have you noticed the solid fittings of the 10000 pump are a little small for 1 .5 inch I got a kockney koi hose tail that was 1.5 inch and it was alot bigger in its size. this was annoying got a rubber boot and it seems to struggle to fit a flexi boot vs a hose tail from kockney koi.
If you put the controller unit outside make sure you cover the connector that joins the pump wire and controller wire mine got water in and kept tripping once I covered it works great awesome pump
Thanks Craig. I'm busy playing around with a home made protein skimmer and not getting very good results. I remember your protein skimmer build but I cannot remember ever seeing it in action on your pond. That might be a good video and also what the best settings for a protein skimmer are (e.g. water flow, air flow and water level). Thanks again.
Hi, I have just bought a 20000 and am fitting to a Nexus 220. Is it possible to use a 1.5 " dovetail connection for supply and discharge or do you have to use the 2" connection and step down. My system is gravity fed but the discharge is going to an Aqua Evo 25 UV which has 1.5" connections. Appreciate some advise please...
Hi John You will get some restriction through the UV using that size pump however nexus filters run best at around 8000lph. That sort of flowrate will be fine with 1.5” pipe. Not sure what you mean by a “dovetail” connector? Hope that answers your question.
Not secure. Mine came off and my albino sturlet got sucked in and killed. Also I’ve had 3 of these. One lasted a year and a half then let water into the main pump body, tripping the house electric and the other 2 haven’t lasted 6 months before refusing to start when stopped for maintenance with error code E05. A very unreliable pump. In 35 years I’ve never had any pump as bad as these.
Good video again Craig👍 for your info though, the pond xpert variflow pumps are made in the same factory with the same internals and control box just a different colour case with the same 2 year warranty just £80 to £100 cheaper
@@madaboutkoi I don’t know what Queni is charging at the mo but locally to me an E.A 2000 is 299..99 Pond xpert from pondkeeper 229. .99 £179 from a couple of places
@@madaboutkoi Thanks, I installed it last year. I sealed flexible rubber joints to the srcrew threads using Stormsure inflatable canoe repair glue, and it works a treat, Can still be separated, scrubbed off and replaced if necesssary. The black flexible rubber does slowly perrish over a number 5 years or so though.
Really helpful tutorial - thank you. I appreciate the science and the details on use.

Cheers matey. This pump is going in the garage so no risk of water ingress 👍🏻
Hi great video how do you prime it please

Thanks for the review ive just bought the 10,000 model for my new eazypod what would you recommend running it at
No more than 5000lph
Sorry to sound dumb does that mean run it at 50%
Yes thats right 👍🏻
How do you attach the 2" pipe to them fittings? They are too small for me to slide into a 2" pipe. Even with a sleeve
I’ve just been surprised by this, how did you get around it
👍🏻 very informative 👍🏻
Another goodun, there will be no more drone footage of your pond once that roof goes on,still love those fish at beginning,
Yeah i thought about that. Its a shame but needs doing. Ive took some footage towards the end of summer that i still need to edit and upload 👍🏻
just bought a 10000 unit, looking forward to installing it
Great show.. Great info
Hi thinking of buying a vari pump how does the Superfish compare to the evo pump?
Hard to say as i have only been running the evo pump for around a year so cant comment on reliability. So far so good 👍🏻
@@madaboutkoi What about the superfish preformance
@@frankburkill6948from memory the evo
Is performing just as well as my old

hi are these pumps quiet ? i need one to power pond canister filter on a large aquarium
Yeah they aren’t bad for noise. I personally think my old dm vario pump was quieter however.

@@madaboutkoi thanks for the advice, meant hosetail - autocorrected 😤
Did you do a installation part ?
Will do one asap. Digging the camera back out to start doing videos again
Swell sells EXACTLY the same pump, specs, looks, everything, but for significantly less.
Are they any good
Just brought one, plumbing it in tomorrow.
How secure is that cage on there mate? Every video I have seen looks not secure at all. The ea guy takes it off with one hand 😅

Thanks matey, thats good to know
Ive just checked on the net mate they aren’t that much cheaper at all. In fact the 10000lph is more expensive than the EA version! 🙈
