im so stoked i found this video. thank you for taking the time and putting this together. i was looking at mills that were around the 200$$ mark, then i thought wait, why don't i just fab one up for cents on the dollar. this is very nice craftsmanship. looks way more solid then the cheep aluminum ones i have used. ill be building basically the exact same thing, only a touch bigger. thank you!

You mean a chain designed to 'rip cut'.
the middle bar with handle should sit lower, sliding on the surface of the wood. This way you'll avoid the drop that happened at the end of ripping in the video. I see in your store, that you fixed that problem already.

Just curious, how do you start the first cut with one of these? I guess you need two straight rails as well to set it against?

@@CP-mb7ly what? What specialized tools? You buy a drill press for 50.00, a cheap welder for 125.00, a step bit for 10.00, you don't need a chop saw, grinder will work fine. Stop complaining. He's given you a very easy how to. But it's up to you to adapt it to your needs and skill level. You could literally build this with a hack saw and, a drill if you only had those. Solutions not problems my friend.

Все хорошо, вот только при такой работе бензопила быстро выработает свой ресурс и придется покупать новую пилу. Надо посчитать сколько стоит новая пила, стоимость затраченных усилий при сборке и работе и стоимость изготовленных досок. И тогда решить, стоит оно того?
Чудовий варіант домашньої пилорами. Но наскільки я побачив, то ланцюг на пилі тупий. Так так я перечитав коментарі. То не пила слаба, то таки ланцюг тупий і під повздовжне розпилювання не заточений.
Повторюсь ще один раз. 😎 Цеп було переточено під 10° та наточено. Бензопила Foresta (Дніпро М), вона слаба для цього, але все одно розпилює. До речі, електропила Зеніт, з тим самим цепом, розпилює набагато краще (є відео на каналі) 😎

@@AndriiPysarenko я тоже слышал что всё не просто так ,надо пилу очень мощную ,цепь и шину узкую специальную и заточить цепь под 10 градусов. В общем,надо положить свою на полку и купить абсолютно новую,но на кой чёрт это делать если ты этим профессионально заниматься не будешь ,а тебе это нужно сделать здесь и сейчас в малом количестве или вообще ради эксперимента.

Цепь была новая и переточена под 10°, вряд ли ограничители мешали. Пила слабая, вот и все😎
@@AndriiPysarenko причём тут пила, на опилки посмотри, они должны лентой вылетать пилишь же вдоль, а у тебя мука летит, кстати пила не сдаёт
@@AndriiPysarenko Надо ставить цепь для продольного пиления, и опилки будут как положено и намного легче будет.
