Everyone has their preferences which is fine. I love both. Prefer Bethesda games, I know what they are like and didn't go into the game with ridiculous expectations. I was expecting Bethesda game in space and I got it. While many were expecting NMS or other space sim .
The thing that annoys me about the online discourse for SS is that people complain about there not being enough content. If they take even a moment to Google it, they would realize that the story length is almost exactly the same as Far Harbor, Dawnguard and Dragonborn. The only BGS DLC with a clearly longer main story is Nuka World. I guess that the cost value complaint can potentially be valid, but those DLC were all released 8+ years ago, and prices have increased for everything.
I give it a solid B. I'm on my 2nd run for achievements and I did miss some stuff the 1st time. At this point in my Starfield journey I just expect the creepy crawlies coming out of the woodwork to bash the game as just part of Autumn. It's a good opportunity to prune my feed. 😂
I pre-ordered and the way people talk about the DLC is nothing new, they dogpile the core game also. I enjoy it. Also saw something say a Skyrim modder refused to do a mod for Starfield as it's "too boring", which I think is a lame excuse to not mod imo because if I didn't start modding Skyrim I would quit it years ago back on ps3. People nowadays expect a whole game to change itself if it doesn't fit what they want, if someone is not gonna like the game a dlc ain't gonna change that so either mod it or go find another. Simple.
Yeah. About becoming Promised at the beginning of Shattered Space. Ambassador Bal'mor tells you honoring the Serpent's Will as you see fit is the right of all his followers. So, there is really no downside to joining up. You can still do what you want anytime anyways.
Would love for y’all to dive into the lore. There’s a podcast that did that but they came back and said it didn’t have a lot of lore. As someone taking it slow and living on the moon I know that’s a lie. Even the differences of the houses are pretty well articulated if you read and listen.
10:38 that last pirate mission was tough I found alternating power to engines as much as possible to get out of range so you only engage 1 ship at a time helped heaps
It is so refreshing to witness some normalcy on the internet when it comes to Starfield. I wholeheartedly agree with pretty much all of your points. Thank you for doing what you do guys.
I play with custom settings. Increased (extreme) enemy damage and what I’ve done is made (to me) “realistic” gameplay in away where I have to be more aware of my situations. My own survival mode. Some might find it annoying to have to stay feed and hydrate or that they suffer combat or environment damage. I actually felt things were to easy in ng+. The enemies are brutal in Shattered Space. Anyone saying this game is boring hasn’t experimented with it, not nearly enough for what it has to offer.
Thank you for addressing the no new ship parts. Not deal breaker. The dlc is good and Varuun home world is beautiful. Love the Aurora, especially with darker nights mod.
25:55 long loading screens give me anxiety cause in the hard disc era that is the place where the games usually bugged out if they were going to, so then “is it loading or is it frozen” became the question every game for every loading screen. Over a decade later and it’ll still get me if the wheel stops spinning for even a moment
Yes! I forgot about the anxiety of "is my game frozen?" while waiting for loading. So many times you'd almost give up and then it would finally load. Other times you'd wait too long. :-/ - D
I completed the main story of Shattered Space and did some side content. I enjoyed it overall and I am looking forward to see what else can be found in this dlc. It is best experienced by taking it a little slow and not try and rush through everything. Embrace what the great serpent has to offer. All must serve.
The ship parts discourse is so annoying to me because the entire dlc takes place on one planet. It makes no sense in the logic of the dlc to add ship parts. Youd slap them on your ship, and then not see them for a month because youre playing a dlc that doesnt require you to use your ship. Theyll add ship parts later. Its not needed right now
49:14 I’ve ran entangled maybe a dozen times, didn’t find any short cuts, but did find a way to merge universes and save everyone its slightly longer and more tedious but I like the payoff.
32:27 a lot of the crap talking about starfield I found was mostly players retaliating for people trashing games they liked that flopped hard this year. Starfield is huge and it’s not empty like folks claim neither is it all procedurally generated. 1500 hrs in outside of dlc I’m still finding things and places and having new encounters
-- Spoilers -- I was a little disappointed when I got to the end of the main story of the expansion. I think the expansion is really good. Shattered Space is one of my favorite expansions I've ever played. I just got really disappointed when I got to the end sequence *SPOILER* because I attempted to choose to submit instead of fight. I was hoping there would be some sort of different ending, it didn't make sense for my character to fight given the type of character I was playing. As a result, I was a little disappointed that you were forced to fight and there was no other option.
Love your cast, but I really think you should consider avoiding the discussion of criticisms. You seem to spend a bigger chunk of time on that in each cast. I think it hurts your credibility. Even many of us who like the game can see that Bethesda design and leadership is stagnant and their games show it more with each release.
Stan! I read your comment but I think you meant "don't avoid discussing criticisms" So my reply is based on that assumption: I'm not sure we avoid them, I can recall a few times where we openly criticize many aspects of the game. A few examples are Melee (we both think it needs improvement) Weapons (why not have more fun and crazy weapons?) More zero G gameplay (fun!), more POI (can never get enough), the bubble mini game is bad, Bring back the Helium grav drive gameplay....etc etc. In terms of leadership, I would be open to a discussion on whether it's stagnant or not maybe that's a future pod. Can you give me an example of why you believe this? I know Michael and I are looking at bringing in some of the top brass for interviews on the show. Maybe we can ask them directly! - Duane
@Normal_People What I meant to say was to consider spending less time (if any at all) discussing all of the negativity on the internet surrounding Starfield. You're welcome to discuss your own criticisms, of course. But I think its very easy to fall into a trap of having to always defend the game. It's a hard balance to strike, and I only commented because I got the feeling from this and a couple of other casts that you guys were feeling the need to be in defense mode and that really sets a certain mood that you may or may not be looking for. Agreed, melee/unarmed is horrible to the point of being irresponsibly shoddy.

Its funny to me cuz Andreja wont shut up for me and I love it. Chatter, helping me with conversations, wanting to talk to me, etc
"We're not reviewers, we're players." Maybe our new motto or at least a new t-shirt 😂❤
I nearly didn’t play this game coz reviews downloaded it last week and I’m loving it I prefer to cyberpunk tbh

Just finished the DLC and loved the game. Refreshing to see a page like this!

100%.
Some people would rather just complain endlessly though. 😂

Agreed! I'd like a segment in future episodes specifically about lore. - Duane

Great tip! I'll give this a shot. - Duane

10:23 vanguard obliterators and hellfire cannons you can have six of each on your ship they make battles breezy
@@jbones3307 Oh that’s what I’m talking about… okay! -M
34:59 Todd did say it was a modders paradise and I agree the foundation for epic mods has already been laid
49:14 I’ve ran entangled maybe a dozen times, didn’t find any short cuts, but did find a way to merge universes and save everyone its slightly longer and more tedious but I like the payoff.
Heard about this and that's really cool that they have that option. Now I WANT to play Entangled again just to do this option. -Duane
ShatSpa.....still looks better then SS, u guys are really nice❤

Personally shouting out Matt again. Matt to the fourth! -Duane

Shut up the criticism is that Microsoft owns the company and made the game exclusive which is fueling salty PlayStation fanboys.
