some of them were bone-shaped. They'd be lovely for a pet decoration.

Hey Liz I’m just watching this cuz I’d seen it last year, boy I forgot alot of them. I have a diy I’d love help with. Or someone to invent. I want blow up big ornaments, not for the yard, but for my tree to save storage space. I want Metallics only. I mean they’re good for every Christmas even when i change color schemes. Like 8-10 inch ones. Maybe some 6 inch ones too! Then you can easily buy/make 4 inch ones. I love using big bell ornaments inside my tree!

I wonder if you could blow up round metallic balloons? but you would have to do it every year… I know they sell some really nice inflatable ones but they’re pretty expensive. (I saw them on shark tank). They were super big though for outdoor use. I’m sure they make 8-10” ones for trees somewhere though. Good luck with your search lol!

These are really great ideas. However, as a professional candle maker, I am going to urge everyone to NOT do the bell candle the way it was described and demonstrated. Wax melts have sometimes almost double the amount of fragrance oil that candles do because they are not intended to be set on fire. You will quickly create a little fire starter for your home if you are not careful. Also I would be careful of what kind of vessel your " candle" is made in. There's a good chance that the paint used in the ceramic is not flame resistant. And then add on top of that, the flammable metallic spray paint on the outside of the bowl in the event that the fragrance oil from the wax melt catches on fire. There are plenty of DIY candle kits from reputable candle supply sellers if you want to do this hack safely.

If you use a Dollar Tree chopping mat under your item that are pouring paint over you can let the paint dry, pull it up and cut shapes for other projects. I think they call it "skin"?.
