I actually found this game entertaining to be honest. Yes the game was a bit short having beaten it in like maybe 10ish hours (I wasn't keeping time) but I thought the premise was interesting. The whole atmosphere of the game was well done and the whole Salem Mass. and the Salem Witch trials connection was pretty cool in my opinion. The game had it's glitches with the camera sometimes and the ghostly abilities I felt were under utilized but the whole crime solving aspect was well done. The characters were pretty cool, my favorite being the teenage medium Joy who helps Ronan the ghost main character in solving his own murder and other murders that have been happening in town as well. If you don't scrutinize the game to much you'd enjoy it for what it is. I'm not going to say it's worth $60 dollars but if you find the game at a Redbox (like I did) or maybe Gamefly, or even Steam I would pick it up there.
It's actually an adventure game, I was kind of disappointed by that. But glad that I love adventure games as well, it turned out to be a better game than I expected.

Downed is an adjective modifying women. Which makes Why a a reflexive modifier to perished, not drowned, as perished is the verb modifying women. Try is the verb modifying you which means that if why was modifying it it would be why are you trying? So no. It is not correct. Grammatically is completely wrong.
How is this a more thought out game than watch dogs? It's so linear, I have had more fun playing the mini games in watch dogs than this unoriginal piece of crap.

HellRazor Ya, I get what you're saying, but truth be told, it make sense why if you play the entire game. SPOILERS, it's only 10 hours long SPOILERS. Meaning it's kind of hard to talk about some of the thing and then trying to expose the story, even though the whole ten hours is very quick paced in a manner of speaking. The game literally is very linear, far more than LA Noire was. And actually, the reason why he kind of fumbles around with the idea of what's good and bad is because the game has great ideas, but none of them are truly implemented to it's best. And from what it seems like, he wanted to keep the review short and simple, so ya, I guess you could qualify that as weird, and not really amazing review until you've actually played the game :P

This is a really fun game. The reviews for it are bad because they judge it against standards of modern gaming that this game isn’t even trying to emulate. This is game that is best to go into with an open mind. Enjoy the game for what it is. Plus, you can regularly find this game for $2. One run through doing some side quests and completing the game lasted me 11 hours. Not bad for only spending $2

The game is great. Got it for $5 digital on PS4. At 80% through the story I felt it warranted a physical purchase on Xbox one. If you wanna explore a city and find clues to stories, or do little side missions this is your game. I give it a 8/10. I bet there will be times when you even forget you're a ghost. XD not worth $60, but get it when it's on sale digital and it's worth it.
I agree that this game has many flaws. The combat is pointless and takes away from the immersion of a game that is supposed to be slow-paced. The numerous collectibles (like 200 or something in total!), while they add to the game's story, take away from the game play itself. Often I'd go searching for collectibles while ignoring the mystery at hand. Perhaps toning down the sheer number of them would have helped (though I very much loved the Ghost Stories collectibles). I also felt like the game was not dark enough. It needed blood, gore, bleak desperation to really paint this murderer as someone you want to find. Much more realism was needed. I wanted to be scared wandering the streets at night, bc this murderer could strike at any time. There was no sense of a clock where you had to race against time before someone else was murdered. I think if the game threw you in before the **spoiler** burning at the stake murder (and the drowned girl murder), and then let you experience those before dying in the beginning, then it would have paved the way for future gameplay.
I'm enjoying this game. Would not recommend buying, but it's definitely worth renting. Also surpised this footage is on PS4. Other than a few slightly sharper textures, It looks almost exactly as it does on 360..
this game is far from a 6 out of 10 but isn't worthy of a 10 out of 10. honestly it deserves at least a 7 or an 8. it has an interesting mystery story and it is original. never have I ever seen anything with this concept. it's brilliant. the game play while not the best is also far from being awful. the encounters with demons are intense and scary. it may be simple but each time you see o e it's a scary intense few minutes until they are taken down. they don't add anything into the game other than to add a challenge game play wise but it's a nice addition none the less. this game isn't horrible but it isn't a masterpiece. the story could be adapted into a book or a film or a TV show and this would make it interesting. I would love a sequel to this. not a direct sequel but a sequel that follows a completely different story with the same concept and improved mechanics to make the masterpiece this game should've been
Have fun playing Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain, God of War series, Bloodborne, Journey, The Last of Us.... all top notch games... that you'll never play on PC. Bow down.

From the looks of things (have read 4 reviews and various comments) it's not a bad game, but needed more challenge and consequence for making a misstep. More combat and combat mechanics seems to be something desired, too. In some ways it reminds me of The Sinking City which I liked, but also had problems with unexciting combat that is easily escaped and no consequence from doing the wrong things. So, I will be giving it a go based on my similar thoughts of another game that was definitely worth my £7. This is only £1.59... A no brainer!
@@Binary101 Yeah, I did. I enjoyed my playthrough. It's a fun story with some decent mechanics. What I said in my comment was true, though. You can mess up the investigation and there are no consequences, not even a trophy. There isn't really combat, it's like if you were playing a stealth game but restricted to stealth kills and having to go clock tower and run and hide if you get caught. Those sections were also fairly few. Despite this it was still fun to explore and I enjoyed sneaking up on the enemies. The puzzles/investigations weren't bad, either. I missed a lot of the collectables and one day might replay the game, but not for a while.
For 50 moneys, games should not be this short!!! Really pissed off at my two most recent purchases, this and Destiny. 150 quid down the drain, will never play either again. After each game I buy and complete I go back to BF4 because replay value is immense.

It is ok. :). People say it is bad. Remember it is sort of a short game. You can maybe find out who the killer is without the story. It is very difficult to find who the killer is. I sort of found out who it was and then i forgot it. :)

it is boring... i'm forcing myself to keep playing it and see if it gets interesting but no luck so far. Maybe it's not my type of game and someone finds something of interest here but so far it seems really plain

It is ok. :). People say it is bad. Remember it is sort of a short game. You can maybe find out who the killer is without the story. It is very difficult to find who the killer is. I sort of found out who it was and then i forgot it. :)

oh man.. i could stop laughing after i just looked up the price of this game and found out it's $50. are you serious?.. i assumed it was a $10-$15 downloadable budget title. but full priced? for this garbage? what we're they smoking? oh wait.. it was made by Air tight games.. maker of the equally horrible game Dark Void.. never mind. mystery solved.. it's bad cause it's made by an untalented developer.. makes sense.
