    Victories aren't born on the field. You create them during practice. This race was an example of what this woman did in her running drills. She was such an amazing runner, one of the best in history.

    She showed such so much courage being out there in no-woman’s land!! Truly called the fields bluff!!! Amazing footage! A legend showing why she is one of the all-time greatest at this distance and the marathon.

    I remember this well. It would have been well under 30 mins were it not for the lapped athletes. Extraordinary performances in poor weather conditions.

      Having slower runners to chase is an incentive. Gone are the days when lapped runners got out of the way of faster athletes, you used to have to move out so the quicker runners had the inside, not anymore.

    Paula Radcliffe is definitely without a doubt not a natural runner. Everything about her movement especially the way her head swings from side to side, and the grimace and I can't breath kind of look tells me that she had work very extremely hard for every second.

    The average person doesn't realise how fast this actually is. They're running at a pace most people couldn't even hit in a sprint. 3:00/km is super fast. Super fast.

      At 54 years old i run distance but im lucky to hold 4:40 per km pace over 5-10 km and im working to do that
      3:00 pace is super human

      @@barefootbeachrunner9498 4:40 is actually fast. That's a high level non-elite pace. Especially for your age group. Regarding the video, even the athletes at the tail end are running sub 4 min kms. Super fast.

      Im trying to stay as fit as i can for as long as i can
      I run with a mixed age group ranging from our mid 30's to others around my age
      Weve got a mate that runs with us sometimes who has just turned 50 and still runs sub 4 min pace over the 5 k and still around 42 mins for 10k

      @@barefootbeachrunner9498 That's just the years and years of building a strong aerobic engine. That race pace is very impressive. A sub 45min 10k is something not many people achieve. Hope one day you'll come to South Africa and run the Comrades Marathon.

    It’s always telling to watch even these older races that elite WOMEN athletes SLOWED DOWN to run a 71 second lap in a 10,000 meter race. I recall seeing many world class athletes running in road races (including Liz McColgan and Joan Benoit). They were FLYING. The men were even faster. You get no sense of the speed they’re moving at when you see them
    on video. These athletes are truly amazing.

    Paula Radcliffe is absolutely brilliant and I have watched many of her races on the track, cross country and marathons. This woman is super-human. Just wondering (with complete respect to Paula Radcliffe), is there any reason that she has an abnormal head swing while running? It is more pronounced in later marathon runs?

      Lack of neck/trapezius strength. She actually worked with a coach on addressing that issue, but it was after her best accomplishments.

    I remember reading somewhere that in addition to a very high V02 max rate, she could also withstand pain at higher levels than most other elite athletes. I guess most of the best in any sport are that way. She was definitely one of the most incredible athletes in the last 50 years.

    Need and miss need and like have way before the Junior un Máster. Im not marcks. Im not velocist Sprinter im LOVE the Field Cross, im Rin un Aragón, Caspe, im half medium force distance. Strong Sprinter Red and Long White Slow.

      @@tibebesolomon1073 I agree one Ethiopian always did beat her but she did beat other Ethiopians in the same races. This run was the 2nd fastest ever at the time behind the Chinese lady so no African had run that quick before. In those conditions no one would have beaten her.

    She was a good runner, but ultimately a flat track bully as they say in cricket. At the very top level the Olympics she either didn't quiet have it or quit
