I did your nuke technique and it worked to soften up my medium/large okra, and make the seeds easier to take out of the larger ones! I love this! I use the seeds to top my mashed potatoes and salads!

Fun video as all of yours are. I've been canning for 45 years and also never cut corners regarding safety. About 2 years ago there were changes to the canning recommendations from the Center for Home food preservation based on many studies from various labs and universities. Do your own research but it has gotten a little easier. first it's no longer necessary to sanitize or sterilize jars and lids. A simple wash in hot soapy water is good as long as the processing time is over ten minutes. The lids now have a new adhesive that can be weakened if presoaking in hot water and should be used at room temp after washing. For hot packing with your brine just pop the jars into a 180 degree oven after washing until ready to use. And the big one!!! A very recent addition to my kitchen is a Kitchen Crop steam canner. It's full approved and only uses 2 1/2 qts of water. It heats up fast and your processing time is the same. The jars are never in the water. Lots of vids on that. I got the stainless steel one and am going to get a second one. The old water bathers are now just used for harvesting. You said you like comments! LOL One last recommendation, to enhance the crispness of pickled veggies ad 1/8th teaspoon per pint or 1/4 per quart of calcium chloride. It's sold as "pickle crisp" but is wayyyyyy cheaper on Amazon if you just order the chemical. You can get a lifetime supply for a few bucks. Okra,,,, it's what's for dinner tonight!

Very informative. May have to try picking some big okra slices. That looks like a great treat on a salad. We use the same recipe. It’s great!!! Thanks man!👍

Thank you, had fun with it and tried to stay on task. Wanted the video to be shorter, but I cut out everything I could.

      I haven't tried that, but I don't see why they wouldn't be good on a salad. 👍👍
