    Dr. Robert Kirr is the doctor who he was referring to @ 6:15 Who had an office in San Gabrial, CA. He wrote a book where he shared much his protocols for prescribing steroids to his 'patients', Including the variety of anabolics he would prescribe, and for what purpose. The dosages, and the blood monitoring and etc. It was a book where he laid out the facts of his practice and his experience with these drugs. I believe I still have this book stashed away somewhere. Was Silvester Stalone one of his patents. I can say positively YES. Because Dr. Kirr told me this directly.

      Jekot helped us greatly in the treatment of HIV patients! His help was extraordinarily helpful - I can't imagine not having his assistance at the time.
      Sadly, the bureaucrats are opposed to any empowerment, (physical, psychological, educational, or economic). Thus, he was martyred and forced to serve five years in prison. I wish I could thank him personally for all he did all of us treating physicians in the day.

    @luckym1580 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    RIP Bill Pearl

  • @DH-zp7bc
    @DH-zp7bc ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm staggered by the lack of your own research. Ziegler died of kidney failure relatively young by today's standards. He was only anti steroid in as much as what they athletes were taking over and above. The Mentzers were allegedly some of the first bodybuilders to take human growth hormone before it was synthesized - from dead human brains. Perhaps Ziegler facilitated this. I was always in awe of the Mike Mentzer physique because his muscles looked so thick. In later life, before he passed away he looked a mess which was sad to see.
    All through the cold war the west was battling the Soviet Union for gold medals. The battle for the best PEDs was going on behind the scenes. It was noticed some of the Soviet athletes prostates were so enlarged they had to pee through a catheter.
    Arthur Jones was publicly vehemently anti steroids and would only ever admit to Serge Oliver being on steroids when he trained him because he already was and if he had taken him off them his body would have been even worse than if he was natural due to hormonal imbalance. Arthur Jones used Casey Viator as his pin up for his HIT training methodology. HIT being coined by Ellington Darden. Jones and Darden were adamant Casey never took steroids under their tutelage. Casey also always denied use. If they had of admitted this it would have undercut Jones business model which was to sell a training regime and exercise equipment for the masses. Rumour has it Jones has all his bodybuilders on Nilevar which is allegedly what Bill Pearl took. Arthur Jones made a movie with Bill Pearl before he discovered Casey Viator and crucially before he was selling exercise machines. The Mentzers also had interaction with Arthur Jones and he gave them both jobs but reading between they lines he didn't like how lazy they were. Ray refused to demonstrate equipment complaining he was too sore after his workout proper so he left Lake Helen first then left alone without his brother Mike left not long after. Jones only ever really liked Viator who left him for the high life in California. Viator would admit to steroid use when he was in California but if anything his physique was not as good as when he trained under Jones. Arnold in his Bodybuilding Encyclopedia mentioned training with Viator and how intense it was. Bodybuilders at that time were enticed by the lifestyle Arnold had and wanted to share in it.
    The reasons the likes of Jones and Weider distance themselves from steroid use is obvious. They were both businessmen. They needed the masses on side. One to sell his exercise equipment to the masses and the other his muscle magazines.

    There is a video where the 'little guy' from Pumping Iron talks about the availability of steroids in Golds Gym at the time of the filming of Pumping Iron. The little guy is the person with blonde hair who Arnold gives some posing tips. Anyway, he states that Golds Gym, just like every other gym then and since, had a guy who dealt in steroids. In this interview he talks about how Arnold knew about the guy with the training bag full of gear and that he have a word with him not to approach the little guy.

These guys are eating between 5 and 10,000 calories a day off season leading to body weight of 300 lbs and above. You have no idea how much stress eating that amount of food puts the body under be it the heart, vascular system, pancreas, kidneys etc.... Gaining that kind of excess body weight over a long time will kill you slowly but gaining that kind of weight quickly will kill you decades earlier.

    Dr. Robert Kerr in San Gabriel Ca(next to Pasadena)is the one Jerry can't think of. I still use the Dr who bought his practice as my primary. Dr. Kerr was USC Football's team Dr for quite a while also. He was an excellent Dr, far from any kind of quack. He monitored, and wanted to see athletes who were going to do it anyway do things as safely as possible. He wouldn't prescribe excessive dosages either.
    I want to say I'm not outing &or exposing Dr. Kerr either. He was completely up front about things, he was a very competent sports Dr ahead of his time. Just like alcohol there's use and abuse of anabolics. I'm not advocating in for or against, my attitude is this is a consenting adult's choice. Unfortunately anabolics are another subject the Leftist media (who's generally clueless on the subject) have latched onto because it's so easy to sensationalize. Very similarly to the way they accuse anyone who disagrees with them racism, sexism etc. whatever works to discredit their opponents.
